Right rear main axle bolt sheared and separated from the axle. I am concerned the wheel and hub could separate. Customer Satisfaction Program 22B34 may apply, but the dealer is not certain but is looking into it. filing this report as this seems like a serious flaw.

This 2022 Ford f150 has experienced the exact failure shown in ford CSP 22B34. The right rear axle securing bolt has sheared. The CSP applies to trucks built through Sept. 30 2021. This truck was built in Dearborn, in November - BUT has had the exact failure. I am concerned Ford has under estimated the number of affected vehicles for this safety issue. This is concerning. Ford rep said it is OK to drive, even though it has failed and was not listed in the range. it could be a larger issue than the CSP.

There has been times when for no reason at all I will start up the vehicle and a loud static pop sound comes out of the speakers. Then after that the sound will go on and off throughout the speakers, I have no way of turning it off, I even try to turn off the vehicle and let it sit of a minute and get back in and start it, it did not go away. I had to drive it with the static noise going on. But after I get to my destination, and park the vehicle. Let it sit for a couple of hours, then I get back in the car and the sound is gone. I have try to complain to ford, and they keep on telling there's nothing they can do.

I was driving south on Interstate 5 near Stockton CA and I noticed an awful sound coming from the back of my truck. When I gave it more throttle nothing was happening, my truck was slowing down, the more throttle I gave it the louder the grinding noise got. My truck was slowing down to a crawl, and I had to pull off the freeway, the shoulder was only big enough for my truck to fit, I could not open the driver's door because the on-coming traffic would hit my driver's door, I needed to use my passenger door to exit my truck. If was very dangerous because on-coming traffic was doing 65MPG, I had to call tow truck to come and tow my truck away to the Ford dealership. The Ford service dealership inspected my truck and found that the real axle bolt had sheared off and allowed the rear axle to disengage from the differential causing the truck not to move or have control. Ford Motor Company knows this is a safety issue, I have attached a document, Customer Satisfaction Program [XXX] that proves Ford has had this issue in the past couple of years and seems to think it's still not an issue, Ford will only warranty the repair for the one side that failed. In the document I have attached it clearly states that both axles and both bolts need to be replaced. Ford told me that my vin # is not included in the customer satisfaction program so they will not replace the other axel and bolt. This is a major safety issue for me and the public allowing my vehicle to be on the road the way it is at this point in time. The other bolt could shear off and cause my vehicle to run off the road or cause an accident because of not have control of my vehicle. Randomly and suddenly while driving on OH State Route 98, my vehicle started a ROARING audio expulsion that could NOT be stopped. It was coming from EVERY speaker and at MAXIMUM volume and lasted for about 45 minute. I tried audio controls, I pulled over on the side of the road and shut down my vehicle. I opened my door to "complete" the computer shut off. I tried randomly pulling fuses to no avail. I did NOT have tools to remove the battery connection. It produced such power that a distinct odor of electrical fire was present. I did NOT witness flame, but I was very worried it was soon to happen. I drove to dealer. All controls SEEMED to work normally. The audio was dangerously loud and we recorded a video / audio.

- #11551285October 23, 2023FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
My 2022 F150 Lightning was involved in a 3 car collision on Interstate 80. Three safety components of the pickup truck did not engage in preventing the accident. Specifically the adaptive cruising did not slow the truck down as traffic came to a slow crawl on the highway due to an apparent accident up ahead. Normally the adaptive cruising will start decreasing speed if the vehicle in front encroaches on the distance set for clearance. The second component which was the forward collision aural and visual warnings did not sound nor flash a warning sign on the dashboard that a collision was imminent. And the final component that failed to engage was the emergency collision braking. My seatbelts did not automatically pull back anticipating a collision. No emergency braking was applied by the truck. My wife who was the driver and I was the front right seat passenger. She was able to apply the brakes to slow down but not enough to stop before we impacted the vehicle in front which then got pushed into the 3rd vehicle in front of him. Our impact speed was probably less than 10=20 mph but the impact totaled the middle vehicle. Forthunately no injuries in any of the 3 vehicles. The middle vehicle airbags deployed. Our airbags did not deploy. California CHP came and told us no report needed to be filed. Claim was made with our insurance companies. My Ford service department representative was able to access the telemetry data on the truck and noted the time of the collision registered on the onboard computer but there were no indications that any of the 3 safety systems engaged as I mentioned. The windshield of the truck had been replaced by Safelite Windows less than a month before the accident which may have resulted in perhaps not able to sense the upcoming collision although they did the realignment after replacing the windshield. This may have been a secondary cause of the collision.

Max tow package 3/4 floating rear passenger side axle retention bolt twisted until snapped off. Only thing keeping the rear wheel/axle setup on the truck was the brake caliper.... Ford tech said they have so many in for this issue they don't have the parts in stock anymore. There was a recall issued for some 2021 models but this continues to effect 2022s and 2023s.
