Severe safety incident and property damage caused by a manufacturer defect. NHTSA Recall 26V-366 (tire repair kit recall; Honda campaign D0V) — the exact failure described in the recall has already occurred on this vehicle, and the recall remains INCOMPLETE on this vehicle. The tire repair kit sealant bottle pressurized and exploded in the trunk. The explosion covered the cargo area and the back of the seats in chemical sealant. Unaware of the recall at the time and needing to prevent permanent damage to the interior of the brand-new vehicle (purchased approximately 3 months prior), the owner undertook the hazardous task of cleaning the chemical spill personally. During this process the pressurized sealant spilled onto the owner and ruined his clothing. No injuries and no medical treatment (chemical sealant contact only). Property damage: cargo area, rear seat backs, and clothing. Incident occurred in XXX; the exact day is UNKNOWN. The vehicle had approximately 3,600 miles at the time of the incident; the current odometer reading is 7,000 miles. Honda case #XXX (Recalls/Campaigns) was opened in July 2026 — no resolution to date. Request: complete the recall remedy and address the resulting property damage and clothing loss. The contact owns a 2026 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at 33 MPH, the vehicle ahead unexpectedly decelerated, resulting in a rear-end collision. The contact stated that the Forward Collision Warning system failed to activate prior to the crash. During the collision, the driver-side, front passenger-side, and rear passenger-side airbags deployed in a delayed manner, and the driver-side airbag appeared to rupture during deployment. The front end of the vehicle sustained extensive damage, and the vehicle was towed by the insurance company to a private impound lot. The contact was transported via ambulance to a medical center, where she was treated for a fractured sternum, broken ribs, chest contusions, and trauma leading to respiratory distress, requiring diagnostic scans, X-rays, and an EKG evaluation. A police report was filed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure by phone. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000.

The check engine light turned on in my 2026 Honda cr-v hybrid, saying there was an emissions problem. The car is about 10 months old. When I took it in, they said the only thing that could have caused this problem was driving through a puddle or leaving it in a flooded area. This didn't happen - neither scenario. I never drove it through a puddle or left it in a flooded parking spot. But are you telling me that a $45,000 vehicle cannot be driven though a puddle? I read that the canister is so exposed in the newer models that you can't even run it through a car wash. It is that fragile, really? Shouldn't this be a recall issue?

10/05/2026 I was pulling into a parking spot when the car accelerated suddenly like i floored it. I did brake, but not until i hit a chain fence. Fortunately i was not injured and only my car was involved. The car had been taken to a repair shop. I am worried that this could happen again. I have reported this to Honda. I see that others have reported this as well, but no recall has been listed.

I purchased a brand-new 2026 Honda CR-V Hybrid. Less than three months later, the adaptive cruise control and collision-avoidance radar module was stolen in under a minute, forcing me to pay $2,650.98 out of pocket for repairs. In New York, the front radar module on the new Honda CR-V Hybrid is a frequent target for theft; owners often suffer losses of around $3,000 in just sixty seconds (exact costs vary by Honda service center). I consider this a clear design flaw by Honda: the collision-avoidance radar—which also integrates the adaptive cruise control function—can be easily removed using only a screwdriver, without even opening the hood or doors. This situation is completely unacceptable. Honda has failed to implement any anti-theft measures to prevent such incidents, leaving owners facing massive financial losses in the blink of an eye. This is unacceptable. Honda service personnel have acknowledged that the front radar on the new CR-V is extremely susceptible to theft. They have already repaired multiple 2026 Honda CR-Vs that had their front radars stolen. I strongly suspect that the Honda CR-V suffers from a serious design flaw. I strongly demand that Honda provide compensation to owners whose radars have been stolen.

