Campaign/NHTSA# 23S48/23V598 Even though Ford Motor website sows the fix for the recall is available, when we approach the authorized dealers they are saying it is not available. I have contacted two authorized dealers and none of them are able to fix the issue, saying the parts not avaialble. Dealers that I have contacted are: AutoNation Ford Jacksonville (10720 Phillips Highway Jacksonville, FL 32256 (904) 865-5509) Coggin Ford (9650 Atlantic Boulevard Jacksonville, FL 32225 (904) 893-2735) This is pretty much not drivable now the camera hardly works anytime.

Rear differential or axle suffered catastrophic failure on highway, causing both rear wheels to lock up and the driveshaft to shear off/separate from the differential housing. Locking rear wheels at 55mph caused the vehicle to lose traction and spin out. Vehicle crossed multiple lanes of interstate highway, colliding with a snow bank facing the wrong direction. Fortunately traffic was light (incident occurred approx. 5:30AM on Sunday) and snow prevented the vehicle from colliding with the median wall. Had the incident occurred at another time or another place, injuries or fatalities would have been considerably more likely. Only advance warning was approx. 5 seconds of loud noise and intense vehicle shuddering from the rear before the wheels locked and control was lost. Once traction was lost, multiple driver-assist indicators lit up, but shut off after motion stopped. Vehicle was immobilized afterwards and had to be 'shaken' off the tow truck as the rear wheels would not turn. New vehicle, approx. 4,000 miles. Vehicle is currently at the local Ford dealership awaiting inspection.

I've been waiting on a van for 500 days from Ford Motor Company. They built the van with a recall and now aren't giving me a time when the repair will be completed.

Noise in the rear of the vehicle during low speed tight turns (parking lot speed). Vehicle has had axle bearing/hub replaced along with 7585W oil. The problem never went away even after this repair and has become worse. The dealership has had my vehicle for over 2 weeks and cannot find the problem. My concerns are: The dealership cannot diagnose the problem and if the problem is related to the drive line it could lead to a failure at highway speeds which could be catastrophic.

- #11537364August 9, 2023UNKNOWN OR OTHER, POWER TRAIN:AXLE ASSEMBLY, WHEELS:HUB
Per Mr. [XXX]: My daughter and members of our church’s high school youth group were on their way to a summer missions project in western Virginia/eastern Tennessee in an Enterprise rental van when the [DRIVERS' SIDE] rear tire started to separate from the vehicle as they were driving south on [XXX] near Staunton! Fortunately, the dad who was driving was able to safely steer the van to the side of the road, where the kids and their suitcases were re-distributed among the other vehicles in the caravan. They called Enterprise, but they had no vehicles to spare, so they told the driver to leave the van by the side of the road and they would dispatch a wrecker to pick it up. Have you seen this happen before with Ford Transit axles? But for the driver’s alertness, this could have been a headline-making event! - #11526590June 12, 2023LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION
Picked up this vehicle 3 weeks ago and the blind spot monitoring does not work. Ford supposedly took this over because WGO's product failed so easily. This Ford product didn't work from the beginning.

- #11523875May 25, 2023ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION
Blind spot detection system has frequent false alerts when no vehicles are present. Also, it often does not activate when a vehicle IS present. Totally unreliable and a safety risk if depended upon. As you can see in the attached photo, there are no vehicles in my blind spot yet the light continues to come on. He will often not come on when cars are present.
