ON MONDAY, 6/15/26, WITH APPROX 45,400 MILES, I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND TRUCK SAID SERVICE TRANSMISSION. THE GEARS WOULD SHIFT, BUT IT LAGGED A LITTLE BIT. I SCHEDULED AN APPT FOR TWO DAYS LATER, AND ONLY DROVE IT WHEN I ABSOLUTELY HAD TO, WHICH WAS ONLY TWICE BEFORE MY SCHEDULED APPT. I GET IN IT TO DRIVE AND IT SAYS SERVICE TRANSMISSION- UNABLE TO SHIFT SOON, THEN ON MY WAY TO THE DEALERSHIP, IT SAYS ALL OF THAT, PLUS SERVICE DRIVER ASSIST SYSTEM. CHAVY'S QUALITY ASSURANCE TEAM NEEDS TO GET IT TOGETHER! THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS.

- #11744825June 17, 2026SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
On Febuary 13th 2026 I was involved in a wreck where I re-ended another stopped vehicle. There was no warning light or automated braking executed. I braked hard but not soon enough. There was no malfunction warnings or lights displayed before (or after ) the accident showing it to be inoperative. It has been in to the dealer 3 times since. Yes it is available for inspection. Was told that it will not work if you have your foot on brake or accelerator by one technician. This truck use to brake for no reason even going 70 mph on highway. I am pretty sure GM has reprogramed to fix that issue leaving the sensitivitu so low it now does not work at all.

10 speed transmission failed at 70K miles. Metal found in the torque converter. Manufacturer recommended routine maintenance was performed on transmission. There needs to be a recall on 2020 to 2021 vehicles with the 10 speed transmission due to the reporting of safety issues of the vehicles locking up while driving. I was lucky to feel the issue happening and getting off the road before it was able to lock up on me causing serious injuries. This needs to be addressed and taken seriously before someone loses their life. Best regards, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Purchased 2019 Chevrolet Silverado High Country Edition with the 6.2L engine and 143K miles for my son. The vehicle had a clean service history on Car Fax. On the day we purchased the vehicle, we drove it home and noticed it was shuttering at times. I used my computer scanner and it came back with a misfire cylinder #5. I troubleshot the issues and noted that the most common thing was a spark plug. Therefore, I replaced the spark plug and it drove much better. Two weeks later, my son was driving vehicle on I-40 near Nashville TN and without warning, vehicle stalled, locking steering wheel in place! Check engine lights came on and instructed him to place in neutral and restart, which he promptly did. The vehicle started, but went in limp mode making loud noises in engine before shutting off again. Luckily, traffic was minimal at 8 pm and he was able to get it over to the shoulder and avoid any injuries or accident. Towed it to Nick Mayer Chevrolet in Dickson, TN where they diagnosed it with catastrophic engine failure and needed to be completely replaced. This is the same issue that GM is being sued for and have somehow managed to take the stance that the lifter/cam/DFM issue only existed in 2020-newer models. The 2019 is when they changed to the newer body style and the new Gen V L87 engine in the 6.2. Despite the clean vehicle history, dealership reached out to GM and they stated they would not help cover any repairs but would gladly take 14K to fix it. The 2019-2026 models all need to be recalled due to this safety issue and fixed before catastrophic engine failure claims another victim financially or worse!

- #11744609June 16, 2026ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INTEGRATED TRAILER BRAKE CONTROL
The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500. The contact stated that while driving 35 MPH with a trailer hitched to the vehicle, the trailer brake failed to respond on and off independently. Neither an independent mechanic nor a dealer was contacted. The trailer brake failure warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact associated the failure with N232414840 - Customer Satisfaction Program (Equipped with BRK APL CTRL FEATURE-INTEGRATED TRAILER BRAKE); however, the VIN was not included in the program. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not under recall. No assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.

Engine failed and no light or warning besides check oil was shown on truck. The electrical system also went out (a year before engine failure) so car wouldn’t start.

When on the highway and attempted to accelerate to pass in the passing lane, there was a loud pop, the truck rapid decelerated and my son was forced to drive off the burm to avoid being hit by a semi truck. It’s been determined that it was caused by a lifter failure due to the AFM system

I was driving down the XXX Expressway Sunday, XXX, with my children in my vehicle. This is a very heavily traveled highway in [XXX] with heavy traffic. My 2024 Chevy Silverado 3500 Diesel HD Truck with 25,500 miles suddenly started throwing multiple codes, lost power, and steering. Fortunately I was able to "roll into" the emergency lane while muscling the steering in that direction and engaged the emergency brake. My other son was following shortly behind me in his vehicle and pulled over to assist us about 30 mins after my truck was sitting stalled in the HWY. He parked his truck behind mine, put on his hazards, and we were transferring gear from my truck to his truck. At this point my 2024 Chevy HD Silverado Diesel started rolling back on it's own and nearly crushed my son's friend. The parking break was on and it suddenly released on it's own. It took 3 grown men to stop it from crushing my son's friend. The force was so strong that when he lifted his hand to try to stop the truck from rolling, it broke the right rear tail light. He could have been crushed between our two trucks from this situation. I have never been notified by GM of any recalls, however, the truck had to be towed to Ferman Cheverlotte service on Adamo Dr, Tampa Fl and is currently sitting on their lot. I was told by the service tech Michael Stevens that the vehicle had several open recalls that they would address but did not offer any information about what could be wrong. After searching online, I found that GM IS aware of this issue and sent several service bulletins about this exact problem. I had contacted the Ferman service center the week before to bring the truck in because the AC was out and made an appointment for service on Tuesday. The day after I made the appointment my batteries died and had to be replaced by AAA.It is disturbing to know GM and FERMAN Service centers are aware of this safety issue on these HD trucks and never informed me, the consumer. While traveling on the interstate towing a fifth-wheel camper going 55 mph, a message appeared on the dash instructing me to press the Start button. I pressed the Start button, but the vehicle would not start. When I pressed the Start button the entire instrument cluster and navigation display went out. We were able to safely coast to the breakdown lane, skidding to a stop. We remained in the breakdown lane on a busy highway on a holiday weekend in 90+ degree heat for 7+ hours before being towed to a nearby dealership. When the right type of tow truck arrived (capable of towing the truck and camper off the highway), the driver had to remove the driveshaft before the vehicle could be towed to the nearby dealership. This is because of the electronic shift. If the vehicle is not running it cannot be shifted out of park without a special tool. We felt very unsafe sitting in the breakdown lane with cars whizzing by shaking our camper and vehicle at each vehicle passing. Not 1 time did the police stop to provide assistance/make sure all were ok, etc. The vehicle has since been towed to the local dealership and after they inspected the vehicle it was determined the engine seized due to debris in the engine. A replacement engine is on backorder. The engine had already been inspected for the recall and GM 6.2L L87 "fix" was performed, but this did not stop the engine from seizing.
