SUSPENSION
Passenger side Upper control arm broke in two about to re-enter I75. Had been on I 75 and was going back on it when handling went wonky on Service road. You can see from the rust in the break this stamped part was cracked a while. Vehicle has not hit or run over anything since I have owned it. Had I been on I75 at highway speed it would have been deadly.

Engine lost power while driving. Was able to make it to the dealer. They stated that the lifters were shredded and the camshaft was damaged so the engine had to be replaced along with the radiator due metal shavings found everywhere. Vehicle was maintain at the dealership and only had 95000 miles. Dealer did not offer any assistance and GM only offered 10% off. Purchased engine on my own and had installed.

The message "Engine Power Reduced" was displayed. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road. The contact was able to drive to the residence at slow speeds. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the automatic transmission valve needed to be replaced. The dealer replaced the transmission valve. Additionally, the dealer replaced the rear and front differentials and the transfer case. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. I was passing a line of vehicles when a semi started over into my lane. I hit the gas, to avoid being hit by the truck. When I did warning light on my vehicle appeared on the display. I lost speed and immediately heard a loud knocking from the engine. I was on an open 4 lane highway and knew there was a dealer close by. I drove to the dealership, I left the vehicle running so they could hear it. The service tech told me they had seen "several" vehicles in with the same problem with the 5.3L . I left the vehicle there and was given a loaner. They told me the lifter had gone bad when I sped up quickly, and the camshaft was damaged. Further research by me has discovered a lot of vehicles have this same issue due to the active fuel management system. I chose not to pay Chevrolet $7000 to fix the engine, and currently have it in a private shop being repaired. A less experienced driver may have slammed on the brakes or swerved and caused a major accident. My vehicle did slow down on its own, but I was able to keep control and safely maneuver to the right lane.

chevy has a well known issue with lifters failing in the 5.3 motor because of the afm. it has failed on me twice and had to pay twice to get this fixed and i’m concern one day the engine will just blow like other people have complained about. i even went to the dealership and even spoke to the part department and they have admitted this but no fix for it has been put in place. we need a recall on this motor that’s effecting thousands of people.

I was cruising on [XXX] with about 55MPH, and the engine suddenly shut off without any indication. I had to turn on emergency light and came to a full stop in the traffic to restart the engine. It was a route with very heavy traffic in New Jersey, and the lost of power was very scaring and exposed me to a very serious safety risk. ENGINE
My engine is out due to the piston rings failing and is at a dealership waiting for a new engine. The engine for this vehicle is on national back order with no ETA in sight. Out of nowhere the low oil light came on and I had to stop immediatley to check it as to make sure nothing happened while I was driving down the road. The dealership that has it has confirmed that the issue was due to the pistons. This vehilce was purchased brand new and has had perfect maintenance performed on it since day one. The dealership has inspected the vehicle. The low oil light first came on in February. I took it straight to a place to have them check it and change the oil again just until I could get it to the dealership a few days later. I was advised to have an oil consumption test done. On the 3rd time, which would have been around 3000 miles, it had already consumed more than a quart of oil. They did a borescope and confirmed that the pistons are bad and because of this the inside of the engine is scored. Now I need a new engine on a vehicle that I've taken perfect care of. I believe that this vehicle should be included in the GM recall with the other 6.2 engines as this is also a 6.2 engine in the same year range. I have included the paperwork from the dealership and my carfax showing maintenance.

Batter dies for when it's cool out side and the truck has a brand new battery. The battery has since I've had the truck .replaced the battery last year and it stills die..when it's cool outside..false reading on brakes had them checked twice at the dealer ship .the truck loses power when turning the corner and I makes a loud clunk nose when I drive..