- #11769262October 6, 2026STRUCTURE:BODY:BUMPERS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The contact owns a 2026 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed on two occasions, the center display turned off and needed to be manually restarted. Additionally, the front passenger's side bumper had become loose. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where an inspection was performed. The contact was informed that a bumper replacement or alignment was required, and the radio needed to be rebooted. The contact was informed that the dealer would reach out but never received a call. The manufacturer was notified of the failure by phone and a case was filed. The manufacturer denied assistance even though the vehicle was under warranty because the dealer had sent photos confirming that the front bumper was not defective. The manufacturer declined to send the contact the photos. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000.

Since new, my car's passenger side windshield fluid does not adequately clean (dirt, bugs) on its side of the windshield, even when parked, obstructing my view to the road. It’s a Honda design issue that is a safety issue. Honda dealer said it's working as designed. Car currently only has 5,000 miles.

My 2026 Honda CR-V has a major design vulnerability. I purchased this vehicle on 8/22/2026. On 10/1/2026 my vehicle was vandalized in the parking lot where I work. In a matter of seconds, without any special tools, a thief pried the front logo off the vehicle and stole the radar sensor/module which directly disables Honda sensing safety systems (including collision mitigation braking and adaptive cruise control) which causes cascading dashboard error lights (generating systematic driver distractions). The front logo lacks mechanical lockouts allowing thieves to leverage it off with a simple flathead screwdriver in under 30 seconds. After paying $38,000 for the vehicle, I now have to pay to replace the sensor/module. I received a quote from the local dealership for $1,892.66 (parts/labor), and there are no assurances that it won't be vandalized again. I filed a police report and a claim with my car insurance company. I also filed a complaint with American Honda Motor Co., Inc. Honda needs to initiate a design recall so this issue can be rectified. The sooner the better.

- #11768495October 2, 2026ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The core failure is a systemic electrical fault stemming from a deformed, defectively installed positive battery terminal assembly (containing visible metallic debris), and an unresolved clicking electrical noise behind the dashboard. The vehicle is available for inspection. A deformed positive terminal on a hybrid vehicle creates severe electrical resistance, risking arcing, engine compartment fire, or sudden power loss in traffic. The continuous dashboard clicking—persisting even with the engine off—indicates an active short. Because the dealership allowed this compromised connection to operate for thousands of miles, the prolonged electrical stress risks hidden, cascading degradation of downstream safety control modules. Yes, but dealerships actively suppressed the records. A XXX repair order verified the dashboard noise, but said it was AC pressure equalizing. (That does not sound like a clicking/ticking/turn signal noise from behind the drivers side air vent next to the door.) On XXX, Serra Honda O'Fallon inspected the deformed battery clamp. However, management explicitly refused to open a repair order. I possess written correspondence from management admitting to this "visual inspection," but intentionally evaded documenting the service visit. When I asked about the metal shavings, I was ignored. Inspected only by local Honda dealership personnel. Honda Corporate refuses to acknowledge anything I have told them so far. No warning lamps illuminated, but symptoms of systemic electrical instability appeared early. By June 2026, the vehicle developed the continuous electrical dashboard clicking. This symptom of unstable power cascading through the system was documented well before I discovered the physical deformity at the battery terminal. Note: These curated videos isolate the noise. Please use headphones or turn your device volume up. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

driving from [XXX] to [XXX]. On adaptive cruise control with lane departure active. In [XXX], on the interstate, with the interstate curving to the left. Left curve illustrated on dash in cluster. Approaching a vehicle in the right lane while on cruise, it was going slower than my set speed. This vehicle was slowing for an exit on a ramp that was straight away aligned with the right lane, curve starting just after this ramp. This vehicle was braking for the ramp. Our vehicle chimed alerting to the approaching slower vehicle. We were whatever Honda specifies for a correct following distance, at least 8 car lengths if not further. Our vehicle rapidly slowed even though this forward vehicle was on the exit ramp. Then it rapidly decelerated to around 40 mph from the 70 we had been at. We had no vehicle in front of us in the Interstate through lane. If we had had a vehicle following us at the normal "too close distance" we could have easily been tail ended. There was zero reason for the vehicle to brake for the exiting vehicle. The adaptive cruise apparently was fixated on the forward vehicle, and did not incorporate the lane keeping data that showed the road turning. This rapid braking surprised us, and I had to override the vehicle stepping on the accelerator to regain speed. I have no idea how slow it would have gone. The lane change software also consistently have problems with decel lane marking, pulling the vehicle to the right when these happen pushing us out of lane position. It also registers black tar coating on straight seams as lane markers, either moving the vehicle or shaking the wheel to alert us of an issue - - which does not exist. There also does not appear to be an effective interface between the "hands on steering wheel" sensor and existing road conditions that consistently result in shakes or alerts for events fully under the drivers control. More if anyone is interested, out of characters. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA)

