I purchased a 2007 GMC Envoy from Premier Auto Sales in [XXX] in XXX. I put down $1,250 and I pay $500 a month, $250 bi-weekly. I owe $4767 left on the vehicle in total. A month or two after I bought the vehicle, my car started driving rough and not being able to handle small bumps without rocking violently. I took the vehicle to Jay's Auto Repair in [XXX] where the owner [XXX] placed the vehicle on a rack and lifted it up to identify the issue. Both rear control arms rusted off of the frame and had completely unattached. While handling this, [XXX] called me over to come look at the undercarriage of the vehicle to advise me that the vehicle's frame is completely rusted out, and is not safe for my [XXX] [XXX], or myself to be driving or riding in. [XXX] then advised me to contact the dealership to at least see if they'd be willing to trade the vehicle in, so I could be paying $500 a month for a drivable, reliable and safe vehicle for my family and I. The dealership gave me 4 or 5 options on just as mechanically unsound vehicles with extremely high mileage, but I'd still have to pay a rollover on my current rusted out frame vehicle because he'd only give me $2500 for it in credit to another vehicle. Once I expressed interest in a Dodge Journey Crossroad they had, the dealership owner [XXX] advised I'd have to put more money down to get a car that good, and reliable if I wanted to trade mine in due to the unsafe frame. Since this discussion, I still have the vehicle in my possession, however I have become $500 default in payments due to different repairs needing to be made on the vehicle itself INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The contact owns a 2006 GMC Envoy. The contact stated that while driving various speeds, there was an abnormal burning odor coming from the front driver’s side door circuit board. There was no warning light illuminated. There was a white and grayish smoke coming from the door panel. After removing the door panel, the contact discovered that the source of the smoke was coming from the wiring inside the door. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, and the contact was informed of NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V599000 (Visibility); which the mechanic related to the failure. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer, and the contact was informed that the driver’s side door switch module needed to be replaced; however, the contact declined the dealer's estimate for a comprehensive wiring inspection. The vehicle remained unrepaired with the dealer. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

My windshield wipers come on when you start the car, or when you just click the switch to put windows up, but the wiper switch is off. The wipers stay operating from 5 to 10 minutes before they shut off, and I am concerned the windshield and/or wipers may become damaged. This issue has just started to occur within the last week. There have been no warning messages of any type displayed.

The contact owns a 2008 GMC Envoy. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked on several occasions with the driver's side seat belt latched, while attempting to release the seat belt, the seat belt remained locked in the buckle. The contact depressed the release button and wiggled the seat belt several times before the seat belt released. The contact exited the driver's seat and attempted to assist the passenger to release the seat belt; however, the seat belt tightened around the abdomen. The contact stated that a bystander attempted to assist, but the seat belt failed to release and became tighter around passenger’s abdomen. The contact used a pair of scissors to cut the seat belt webbing to release the passenger. The contact was unable to remove the seat belt even after cutting the webbing. The passenger was not injured and did not receive medical attention. The vehicle was taken to the residence where the contact's spouse inspected the vehicle and attempted to release the seat belt. The vehicle was not repaired or diagnosed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 138,735.

- #11700025November 18, 2025FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
My vehicle has developed a leak in the plastic fuel tank at the junction of the fill hose connection and the body of the tank that is causing release of flammable vapors and liquid gasoline underneath the vehicle and causing failure of emissions systems. These vehicles have a rampant and long-standing reputation for developing leaks in their plastic fuel tanks at this location which cannot be repaired by any normal means available to a consumer. Virtually all of these vehicles eventually develop leaks, which cause release of flammable fuel vapors and raw gasolene releases. Why isn't there a recall on these faulty fuel tanks? The manufacturer only provided a short-term solution for a limited period of time that is no longer available for vehicles that still have the leaking tanks. The condition is dangerous.

The car's gas gauge and fuel range indicator are problematic. The fuel gauge quickly drops from a higher reading, like 3/4 full, to empty. After this, the gauge and the fuel range both fluctuate while driving, making it impossible to determine the fuel level.

I bought a 2003 GMC Envoy 3/23/24. The main frame and sub-frame have extensive rot, and is unsafe to drive. It is available to inspect. They disguised frame damage and sold me an unsafe vehicle. I brought the car in to have the ac repaired in August 2024 and when they put it up on the lift that's when they saw the damage. This was Rogers Automotive in Westport MA. They told me at that time that it is unsafe to drive. It has not been inspected by any other parties at this time. We had no idea it was damaged, Rogers said it was sprayed to try to hide the damage.
