2023 Audi Q5 driver side floor carpet is lifting near the Brake and Gas pedals. Inspected by Audi Dealer where the car was bought and they agreed the customer did not cause it, nor did they. The dealer checked all other like Q5's, even ones with just a few hundred miles and saw the the carpet in the same lifted condition. They say they cannot fix it. Audi USA said they cannot fix it as it is something the dealer did not report as a defect??? The driver's foot can be caught in the carpet as it continues to lift from the floor of the car, this is a safety defect that Audi needs to fix ASAP! Audi USA Case # 06464915

My car cut off while I was driving [XXX]. My family including my [XXX] was in the car when the car shut off mid drive. No warning nothing. Power was on but the steering wheel locked and the brake pedal was firm. I could not switch gears nothing. It's a Sunday so I had the car towed to my home. 10/7 I have the car towed to Bell Audi in Edison NJ and was told it's my alternator. I work from home, I barely drive 10 miles a week. I use my car to pick my daughter up from school which is close to home. I have researched and found this is a common issue with Audi cars that are not old. At 13k miles I should not have this issue. We could've died on the highway as that is where I was heading towards. I checked my vin and found this is a common issue which is not acceptable as we almost died in the car as it stopped short and scared all of us and locked up. - #11618378October 7, 2024FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING, LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST
3 times this vehicle did not try to stop in time to keep from rear ending a vehicle. The imminent crash warning would come on but the vehicle did not try to stop. This model is supposed to apply the brakes on its own to keep from rear ending someone but it did not apply brakes. If I hadn’t taken hard and immediate braking action we would have rear ended vehicles. The vehicle has an $5800.00 option to brake in emergency situations. There have been at least 3 instances where the vehicle will not engage with lane keeping attempts while being on. This vehicle will also not notify the driver that the vehicle is leaving its lane even though it has lane keeping technology options turned on and purchased.

- #11614657September 15, 2024FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
While starting a left turn from the center left turn lane the car abruptly and forcefully applied the brakes and placed itself in park. There was a single vehicle in the oncoming lane of traffic but it was a more than sufficient distance away to allow the turn to be completed safely. We had not yet left our own lane and there was no risk of collision as a result of the incident. There was no warning from the vehicle prior to the event taking place and after the incident took place a Pre Sense warning was displayed on the dash. We were quite disoriented after the incident and it was several seconds before we realized what had happened. My passenger complained of not feeling well after the incident and still does not feel well several hours after it took place. The vehicle has not been taken for any inspection at this time. We found the option to disable Pre Sense in the Audi MMI settings and have since driven the car with the feature disabled, but it has to be disabled every time the car is restarted.

There is some issue with emission system for Audi Q5 which results in Oil Warning light coming on. It looks like that this is a common issue as there are about 22 vehicles with same defect at one dealership. It looks like Audi dealerships and Audi themselves are aware of this issue and do not have parts to repair this. With the emission issue earlier with VW, not sure if this is a systemic issue. I have been told that the part No. is 7LO 906 243 F This problem came up one month back and this has not been repaired as of now being told that the part is on back order. The issue is still not resolved as part is on back order and I have to drive with the engine warning light.

In addition to our complaint #11608543, filed on 8/14/2024, we are submitting a new and different safety concern today. While driving our new 2024 Audi Q5 with the adaptive cruise control set at the speed zone limit (55 mph), the cruise control adjusted itself down to 20 mph. The adjustment from 55 to 20 is sudden and extremely abrupt with some braking being applied. NO advanced warnings or discernible causes for the speed reductions were observed. If another driver had been following us, we likely would have experienced a rear end collision. We have experienced this malfunction on [XXX], east of Carroll, IA, and 1 to 1-1/2 miles north of [XXX], traveling in both the north direction and south direction. We have visited with the dealer numerous times. The dealership has hooked the vehicle to a diagnostic device and has reported to us that "the vehicle is performing as intended". We have submitted a claim with national Audi customer service representatives and they ruled that "if the dealer says that it is performing as intended", they have to deny our claim. Initially they offered "a gift" in compensation to us. We vigorously refused and stated that our goal was to have the vehicle fixed so it works properly or to have it retired from service before someone gets injured. - #11608543August 14, 2024FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
We were driving on [XXX] at the posted speed limit of 65 mph. The adaptive cruise control was activated and the predictive control turned on. We drove past a [XXX] sign and the car abruptly decreased speed down to the twenties. Had another car been following us, we could have been rear-ended. We soon encountered a speed sign posting a 65 mph limit and the car quickly accelerated to that speed. We felt totally unsafe in this surprise car behavior. This car behavior has happened on numerous occasions, as we travel that area often. We have had numerous discussions with the Audi dealership and they say that they cannot find cause/offer help with our safety issue. We have several videos documenting this safety issue. TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring) erroneously lights up, hence, incorrectly disabling all the safety driving features of the vehicle. We have already checked this with Audi. Audi has confirmed to us that there is a DEFECT and that they are working on a fix which is due as of Sept'2024 (estimated). A PPS has been created. This is dangerous as the system disables all safe driving features like ABS, Traction control etc.. the moment TPMS error activates up incorrectly.

