Since I've purchased the truck in 2023 I've been receiving in the mail notices about a recall for the rear-axel shaft for my 2022 f150. I am a major proponent of safety and maintenance. Year over year I've attempted to get it fixed at authorized ford dealerships but I've been told a handful of times that the parts are not available and I'm not getting the appropriate urgency required for an issue of this stature. I am embarking on a big trip and I'm concerned about my safety and the safety of others on the road.

I was in an accident where I broadsided a vehicle at 45 mph. The accident warning sensors didn’t activate and no airbags deployed. The accident was severe enough that my truck was deemed totaled and the other vehicle flipped upside down

After entering my 2022 F150 Lariat in a parking lot and starting it, I placed my iPhone on the charger and I backed out of the spot I was in with my hazard lights turned on. I placed the vehicle in drive and turned off the hazard lights. As I pulled forward, a deafening sound came from the back seat of my truck that sounded like some kind of electric static with a popping noise. I reflexively pressed the break, ducked my head and tried to turn the volume knob down which did nothing. I pressed the stop/start button to shut the vehicle off and that did not change the sound coming from the door speakers. I jumped out of the truck because the sound was painful and proceeded to use a pair of pliers from a leatherman that I was carrying to disconnect the positive side of the battery; this too did nothing. At this point, I closed all of doors and searched the web on my phone to see if similar problems existed for other owners and if there was a fix. After about 8-10 minutes, the sound stopped. Based on what I read, this was a widely known issue on Ford F150 models between the years 2021-2024. Apparently, Ford has not responded to this yet. If this we’re to happen while driving, it’s would be shocking enough to cause a reflexive action that could put people in danger of a crash. I have video of this occurrence if needed.

- #11697730November 5, 2025ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, EXTERIOR LIGHTING
The rear lightbar assembly on our 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning Lariat has developed micro-cracks in the outer lens, allowing moisture to accumulate inside. This has caused flickering or inoperative reverse lamps and now appears to be impacting the rear passenger blinker, which functions intermittently. We are concerned that the moisture has begun to corrode the rear wiring harness or electrical system, creating additional safety risks. When we reported the issue, a Kendall Ford representative told us the rear lightbar replacement was “mainly cosmetic,” but that assessment contradicts both Ford’s recall documentation and our experience. Moisture intrusion has already led to intermittent lighting failures that reduce signaling visibility to other drivers, posing a real risk of collision. The problem has been confirmed by the dealer and a Ford Field Service Engineer dispatched from Dearborn, who inspected the truck in 2025 after the same recall repair (23S30) failed. Ford has since issued a new recall (25V731 / 25S86) acknowledging improper dealer repairs as the cause. Visible condensation, flickering lights, and intermittent “charging system fault” and “sensor unavailable” messages began shortly after the 2023 recall repair and have continued to worsen. The vehicle remains in our possession and is available for inspection by NHTSA or Ford corporate upon request.

On Acceleration from a stop at approx. 35 miles per hour the rear wheels locked up causing the vehicle to come to an abrupt screeching stop. Almost rear ended by other vehicles causing great concern for safety. According to Ford the codes that kicked off are transmission shift solenoids. This is the second time this happened, fist time was backing out of a driveway, no codes and could not detect. I have fear this could happen at higher speeds and cause great harm.

Day time running lights have burned out which the only way to fix this problem is to replace them at over 2800.00 per light. There are hundreds of forums stating that the Daytime running lights stop working and there is no financially feasible fix without complete headlight replacement. This is a safety issue that should be resolved by ford

the vehicle fails to accelerate when coming of a turn, the accelerator pedal does not respond for several seconds, then the vehicle lunges forward. Ford was contacted and no fix for this problem. I think this is very dangerous.

The daytime running lights have failed one by one. Now they are all out of service. These are white LED fixtures built into the area around the headlight. These are not user-serviceable. The dealer says they are going out on all trucks due to a wiring issue.

Recall 23S35 is not showing up for my vehicle even though I have the exact same issue. Dashboard alarm and message "PARK Brake Fault Service Now" and it activates my brakes. I took it to the dealership while it was still going on, even after I shut the truck off.

Ford had a safety recall # 23S30 for the rear light bar updated part number NL34-13N466-AE. this recall was done on my truck by the previous owner on 11/16/23 around 9400 miles. It failed again on me on [XXX] around 12000 miles. Failed again on [XXX] around 31000 miles. I found out that it failed again when someone told me that I had no backup lights. Ford is refusing to cover this 4 days out of my warranty. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The light bar on the tailgate that is the brake lights and reverse lights is known to get moisture inside and stop working. It is a known problem with Ford as they recalled them 2 years ago and replaced it under warranty. However the replacement part suffers from the same issue. So, my replacement light bar has stopped working, and even though I have Fords Premium Care extended warranty that includes all LED lighting, they will not cover the repair. This part is a safety item (brake lights and reverse lights) that is known to fail, it should be a safety recall item covered out of warranty anyway, and SURELY covered with an extended warranty (Ford Premium Care with Lighting added) but it apparently is not .... It seems that this safety issue should be covered and replaced Thanks

I own a 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning Lariat (VIN [XXX] ). Around June 6, 2025, I brought my truck to Apple Ford Shakopee for a scheduled appointment because I noticed moisture collecting inside the rear light bar. The service representative told me Ford considers that moisture normal, likely from a car wash, and that it would dry out on its own. At that time the truck had fewer than 36,000 miles and was still under the bumper-to-bumper warranty. The moisture never went away, and the light bar is now failing — my backup lights are dimming and flickering. I’ve since learned there was a recall (23S30) on 2022–2023 F-150 Lightning Lariat and Platinum trucks for micro-cracks in the rear light-bar lens that allow moisture in. My VIN currently shows no open recalls, but this failure appears identical to what the recall described. Additionally, owner forums are full of reports from other Lightning owners experiencing the same issue — including those who already had the recall repair completed, whose replacement light bars are now showing moisture again. This suggests the defect may persist even after recall repairs. I’m reporting this because the issue compromises the rear lighting and visibility of the vehicle. I hope Ford and NHTSA will review whether the recall scope or remedy should be expanded to include affected vehicles like mine and ensure owners aren’t left with expensive out-of-pocket repairs for a known manufacturing defect. Ford has had my truck at the dealer for 4 weeks trying to perform recall 25V315. The update has not been successful and Ford will not give me my truck back while they try and come up with a solution. My truck did not experience any problems with the rear camera screen freezing. Other trucks are experiencing similar problems.
