Due to General Motors AFM lifter defect and oil consumption issues that have been proven faulty, #4 AFM gave out on us in February of 2026 costing us approximately $5,000 in Engine repairs on our 2013 Chevrolet Silverado plus several tow bills and the inconvenience of not having a vehicle for weeks. GM Recently lost a class action lawsuit for this issue that they have failed to fix but the lawsuit didnt pay enough to fix the issues. GM knew about the oil consumption issues and lifter failures with these vehicles since 2007 and didnt do anything. To this day, there are still issues including on new vehicles.

The contact's son owns a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While the contact's son was driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The vehicle started shaking erratically, and several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was driven to the shoulder of the road, and the engine seized. The vehicle was towed to the son's residence. The vehicle was later towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with lifter failure in cylinder #5 and a failed CAM shaft. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was being repaired. The contact was informed that the failure was a manufacturer's defect. The contact referenced an unknown recall; however, the VIN was not associated with the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The manufacturer agreed to assist with a 10 percent discount on the cost of the repair. The failure mileage was approximately 109,758.

Warning lights came on while driving down I-43 in Walworth county, WI. The "hot oil" light stayed illuminated. The vehicle ran until I stopped on the off ramp where it shut itself down and would not restart. The hazard lights would only work briefly then turn off.

On March 6, 2026 exactly one month ago from today, I was driving my Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ZR2 with a 6.2 liter gas engine to a family vacation. We were traveling through our home state to another state. I was driving and my wife, along wiht two children (age [XXX] and [XXX] ) and my family dog were all riding inside the truck. We were traveling at posted highway speed approximately three hours from our home. There was a whine from the engine compartment that got progressively louder in about 30 seconds. Then the engine began to lose power. We were near a chevrolet dealer so I pulled in the service bay, where the technician swiftly told me to cut off the engine, that my crankshaft was broken and it lead to catastrophic engine failure. The vehicle is available for inspection at the same Chevrolet dealer we visited one month ago. My family's safety was put at risk because we were traveling at highway speed and the vehicle witnessed catastrophic engine failure. Due to catastrophic engine failure, the engine has not been turned on by the dealer since departing the service department. The vehicle was been inspected by the service department at a certified Chevrolet dealer. Interestingly, there were no warning lights or any type of warning other than the severe sound coming from the engine compartment. Prior to engine failure, there were no other symptoms of the problem other than the low pitched whine that progressively got louder over a ~30 second period of time. Bearing and Engine failure, Had to pay out of pocket for a new engine at 78,000 miles. The problem was diagnosed by my local dealer Denoyer Chevrolet in holland Mi. There was no warning lamps, messages, nor symptoms. Dealer had all the info on date, inspection and repair. Engine failures like this are very dangerous as they can cause catastrophic injury or damage. General Motors should be held accountable and made to pay back customers for there damaged products.

My 2019 truck with 50k miles on it, broke down and nearly caused an accident. The safety recall for the wiring harness chafing was not assigned to my VIN. I had vehicle towed to find out my loss of power and 17 error codes were due to the wires rubbing due to improperly installed by the dealer per this NHTSA. I called the 1800 number for Chevy and they told me my VIN wasn’t “Picked” to be part of this recall. I asked why, my vehicle did exactly what recall said. They said sorry we can’t do anything. I could have died the way the truck acted. I need a complaint filed and assistance having the dealer add my VIN to this recall. Any assistance will be appreciated.

While driving the vehicle, the vehicle jolted and made a clunk noise. The check engine light came on accompanied by a message on the Dash stating "Reduce acceleration, Drive with Care". The vehicle went into "limp mode", and appeared to be engaged in a single gear. The vehicle was traveling at approximately 30 mph when the transmission malfunctioned. The vehicle was taken to my local Chevy dealer, where they scanned the vehicle and determined that the Valve Body was the issue, based on the scan result. The vehicle is a 2024 Chevy Silverado 2500HD (Gas). It has 29k miles on it. The vehicle was purchased as a "certified Pre-owned" (lease return). Within 20 miles of being driven from the dealer after purchase, I experienced a jolt & clunk. The failure occured 42 miles later.

