- #11596660June 26, 2024FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
my f250 super duty just completely stopped running while driving down the interstate, i then had the vehicle towed to the ford dealer where i purchased it in 2015. after the shop examination they found that the high pressure cp4 fuel pump had came apart and contaminated the fuel system entirely. The shop forman called and advised me of the problem and that it would cost 16,000.00 to have it fixed. he also advised me the this was a ongoing problem that they have had with this particular fuel pump, and that they had recall on the trucks from 2011 to 2018 for this. but he told me that my vin number was not on the recall list. he said that i would have to pay out of pocket to have the repairs done. I THEN CONTACTED FORD MANUFACTORING about this, the service lady that i spoke to said that there was nothing they could do because my truck was not on the recall list. To me this is a big safety measure, because when it quit, if i haven't been in an area where i was able to get out off the road there could have been a very serious accident. i feel that an issue like this that ford knows they have and continue using the same pumps should be there responsibility. I had know visible or any warnings sign of this was going to happen. this truck i purchased new and have put every mile on it and had this truck service very regularly. i have all the service records, just had the fuel filters and oil changed about 2 weeks before this happened. Thank you for your time. PLEASE ADVISE.

Consistent oil leaks. The cars are manufactured poorly and this is a horrible but common issue that Ford has yet to come up with a fix.

Today my 2015 Ford F250 SD experienced the aptly named Ford “Death Wobble”. It occurred twice today after just having the whole front end rebuilt for the same issue just weeks ago. My truck shakes so violently I am concerned for my safety and that of my wife. To stop the shaking I have to slow to 30 mph or less, typically on the highway where all other vehicles are traveling at 65+. The truck now sits at a dealership waiting for repair. The service writer states parts that were replaced two - three weeks ago are “shot”. How can this be? Ford F250’s have this as a known problem with no real fix. Just keep throwing parts at it with no resolve. I had the truck worked on in July ‘23, May ‘24 and now. I am invested heavily in this truck and have now had to replace parts multiple times because some design flaw keeps wearing them out. I’d love to see some sort of recall that forces some sort of redesign and real repair.

I was driving on the Freeway, 65 mph, all of sudden, the steering and truck started to shake violently, lost control of the steering wheel, due to the severe shaking, caused traffic behind me to stop suddenly as they noticed something major was going on. It felt like as if I had 4 flat tires, and it felt like a strong earthquake. I had to reduce speed to 10 mph per hour, it stopped shaking and exited the freeway, Never experience anything like this before.

I experienced the “Ford Death Wobble” when on the highway at 70 MPH. It has happened three times now. It didn’t stop until I pulled off the road and stopped. It was an unsafe situation trying to get across three lanes of traffic and stop in the shoulder of the road. I did not loose control of the truck but it was close to being uncontrollable. From what I’ve read, this needs to be a Recalled item!!

On multiple occasions I have experienced the “F250 death wobble”. When reaching speeds of over 60 mph my front end and steering wheel start shaking violently. The entire truck is uncontrollable. It feels like the vehicle is going to shake apart. It is difficult to even hold onto the steering wheel and keep the vehicle going in a straight line. I have to slow down to about 30 mph on an interstate to make it stop, creating a dangerous situation. Sometimes I have to pull off the road. Often, when hitting a bump in the road it gets triggered. I’ve had it looked at multiple times at ford dealerships and nothing is ever found that is the cause of it. It’s extremely dangerous and there is no recall for this problem. Thankfully I have managed to keep control of the vehicle. I’ve experienced this problem for going on 3-5 years. I have replaced the front tires numerous times as that seems to help, though not eliminate the problem. Ford needs to do something about this with a recall or educating their service departments. There are tons of complaints online

While merging onto an interstate the truck began to violently shake causing me to begin to lose control. I was able to brake hard and pull off the road before I lost complete control. I was extremely upset after this event. After regaining composure on the side of an interstate I pulled back onto the interstate. Within the next 10 min I hit a bump in the middle of the interstate and the truck again began to shake violently. I thought I was going to lose control and crash. We immediately had the vehicle taken to a mechanic. The work they did cost 1300$. Approximately 2 weeks after getting the vehicle back I was driving over a bridge and the seam in the road again caused the truck to violently shake. Again feeling like I was going to lose control. I was able to brake hard and pull over on the side of a bridge. This caused significant trauma to myself and my young son. Since then the truck continues to violently shake anytime it’s driven over a bump or seam in the road even at slow rates of speed. We have taken the vehicle to the mechanic again and they have been unable to solve the issue

The contact owned a 2015 Ford F-250. The contact stated while the driver was driving 70 MPH, the vehicle shut off inadvertently. The contact's fiancé was able to pull to the side of the road. There was no warning light illuminated. The mechanic replaced the fuel system assembly. The contact stated that the transmission later failed, and the vehicle was sold. The vehicle was not repaired. An unknown dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. At any given moment, if I have the wheel turned a little bit and hit a pot hole or crack in pavement, the drivers wheel will do a horrible wobble until I slam the brakes on and hold tight to the wheel. It will not come out of this wobble until I am at an almost complete stop. This has happened more than 10 times in a few weeks. It has been happening for a few months but is happening more and more now. I have had the tires balanced, changed the shocks, changed stabilizer shock, and replaced the tie rods. None of this has helped. After talking with a mechanic, this is a known Problem with Ford F250’s. This is very dangerous to not only me and my passengers but other drivers on the road as well when my truck swerves into other lanes and I have to slam my brakes on. I am hoping something can be done before injuries happen. Yesterday was the worst and almost caused an accident.
