My vehicle is listed as not being affected by any current recalls. When I purchased my vehicle in December 2025, it did not have an Owner's Manual in the glovebox, which I found concerning. Why do I not qualify to receive something as important as the owner's manual under that current recall regarding that safety issue?

This is a supplemental update to complaint #XXX filed February 7, 2026, regarding my 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD Diesel (VIN: [XXX] ). The vehicle experienced a sudden and complete loss of propulsion on January 21, 2026, consistent with the defect mechanism described in Recall 24V797. Recall software was installed May 27, 2025. Failure occurred eight months later with no warning. GM's response has been as follows: A Field Technical Service Engineer made a remote determination that the failure did not match the recall without physically inspecting the transmission. GM Executive Resolution required teardown at customer expense with no reimbursement guarantee. The authorized dealership (Dave Kirk Chevrolet, Crossville TN) declined to perform a documented inspection -- citing unwillingness, not inability. Written refusal was withheld for over one week. GM's Executive Resolution liaison admitted she had known of the refusal and withheld that information from me, directly delaying my ability to act. The final repair order (RO 50479) contains a self-documented notation: "Added tech notes 3/16/26" -- eight weeks after the January inspection. The transmission pan was fully removed, fluid was discarded, and pan bolts were not reinstalled. The only photograph provided does not reflect as-found conditions. Evidence integrity has been materially compromised. The vehicle has been without propulsion since January 21, 2026. Full chronology, documentation, and supporting evidence are attached. The transmission died on my 2.7L Turbo Max engine in my 2022 Silverado. The "D" was flashing and giving no acceleration when pressing on the gas. The vehicle was also hard to shift. From my understanding the 2.7L turbo max is the only engine in this time frame that hasn't been re-called due to transmission issues.

The rear tailgate started opening when I opened my doors and also when driving down the road. I would pull up and tail gate was wide open. I was okay but thankfully nothing in the back came out and hit vehicles behind me. No warning lights and anything. Dealership said it’s a faulty tailgate switch. Which 800,000 vehicles were recalled but not mine. Even though it’s the same year as the recalled vehicles. Gm needs to be held accountable for all of them. This was a problem for 3 weeks. Constant dead batteries, jumping vehicle, closing tailgate and causing lights to go crazy. This is a definite safety concern. Had to wait a week to get into dealership for diagnosis. Than over a week for the parts.

Rear power sliding window shattered after remote vehicle ignition was started in cold weather last month. It blew outward. There was a recall for this issue, but my Vin # was not included despite it being a 2017 Chevy Silverado. the recall number is: N192265660 Why was my Vin # not included? I am working to now get repaired by Chevy dealership. But questioning its exclusion from recall.

GM should be ashamed of themselves not covering the shift to park issue that they have created. This is a known issue and should be recalled. It is impacting thousands of consumers.

Transmission Control Valve Body (Recall #N242454440) Your truck is part of the massive recall issued late last year (expanded in February 2026) regarding the 10-speed Allison transmission. The Problem: Internal wear in the valve body causes a drop in pressure, which can cause the rear wheels to lock up suddenly while you're driving. Multiple occurrences. It has been taken to the shop for this issue.

My 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Bison ZR2 (VIN [XXX] ) suddenly lost all power steering, acceleration, and propulsion while driving my children to school at approximately 8:00 AM on March 16, 2026. The truck came to a complete stop with no warning lights or prior indication. This matches the exact ‘critical issue with the engine and transmission system’ alert I received from OnStar Advanced Diagnostics the same morning. Steering was completely unresponsive and I had no acceleration. My children were passengers — this was extremely dangerous. I have not driven the vehicle since and have requested towing to the dealer. Please investigate under any open probes into 2024 Silverado HD power-loss and steering failures. Similar to the issues that were on the gas version of this engine and the recall associated with it. The engine seized on the expressway. When it was towed to the dealership, they said it was catastrophic engine failure. They found a lot metal shavings in the oil pan. They did not diagnose any further due to cost. At the time it happened, there were no warning lights or check engine lights on.