I was on the interstate, in an unfamiliar area, in heavy traffic and in construction area. Suddenly, the GPS screen just went blank and it was at a point where the next step in the directions was coming up. Being in heavy traffic, with construction, at a high rate of speed, in an area where I was unfamiliar and having the system drop like that is the safety concern when you’re trying to make driving decisions.. Thankfully I was able to pull over in an area that was safe enough to stop.

The vehicle's infotainment/display and wireless smartphone projection system is malfunctioning. Specifically, wireless Apple CarPlay can suddenly disconnect while I am driving and the system does not reliably recover or re-establish the connection. When this occurs, Apple CarPlay functions including navigation, maps and audio become unavailable, sometimes for the remainder of the drive. The vehicle and infotainment system remain in my possession and are available for inspection. This creates a potential safety hazard because I primarily drive the vehicle alone, with no passenger available to safely operate the phone or infotainment system while the vehicle is moving. The issue has occurred during highway driving. When Apple CarPlay fails to recover, I can be left without my normal navigation and other functions. Attempting to diagnose or restore the connection may require interaction with the phone or infotainment system by the driver, creating a potential driver-distraction hazard. This is particularly concerning at highway speeds. The problem has been reported to and evaluated by an authorized Honda dealership/service department. The dealership observed/acknowledged the issue and informed me that it was related to a Honda software/update issue, but no dealer-level repair was available at that time. There have been no dashboard warning lamps associated with the problem. The primary symptom is the sudden loss of wireless Apple CarPlay while driving. Bluetooth may remain functional, but Apple CarPlay, including navigation, maps and audio, becomes unavailable and does not reliably recover after the connection is interrupted. The issue first began around December 2025 and has occurred repeatedly since then. The vehicle has been inspected by the Honda dealership. To my knowledge, it has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives.

The steering wheel makes a clicking and knocking noise when turning left or right at any speed. The problem occurs every time I turn the steering wheel and can also be felt when changing lanes. The steering becomes stiff and feels like it catches or binds while turning, requiring more effort to steer. The problem has been occurring repeatedly and has not gone away. I am concerned that the steering could become more difficult to control while driving and create a safety risk. 2023-2025 Honda CRV have been recalled for a similar steering problem.

My wife and I leased this 2026 crv on XXX. Six days old, with approx 89 miles on it. We were heading to [XXX] from [XXX] on [XXX] when there was a engine noise, then a loud pop, my wife said it was smoking and no oil pressure came across the instrument panel, immediately after that message the screen turned red saying to turn vehicle off immediately. We were on a corner on the interstate right at XXX exit, we coasted to shoulder, there was flames coming up from hood cowl between windshield wipers/hood/ windshield while we were still in the vehicle. We were able to exit the vehicle and get to a safe distance and i called [XXX]. [XXX] fire department responded to put out the fire, as well as montana highway patrol to make a report. The Honda dealer we leased from sent us a replacement vehicle, they also had the towing company haul the car to there lot, and the payed the wrecker bill. We initially called our insurance to let them know about the fire, and that the car was a total loss. But we thought it would be best to talk to corporate honda before we filed a claim. It took honda about a week to respond, they said we have to turn it into our insurance. We finalized our insurance claim XXX.
