SummarySome 2021-2023 Bronco vehicles equipped with a soft top roof may exhibit rear quarter window(s) that do not stay attached to the rear window after driving the vehicle or using the soft top quick access cargo function to raise the rear of the soft top assembly for luggage compartment access. This may be due to a retention channel(s) on the rear window that is too narrow. Do not replace the rear quarter windows. To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to secure the rear quarter window(s) in place until a new rear window can be obtained to permanently correct this condition.

SummarySome 2021-2023 Bronco vehicles may exhibit the HVAC switching out of recirculation without input. This may be due to the air flow mode door inlet strategy while in recirculation mode. This strategy periodically purges the cabin air every 30-60 minutes depending on conditions the vehicle is operated in. If monitoring the Air Inlet Door PID with FDRS, it can go to approximately 50 % movement of the Air Inlet Door while in recirculation mode. During this climate control system strategy operation the recirculation button light should not go off. This is normal operation of the climate control system and no repairs should be attempted. If the recirculation button/light goes off then reference Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 412-00.

SummarySome 2023 Bronco vehicles equipped with 2 tops (soft top and hard top roofs) from the factory may exhibit interior rear trim covers (service base 7831289/7831288) that do not sit flush when the soft top roof is installed. This may be due to the vehicle coming with trim covers designed for use with hard top roofs only. Refer to the vehicle's window sticker to verify if vehicle was equipped from the factory with the 2 top option. For vehicles that meet this criteria, provide the customer with a left and right interior rear trim covers that will sit flush with both roof options. Order and provide to the customer service part numbers M2DZ-7831289-BA (left) and M2DZ-7831288-BA (right).

SummarySome 2021-2023 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with a 2.7L or 3.0L engine may exhibit an upper engine thump/knock noise coming from the left cylinder head. This condition is most noticeable at idle and may lessen at higher engine speed or while driving. This condition does not affect vehicle durability and will not get worse over time. Use a stethoscope or chassis ears and listen just behind the left cylinder head intake VCT solenoid on the cam cover to determine if the thump/knock noise is coming from the cylinder head/camshaft. The left cylinder head and the camshaft roller followers are available as service parts.

SummarySome 2022-2023 F-150/Bronco/Expedition/Navigator/Escape/Corsair/Bronco Sport/Edge/Mustang vehicles built on 04-Sep-2022 and through 30-Dec-2022 may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) P0230 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). The vehicle may also experience a no start or stall after start. This may be due to an internal PCM issue. If this DTC is present, verify the battery condition, then perform pin point test (PPT) KC of the Work Shop Manual (WSM), Section 310-01. If PPT KC leads to component replacement, start with replacing the PCM and then evaluate the vehicle. If the DTC returns, follow WSM, Section 310-01 PPT KC direction to address the issue.

SummarySome 2023 Bronco vehicles equipped with 2.7L engine may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P04DB stored in the powertrain control module. This may be due to a fault detected while in transport mode or a leak in the positive crankcase ventilation system. To correct the condition, deactivate transport mode, refer to WSM, Section 419-10. Perform a visual inspection of possible sources outlined in Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-08B pinpoint test (PPT) HG. Clear all DTCs, allow the vehicle to sit until engine coolant temperature is below 45ðC (113ðF). Start the vehicle and allow it to idle in park (P) for 1 minute. Using the appropriate scan tool, check for DTCs. If DTC P04DB returns, perform PPT HG in the WSM. WSM, Section 303-14B contains removal and installation instruction for the crankcase pressure sensor.

SummarySome 2020-2023 F-150 and 2021-2023 Bronco vehicles equipped with a 2.7L or 3.0L EcoBoost engine may exhibit a ticking/tapping or rattle type noise from the top front cover area of the engine on initial start-up after a cold soak of 6 hours or more that may last for 2-5 seconds. This may be due to a stuck internal component of the variable cam timing (VCT) unit. To correct the condition, replace all 4 of the VCT units following Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-01. For claiming, use causal part 6C525 and applicable labor operations in Section 6 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual. If labor times are not available, claim M-time.

SummaryFor 2000-2024 Ford and Lincoln vehicles, swapping a module from a vehicle for diagnosis purposes is likely to cause errors and is not recommended. It is also not recommended to order a replacement module using a vehicle identification number (VIN) from a different vehicle. Most modules on these affected vehicles are VIN/vehicle specific and hardware variations between modules do exist. Swapping a module from a vehicle or ordering a module using a different vehicle/VIN can cause ineffective repairs and additional vehicle down time. Make sure all appropriate Workshop Manual (WSM) procedures are followed when diagnosing the condition prior to all module replacements and only order modules using the correct VIN.
