T ruck left my wife totally stranded in the middle of a busy intersection. It was running but would not accelerate. I ran the codes and 2 codes that has never popped up before was P1682 and P2138. One said it could be the ignition and the other said it could be accelerator position sensor on gas peddle. My mechanic said this is a communication problem where the wires go into the ECM. Bad connection or moisture getting in. I have had a few wonky codes pop up that we believe to be bad connections. GM NEEDS TO GET THIS RECALLED AND RESOLVED. Trucks just stopping in the middle of the highway and in traffic is super dangerous. After i pushed on connection going into ecm, it started and I have not been able to duplicate code. We will see once it rains if it comes back. Way too many computers running these cars. A computer should never be involved with the running of engine, acceleration, braking or steering. KEEP THE COMPUTERS FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEMS!

I am submitting a complaint regarding recurring transmission issues with my 2022 Chevrolet Silverado (VIN: [XXX] ). These problems have compromised my safety and that of others on the road. Multiple repair attempts and discussions with GM have not resolved the issue. Incident Details: On [XXX], around 9 a.m., I experienced a severe transmission malfunction documented on dash cam. When I shifted out of park, the vehicle lunged forward, forcing me to brake suddenly, despite not applying gas. Minutes later, on an exit ramp, the transmission downshifted without throttle input, causing the rear end to fishtail as it attempted to throttle out and sounded stuck in neutral. Repair History: This issue has led to repeated repairs in January, February, and April of 2023 and 2024, as well as September 2023 and 2024. Despite these efforts, GM released a technical service bulletin classifying this transmission behavior as “normal” and has refused further repairs. Safety Impact: These unpredictable shifts and lack of responsiveness have created hazardous situations. Lunging, uncommanded downshifting, and rear fishtailing make it difficult to maintain control, especially in high-traffic areas. Request for NHTSA Investigation: Given these safety concerns, I urge NHTSA to investigate whether this defect affects other vehicles of this make and model year. An investigation may prevent future incidents and prompt GM to address this dangerous issue. Additional documentation, including dash cam footage, repair records, and communication with GM, is available to support this complaint. We bought this vehicle used at Goodwin Chevrolet in Oxford Maine in November 2019. It has 80,000 on it. We were told by our mechanics yesterday that it won't take another sticker because of the frame being rusted. GM knew they were having problems with these frames on these vehicles. I don't have an extended warranty. So now we have a vehicle that is no good to us. Completely unacceptable. I have a November 14th appointment with Goodwin to look at this truck. No idea what to do next.

- #11622744October 30, 2024ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:INSTRUMENT PANEL:SPEEDOMETER/ODOMETER, AIR BAGS
The contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer to be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V050000 (Air Bags); however, the contact was informed that the instrument panel failed to allow access to the odometer and the recall repair was denied. The dealer informed the contact that for the recall repair to be completed, an odometer reading was required. The contact stated that the instrument panel was functioning intermittently. The contact was concerned that the recall repair was not related to the odometer failure and provided the dealer with an approximate mileage; however, the recall remedy was still denied. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 178,002.

While putting bottom seat cover on my new truck in the back seat, I pushed the seat cover under the back rest and hit a very sharp piece of metal and cut my finger. I wrapped my finger up and continued the install. On the other side of the truck I hit another sharp piece of metal behind the back rest and cut another finger. No medical treatment was required. I dont know if the metal is part of the seat bracket or what, I cannot see it.

- #11622693October 30, 2024SERVICE BRAKES
A couple months ago, my wife was backing down a sloped driveway the brakes gave out and would not stop the truck. She had to push the brake extremely hard to get it to stop and the service brake assist light came on briefly. It then went off and the truck's brakes came back. It happened to her one other time in a similar situation going slow in a driveway. Today I was driving and was slowing down coming to a stop sign moving forward when the brakes gave out so I had to push the brakes extremely hard to come to a stop which felt like they were fighting back and I almost hit the person in front of me. The service brake assist light also came on. There are known recalls on this part in prior years of this same vehicle and others. This recall should be expanded to 2019 Chevy Silverado's as well. I should not have to pay to fix a known issue.

The passenger ide door mirror is manufactured with flat glass and not Convex glass. The flat glass field of view is not nearly wide enough for this large truck and it creates large blind spots. This flat glass creates a substantial risk for an accident while traveling on the roadway, highway or even maneuvering while parking. It is impossible to adjust the flat glass mirror to indicate a smaller car to the right side of this truck, and at the same time, approaching traffic from the right rear. Replacing the flat glass mirror on the passenger side with a commonly used passenger "convex" door mirror glass would correct this hazardous situation.

I was towing a dump trailer with gravel in it down a gravel road grade (downhill around 5-7mph) and received a warning on the DTC about the trailer brake being disconnected. All of the lights on the trailer were still working, however the trailer brakes no longer functioned and all of the braking was transferred to the truck. The trailer slowly pushed the rear end of the truck around causing the vehicle to jackknife and causing significant damage to the bumper and bed. After researching this post incident, there appears to be numerous complaints and TSB from chevy regarding a faulty brake controller when towing a trailer where the voltage can backfeed into the vehicle causing the vehicle brake controller to disable. Currently working with insurance to come up with a damage quote. Bulletin # 23-NA-149

The sway bar detached from the frame running down the road due to a faulty installation completed by the production line. My wife heard a clunking sound and recognized instability in the vehicle during turns she immediately stopped driving it until it could be evaluated. Apparently during manufacture the mounting holes for the sway bar were threaded too big for the bolts used so they installed helicoil repairs into the frame which failed allowing the sway bar to detach. I have pictures from the dealership showing the failure and chevy is trying to weld a nut into the frame to be able to reattach the assembly at my expense.

Rupture of Oil Cooler Lines. NHTSA previously completed a safety field investigation. GM issued a bulletin to their dealerships (only). Has both safety and environmental impacts. Vehicle suddenly losses oil pressure and provides a warning light to turn engine off. This will strand the driver wherever and whenever it should occur. I have spoken with GM, they are aware of the problem, but will not recall for the problem. This scenario also exposes the environment to the sudden loss of oil to the ground and surrounding area.

vehicle has approximately 45k miles, We were 2.5 hours away from home on a paved highway driving 55mph and the front passenger side ball joint failed and upper control arm separated also Instantly no brakes causing an accident . This is very dangerous and is going to kill people , we are lucky we didn't roll . I'm now afraid this will happen to the other side? chevy will not take the responsibility to fix it , our extended warranty only covered the upper control arm and not any of the other parts that had damage due to the ball joint . it was a 2.5 hour tow as well . Also the tow truck driver said within a week this was the 4th Chevy truck with the same issue 2 of them Rolled . Side note , As I looked into this I haver found other of this same model vehicle to have the same problem , one that it happened at around 40k miles he fixed it then it happened again on the other side at around 50k miles on the same vehicle . There needs to be a recall , Chevy has other models that have had this recall but no recall for my vehicle? links to related proof there is a big problem [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The tailgate spontaneously unlatches without operator input while driving or parked. The dealer thinks it is caused by moisture in the latch gate switch. The tailgate has spontaneously unlatched on several occasions while pulling a trailer without the driver/operator being aware this has occurred. Then when making a turn the tailgate wedges into the trailer jack and makes the tailgate inoperable. The bodyshop quote to repair the tailgate is: 2,275.92 Dinsdale Chevrolet dealer says there is not a recall and has declined to pay for repairs. Contact was made with GM Customer Service, "Reggie" on 10/23/2024 at 11:46, 866.636.2273 He noted, as there has not been a recall, they are not responsible for the issue.
