Driving at the speed limit 65-70 miles ph my truck started to slow in speed the tire sensor came on then the truck began to smoke and the brakes locked up at a high speed, lucky for me there was no one behind me. I was able to limp to a safe spot and park the truck would not MOVE at all..After an hour I tried to move it again it would not go into drive. Had to tow it to the dealership..$$$$ later they say well we can't recreate the problem so it's drivable. I drive 2 blocks and it stops in traffic almost causing a collision. Had it towed home and for 3 moths now it has sat while I have to continue paying payments on a NON running 2020 with only 102 thousand miles on it this is CRIMINAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! was told possible $62k to repair but no guarantee it would stay fixed!!!!!!!!!! Criminal and should not be on me I am paying still. But if something is not done I will let it get repo..I am [XXX] old this was to be my last newer vehicle I have had to borrow money again and bought an older 03 silverado that is running great. POWER TRAIN
The transmission in this truck has been an issue since it had 50k miles on it. It doesn’t shift correctly or smooth at all. It shifts hard, slow to engage, studders, jerks, pops without any load. This is my second 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with same issue except it needed transmission replaced and didn’t know when they’d get another transmission in as they’re on backorder and these are work truck and can’t be down long - dealer said this is a common issue with these trucks - so I got rid of that one. If the dealers know this is a common issues and attorneys are sending letter for class action lawsuit against GM this should tell you something- recall them! No lights have ever come on with any warning on either truck.

Open recall with no remedy. Called GM and they cannot give me any timeframe as far as when a fix will be available. GM has proposed changing the software to limit the truck to fifth gear if excessive wear of the valve is detected but that is not a fix for the issue and they cannot even give a timeframe for that or what they will do to remedy the issue when there is excessive wear. The issue can cause the rear wheels to lock up while driving and is a major safety issue compounded with winter driving conditions yet GM cannot provide any information. I cannot even replace the vehicle as the vehicle cannot be sold in my state of Missouri with an open recall.

They sold me a vehicle at the dealer. Three days after I bought it, I had to buy tires for it. Because they were in bad condition, they also charged me for a liquid called 3m nitro and I don't understand why they put it in if the tires were in bad condition, and they also promised to fix some details on the bumper and details on the paint on the body of the truck, and the transmission has already started to fail, and they don't want to help me or take responsibility. The truck still has a Dealer warranty.

SUSPENSION
The upper ball joint on the passengers side failed or separated. This caused the truck to lose brake pressure and put the occupants lives in danger. The vehicle is currently at a GMC dealership in Killeen, TX being repaired. There were no warning signs or lamps.

The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that upon reversing out of the driveway and shifting into drive(D), the vehicle jerked several times, then the vehicle responded as needed. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure mostly occurred when the engine was cold. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where an unknown software update was performed; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the contact was informed that the manufacturer had advised that the vehicle was operating as designed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not under recall. The failure mileage was approximately 52,000.

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that parts were not yet available for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

2023 Silverado with 10 speed transmission. 20K miles. On 11/30 received "Reduced Power" message, quickly followed by "Service Transmission Now Unable to Shift Soon", which was quickly followed by "Service Transmission". CEL came on. Transmission was shifting erratically, and not shifting into higher gears. Clearly a safety concern. Dropped it off at a local dealer on 12/1. Dealer service advisor contacted me 12/12, saying they were finally able to diagnose the problem and the transmission needs a new valve body. However, the valve body is on back order and there is no estimated time for when it will be available. The internet is awash with stories of the same issue with GM's 10 speed transmission in the light duty pick up trucks, leaving owners waiting for weeks, even months before their vehicle is repaired.

We were on vacation driving to Florida by the time we arrived 1500 miles later I had no brakes. This happened on a Friday. We called our mechanic in Oklahoma to explain it to him. He had us check a few things to see if it was a number of thing. He said it was the brakes vacuum pump. He had one in the shop for the same thing. You can't get in to a Chevrolet dealer to have it fixed in the time that we had. My husband did fix it but was extremely scared to drive in South Florida with limited to no brakes. My truck only had under 80 thousand miles on it. We live in a rural area so it's not like constant braking.

VISIBILITY/WIPER
Sudden and violent shattering of the rear window during the use of the rear defogger. The passenger side panel of the rear window on my 2015 2500HD LTZ suddenly and violently shattered on 12/09/2024. Glass fell out of the window while traveling on the highway at 70 MPH! The attached images appear to indicate the shattering started from the lower corner of the window nearest the sliding section and the center of the window is where the glass blew out of the window. Replacement is scheduled and will cost me my $500 deductible and insurance company approximately an additional $350+.