The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the accelerator pedal was depressed, and the vehicle hesitated before jolting into the next gear. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle occasionally lost automotive power while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic who was able to retrieve DTC: P0452; and recommended that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The contact had taken the vehicle back to the same mechanic and was advised that the fuel pump had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 180,000.

I was driving south on interstate 15 freeway I was on the 3 lane in the middle of the road I was driving around 65-70 mph when my 1500 Silverado 2016 loose engine power and started to slow down I couldn’t get out fast enough and I almost got hit by three cars because I was driving so slow I pulled over emergency lines and the truck didn’t even start

The Variable Geometry Turbocharger Actuator failed on my 2019 2500HD Silverado. There was a significant decrease in power. This was most noticeable on uphill grades where speed would drop to between 35 and 40 mph on a 75mph speed limit highway. On several occasions, vehicles came close to hitting me because of my slow speed.

My dash has been displaying intermittently “Service electric trailer brakes”. I have recently purchased a 30’ travel trailer. After driving a couple hundred miles with trailer in tow. The code started appearing even with the trailer not connected. I have contacted GM and they have indicated no recall on electric brake controller.

On 1/31/2026, while returning from an AKC event with my XXX year old border collie, I was traveling on IXXX at approximately 70MPH in the left hand lane passing other traffic. As I started up a hill in a remote area, I began to hear a knocking sound coming from the engine compartment that sounded like a rod knocking and the truck began to struggle to continue up the hill. It then lost all power, a message stating to shift to neutral and restart flashed on infotainment screen, I shifted to neutral and pushed the start button, but everything went blank. I had to struggle to merge back into right lane and eventually over to the breakdown lane, approximately 5 miles from the nearest exit. I was forced to remain on the side of a busy interstate for approximately two hours during an unusually cold day for Florida that consisted of snow flurries while waiting for roadside assistance. Luckily, I was able to arrive at the dealership 5 minutes before closing and was able to get my truck checked in. The service writer knew exactly what the likely issue was when I described my ordeal, and it was partially confirmed when she pulled the Christmas tree of codes from the computer that my truck was throwing. It should be noted that the truck would not restart after the catastrophic failure that stopped the motor at 70MPH on the interstate and would not shift to neutral for the tow truck operator to load or unload onto flatbed. Subsequently, Techs determined that engine failed due to suspected internal damage to crankshaft and motor was replaced under warranty along with torque converter. The failed engine serial number was [XXX] but I was never notified or included in current recall 25V274, It did not show as active recall in GM App nor was it inspected during LOF visits at various GM Service departments. My truck was in GM service from 1/31 - 2/21 for the engine replacement, Mileage on 2024 Silverado 1500 High Country was 25,274 at failure. 2023 1500 RST 6.2. Recall was done and performed last year. Truck passed so they changed the oil and sent me on my way. I have had zero issues up until last week. My gut tells me the replacement is going to be the same engine with the same failing parts that I already have so expect I may have issues in the future even after the new engine. -on interstate going 55MPH, went to accelerate to 70MPH and throttle did nothing; no rpm,no down shift, no speed change. Just dead. Suddenly the truck shut off the engine and kicked my transmission into neutral. I tried to restart the truck hoping it would fire just long enough to get me to a safe zone with no luck as the starter would turn but nothing from the engine. Mind you this was rush hour in a construction zone with no shoulder available at the moment. Luckily I coasted, got to the slow lane and was able to veer off safely onto the side of an exit ramp. No notice, no way to safely limp my truck, just a complete shut down. How this isn’t a lawsuit or more people haven’t been seriously injured or worse is beyond me- a total shutdown while driving highway speeds and no way to overcome or at least limit the speed for a short period is unbelievable. Even though warranty is now through 2033/150k miles for the powertrain due to the recall, and I’ve also thought about adding 3-4 years extended for bumper to bumper with all the tech, I now have ZERO faith in my truck or my safety once I get it back. I’m sure the trade value will also be considerably low due to the 6.2. I’ve owned Chevys for 12 years and am either going back to the 5.3 or switching brands altogether. Possibly a 5.7 hemi without etorque.
