SummarySome 2019-2022 Edge/Nautilus, 2020-2022 Escape/Corsair, and 2021-2022 Bronco Sport vehicles equipped with a 2.0L EcoBoost or 2.3L EcoBoost may exhibit a lack of power with an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) P02AB, P0243, P0299, P25B3, P25B4, P2AB7, P2AB8 and/or P2AB9. This may be due to an inoperative wastegate actuator, missing wastegate actuator e-clip or non-visible damage to the actuator rod. If the diagnostic procedures lead to replacement of the turbocharger assembly, note that a lower level service component has been released K2GZ-9G488-B for Edge/Nautilus/Escape/Corsair/Bronco Sport for service to replace the actuator, actuator rod and both e-clips instead of a complete turbocharger assembly. When replacing the wastegate actuator, it is required to replace all parts included in the service kit.

Summary2021-2022 various Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit an erroneous diagnostic trouble code (DTC) U1A01:93 stored in the telematics control unit (TCU). This may be due to various software parameters within the TCU. If this DTC is identified during normal diagnostics, but the vehicle does not exhibit any customer concerns around the TCU operation, clear this DTC and no further repairs are recommended. If the DTC returns after being cleared or if the vehicle exhibits connectivity concerns with the TCU, continue with normal Workshop Manual (WSM) diagnostics. If set erroneously, this DTC does not cause any observable concerns or warning messages and does not affect vehicle performance or durability. Ford is developing a software update which will be delivered to the vehicle via an over-the-air (OTA) TCU update in July 2022 to prevent this DTC from setting erroneously.

SummarySome 2021-2022 Edge vehicles may exhibit various image issues such as infrared, distorted, glitching, flickering or fuzzy image in the rear view camera with DTC C1001 stored in the Image Processing Module B or Sync module and/or B115E stored in the body control module (BCM). This may be due to a poor circuit connection. Inspect both male and female sides of connectors C4357 and C2383A for loose, bent, or damaged terminals. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 100-00 General Information > Wire Terminal Inspection and Removal. If there is damage detected, refer to cell 005 of the wiring diagram to perform the repair procedure. In addition to the wiring inspection, make sure the IPMB and the APIM are in the latest software level. If there is no damage, continue with the normal diagnosis.

SummarySome 2018-2021 Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit inoperative remote features via the Ford Pass/Lincoln Way mobile app, incomplete user authorization, no modem electronic serial number (ESN) displayed or DTCs U2100 and/or B156D in the telematics control unit (TCU). These symptoms may persist even after performing a TCU software update and/or replacement. To correct this condition, start a new session with the latest version of the appropriate diagnostic scan tool and perform a PMI on the TCU. If issues persist, open a hotline assistance request and include the IDS version (if applicable) used to perform the PMI and the Authorization Status PID value in the TCU datalogger. For claiming use causal part 14G229 and applicable labor times in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

SummarySome 2021 Bronco, Edge/Nautilus customers may be unable to authorize the FordPass/LincolnWay app and the Enable Connected Services prompt is not showing in the SYNC screen with no diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) present in the telematics control unit (TCU) or the gateway module A (GWM). Before any repair attempts, try to authorize the vehicle via FordPass/LincolnWay app in order to verify the concern is still present. If the concern is present, make sure the GWM is at the latest software level. Start a new FDRS session and make sure the TCU is at the latest software level. If no software updates are available, remove the TCU and GWM fuses to reset the modules. Make sure the customer is able to authorize the vehicle from FordPass/LincolnWay to confirm the repair. If the concern is still present, follow normal diagnostics in Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 415-00.

SummarySome 2021 F-150/Mustang Mach-E/Bronco/Edge/Nautilus customers may experience an inoperative FordPass/LincolnWay app, features in FordPass/LincolnWay are not functioning and/or the customer cannot pair the FordPass/LincolnWay mobile app to the vehicle. If the telematics control unit (TCU) on the vehicle does not exhibit any diagnostic trouble codes (DTC), but the customer is running into these app concerns, this may be due to poor cell signal getting to the TCU. The TCU - Provisioning Application on the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool will provide cell signal strength information that can help to diagnose the source of the poor cell signal. If poor cell signal is found, refer to WSM 415-00 to help identify an antenna concern. Be sure the vehicle is an open environment.
