SummarySome 2017-2019 F-650/F-750 vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine, 6R140 transmission and hydraulic brakes may exhibit a driveline vibration typically during the 1500-1700 engine revolutions per minute (RPM) range. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the powertrain control module (PCM).

SummarySome 2016-2019 F-650/F-750 vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine and an air brake system may exhibit inoperative cruise control and/or immediate transmission downshifting when releasing the accelerator pedal. This may be caused by an in range failure of the brake pedal pressure transducer (7920) that does not set a diagnostic trouble code (DTC). The Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) can be used to view the WHEEL TRQ RAW PID in the generic function module (GFM). It displays the voltage value of the brake pedal pressure transducer. The voltage should be between 0.35 volts and 0.65 volts with the brakes released and will increase with brake pedal pressure. An inoperative transducer will not change with brake pedal pressure. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 206-08 for the location of the brake pedal pressure transducer.

SummarySome 2016-2019 F-750 vehicles may exhibit an excessive or uneven amount (inner versus outer) of front and/or rear brake pad wear. For vehicles exhibiting this condition, it's recommended to use FC4Z-2001-F brake pad kit when replacing front or rear pads. Some vehicle applications will demonstrate improved brake pad wear after installing this kit.

SummaryFor Ford and Lincoln vehicles that require positive or negative battery terminal replacement, it is not necessary to replace the complete battery cable harness (14300 and 14301) for this concern. Positive battery cable clamp BT4Z-14450-AA and negative battery cable clamp BT4Z-14450-BA are available for this type of repair. Do not cut or shorten the battery cable, instead carefully remove the affected battery cable clamp and clean the cable end as necessary to preserve wire length. Some rework may be necessary for some vehicle environments. Bend the new positive battery cable clamp as needed and crimp it to the existing battery cable. Make sure to use heat shrink tubing over the battery cable to battery cable clamp connection. Obtain the heat shrink tube locally.

SummarySome 2016-2019 F-Super Duty and 2016-2019 F650-750 vehicles equipped with 6.7L engine may exhibit a concern where the engine cooling fan stays on at all times or is inoperative. Diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0480, P0494, P0495, P0529, P0691, P0692, P0693 and/or P0694 may be stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). To address these vehicle symptoms, use the updated online version of pinpoint test AH in the powertrain control/emission diagnostic (PC/ED) tab on the PTS website. The pinpoint test has been updated to aid in preventing unnecessary fan clutch replacement.

SummarySome 2017-2019 F-Super Duty chassis cab/dual rear wheel (DRW) pickup vehicles and 2016-2019 F-650/F-750 vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine may exhibit a concern of oil consumption in applications where the engine is idled for extended periods of time. This may be due to high crankcase pressure as a result of the crankcase ventilation filter element becoming restricted. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to replace the crankcase oil separator. The new crankcase vent oil separator appears different from the old crankcase vent oil separator as it no longer includes a serviceable filter element. Follow the service procedure steps to correct the condition.

SummaryOn vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission it is imperative that the converter pilot hub be greased with Motorcraft Multi-Purpose Grease Spray XL-5-A even if grease was not applied from the factory. Also verify that the engine/transmission alignment dowel pins are present as well as the engine crankshaft dowel pin, if equipped, when installing the transmission. Failure to adequately lubricate the converter hub greatly increases the likelihood of the flexplate cracking in the future. Missing dowels may cause a misalignment issue also resulting in a premature failure. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 307-01.

SummarySSM 47948 - 2010-2019 Various Vehicles - Turbocharged Engines - Oil Supply Filter Replacement When Replacing The Turbocharger Or The Turbocharger Oil Supply Tube For 2010-2019 vehicles equipped with turbocharged engines, when diagnosing and/or replacing turbo related concerns, all steps within the Workshop Manual (WSM) procedure must be followed including replacement of all mandatory discarded parts. When specified in the WSM, the turbocharger oil supply filter must be replaced whenever the turbocharger or the turbocharger oil supply tube are replaced. Turbocharger bearing failure may occur if oil starvation occurs due to a restricted filter.

SummaryVarious 2013-2019 vehicles may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P264F after powertrain control module (PCM) replacement. This DTC indicates that the engine serial number (ESN) must be programmed into the PCM. The ESN is located on PTS> OASIS> Features> Engine Serial Number. Once the ESN is obtained from the historical vehicle bill of materials (HvBOM), it can be programmed into the PCM using the appropriate Ford diagnostic scan tool. Navigate to the toolbox tab> powertrain menu> Service Functions> ESN.

SummarySome 2015-2017 vehicles may experience a no crank concern due to a security access key table error. When attempting to program keys or perform a parameter reset, the procedure may fail and the Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) scan tool may display an error 232: Key Table Not Allocated. If this error message is encountered, the Body Control Module (BCM) is internally faulted and requires replacement. For claiming, use causal part 15604 and applicable labor operations in section 10 of the Service Labor Times Standards (SLTS) manual.