What is happening with my vehicle is a major safety concern in my opinion for myself and for my family. I purchased the vehicle on February 18,2026 from Ryan Ford in sealy,TX with approx 32,800 miles. The first incident was on March 16 with 33,718 miles, my daughter and I went to leave the Lowe’s parking lot and my vehicle would not go in reverse. It however would go in drive, so after being pushed back out of the parking spot we left for our home.(this part of not going in reverse I do have on video) Once on the feeder road and up to approx 45mph my vehicle went completely out of gear and had to coast to a stop on the side the road. Turned vehicle off and on and it went back in gear, after making it home I made and appointment with the dealership and dropped it off that day. I was informed no codes came up and the dealership could not get the issue to duplicate so I received my vehicle back. The second incident was on March 21 trying to leave the convenient store, I put my vehicle in reverse and pressed on the gas to go backward and nothing happened. Then I pressed on the gas again and it threw my vehicle in reverse and jolted my truck back several feet before I could press on the brake. Luckily no one or no object was behind me. The third incident was on April 3rd trying to leave Walmart. My truck would not go in reverse again. I pressed the gas pedal several times and out of nowhere again it threw itself in reverse and jolted my truck back again. (I also have this on video as well).

Batteries being drawn down from a parasitic draw. Tailgate won’t operate from outside the truck and infotainment system malfunctioning also lights flashing periodically. This is the second time in about a month this has happened. The first time the dealer said I had bad batteries so I replaced both of them with Napa batteries. Waiting to hear from the dealer now on the findings this time.

Violent shuddering, as if vehicle does not know what gear to be in. unpredictable harsh and delayed gear changes. Many repairs have been made, including transmission replacement, but issue still remains. Newberg Chevrolet dealership that did all previous repairs has denied to schedule an appointment for follow up diagnosis and needed repairs. This shuddering vehicle is unpredictable and unsafe to drive, yet GM has refused to help.

McCredy Motors replaced the engine due to a recallin 6/2025. Husband was driving from our home [XXX] to town and we had made it to [XXX] . Husband stated there was no warning, no engine light, no oil lights, no indication of over heating. Just a loud clunking all of a sudden, nocking, grinding and crackling. Husband immediately pulled over left the truck over night at the Greene town barn and we called in the morning to have the truck towed back to McCredy motors on the morning of 4/4/26. Reading up on this I have found the even after the recall and a new engine customers are still having catastrophic engine failures. This is absolutely what I feel we are currently experiencing. McCredy Motors will diagnose on Monday when the Certified Chevy dealership opens. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I am reporting another engine failure on the 6.2L L87. This engine passed the initial recall testing and the oil was changed to 0W40 on September 30, 2025. However, my engine in my 2023 LT Trail Boss started knocking on Friday, March 20, 2026 (at 22,500 miles) after I picked up my children from school. Thankfully it started as I pulled into my driveway with them so they weren’t in any danger. No loss of power on the truck or warning lights visible. However, it was loud enough and odd enough for my [XXX] olds to even notice the sound in the cab. It was dropped off at the dealership on that Saturday morning and the GM dealership was finally able to look at it on Wednesday, March 25th and confirmed what was expected. The advisor stated the engine will need to be replaced due to the engine heading towards bearing/crankshaft failure. I am still currently without my truck as of today (April 4th) with no repair date in sight. I will say that the dealership service advisor has been very good about communicating about its status. However, he stated that he has had no luck finding an new engine and is unable to give a timetable in getting one. He did offer to start a PO for a rental car through enterprise. He stated they are not giving loaners, but could get a rental car. He also stated that it would not be a truck due to GM only giving $50 per day towards a rental. So here I sit currently without my truck. I see multiple reports about the engines being on back order and even the replacement engines are failing within the fist 500 miles. Some reports indicating they are on the third or fourth engine. Something needs to done about getting these trucks bought back by GM. They have clearly failed with this engine and are replacing the failed engines with the same thing! It is a well documented manufacturing flaw and design! I am thankful it occurred near my home. I would not have been happy with a catastrophic failure on a highway with my [XXX] old children in the truck!! INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INF

The 6.2L V8 motor is known to have faulty internals. I was driving down the highway and the motor shut off. The vehicle needs a new motor now. GM has offered an oil viscosity change to 0w-40. That was done 20k miles ago. This vehicle now needs a new motor
