  This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that have a Service Engine Soon Malfunction Indicator Lamp on a rough running engine, and/or oil consumption. Technician will find Diagnostic Trouble Code P0300 set. Technician will apply regulated air pressure through the PCV pipe and spray soapy water where the PCV baffle and valve cover meet with soapy water to inspect for possible signs of a leak. Technician will replace the value cover if a leak is present.

  13364 - Service Update. Replace the passenger side front air bag. These vehicles may have a condition in which the passenger side front air bag will not function as designed due to an electrical connector not being properly engaged. This condition may set diagnostic trouble code (DTC) B0020 ? Passenger Frontal Deployment Loop Stage 2 Resistance Above Threshold. If this occurs, the Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM) will request the instrument cluster to illuminate the air bag malfunction indicator lamp. If a crash event occurs the SDM will attempt air bag deployment, but, if the mating terminals do not make contact, the secondary stage of the passenger side front air bag will not deploy, increasing the risk of injury to the occupant.

  This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that have various 2-Mode Hybrid issues. Some vehicle may have service hybrid system lamp that comes on with a Diagnostic Trouble Code P061B set. Technician will need to take a snap shot of the Electronic Brake Control Module and call General Motors Technical Assistance Center for further assistance. Some vehicles may have a combination of engine stall at a stop, lacks power on acceleration, surge while driving, engine flare, transmission slip, poor or lower fuel economy or reduced EV range/limited electric propulsion since completion of recent programming. Technician will need to perform a Charge Procedure. Some vehicles have Diagnostic Trouble Code P0BBD stored without Diagnostic Trouble Code P061B or P0AFA. Technician will verify that the Drive Motor Battery was not run low on charge due to a no start concern.

  This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician on the steps to diagnose and repair vehicles that may have Service Engine Soon Malfunction Indicator Lamp on and a constant engine misfire. If Service Information diagnosis isolates no compression on the misfiring cylinder(s) with 100% leakage into the crankcase, perform the following steps as necessary before disassembling the engine. Technician will use a lighted bore scope if available to inspect the top of the related piston(s) through the spark plug hole to determine if any of the pistons are melted. If damaged piston(s) are found inspect for aftermarket parts. Also use the latest version of 09-06-04-026 to verify if there are aftermarket calibrations in the Engine Control Module. Take photos and document accordingly if anything is found.

  This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about the percentage of UV protection or tint offered by the windshield or side glass. Technician should be advised Windshield reduces UV rays down to 4% or less. Front side door glass reduces UV rays down to 35% or less. Windshields are SOLAR glass with a light transmittance of >/=70%. Front door glass are Solar glass with a light transmission of >/=70%. Rear door glass, quarter windows and back windows can use either Solar glass (>/=70%) or Privacy glass, which has a light transmittance of 20%.