When making a left turn at green light, 4 lane road with oncoming traffic, part way into the turn SUV abruptly slammed on brakes came to immediate dead stop; driver & front seat passenger were restrained by seat belts. Literally SUV was almost rear-ended, plus oncoming traffic "was still oncoming" at 40+ mph and had to steer clear of SUV that came to dead stop partway into intersection. Clearly a defect with the driver assistance automatic breaking system. Easily could have been serious, multi-vehicle, possibly fatal accident.

The contact owns a 2021 Audi Q5. The contact stated while driving approximately 5 MPH and coming to a stop or making a turn, the vehicle shuddered. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle shuddered at slower speeds. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the 4-WD clutch and rear differential needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

The dash board lights all came on, windows rolled down, car could not be controlled and couldn’t put the gear in park. After further research on the internet, I found that there was a recall on 288,000 Q 5s in 2021 because of this issue. Dealer said the “gateway system” that controls all the communication died and they had to replace it. I think the 2021 issue is not completely resolved.

The contact had leased a 2023 Audi Q5. The contact stated while driving 70 MPH, an abnormal sound like a gunshot sound was heard. The contact pulled over at the nearest exit and discovered that the rear panoramic sunroof had shattered without impact. The contact Audi New Orleans (3400 N Causeway Blvd, Metairie, LA 70002); Audi Chattanooga (6001 International Dr, Chattanooga, TN 37421); Audi Asheville (621 Brevard Rd, Asheville, NC 28806) and was informed that the panoramic sunroof could not be replaced. The contact was referred to other independent mechanics. The contact stated that one dealer offered a temporary repair by placing tape over the sunroof; however, the tape flew off the vehicle soon after leaving the dealer. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

Warning lights came on and car completely stopped. Towed to dealer where we were told that Gateway control module part no 80C907468F has failed due to water damage. Dealer informed us that this is not covered by warranty for this reason. We do not believe we spilt any water there as it is located under the back passenger seat. We asked dealer to proceed with repair when we were informed that the part is on back order. We assumed this would be a matter of days or perhaps few weeks. It has been 3 and half month and no ETA yet. I found on Audi World user group that this is a common problem with this model and others have suffered similarly. I believe the OEM is responsible for making parts available within a reasonable time. In dealing with Audi America and the dealer they offered no remedy for this problem. And I am with out a car now going into 4 months. Surely they must be responsible to consumers for providing the services to maintaining the purchased vehicle operating!

I was at a park on March 8,2024 and was parking between two cars. When I was about to press park, vehicle's accelerator self -engaged and the car took off at high speed, This resulted in a collision with a tree about 10 feet from the curb. All front airbags were deployed and the front end got damaged. Reported the incident to the dealer on March 14, 2024. Insurance company informed me that the car is total loss. The car was transferred to the insurance company for inspection and damage assessment. Auditalk was also contacted. Car was sold by insurance company as salvage.

Car was being driven normally within a parking lot of a shopping center. Proceeded to park the vehicle in a parking space. Upon pressing break and holding break pedal pressed, went to push the parking button on gear shifter and car erratically jolted and drove forward and stopped upon impact with barriers/debris/crash. Multiple alerts and warnings illuminated right prior to the incident. Reviews of other drivers of this vehicle reveals similar incidents of unintended acceleration while breaks are actively being applied. No parking button options were stopping vehicle, impact/crash stopped car. Property of shopping plaza/target was damaged, my vehicle, Audi, was damaged and another vehicle parked next to claims their vehicle was involved/hit as well. Safety was critically in danger as breaks did not work and car accelerated on its own without accelerator being pressed rather break was actively engaged and pressing of parking break to shift car from drive to park. Audi pre sense, parking break, TPMS and caution symbol alerts displayed. Problems confirmed and reviewed by Audi dealer service. Paperwork is attached along with pictures. Alerts from car has been present for sometime and car has been taken to audi numerous times with no action by dealer, car is new and is a lease. Audi is aware of these issues had took no action to audit/fix cars systems. Shortly after those visits to dealers this incident occurred. Believe these control modules having a correlation with cars sporadic behavior. Audi Service documents: Story: 5354 TSB 2070571/2 DUPLICATED CUSTOMER CONCERN DURING THE INITIAL TEST DRIVE. - #11581957April 9, 2024FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
The Audi "Pre Sense" automatic braking system engaged without warning and without reason bringing the vehicle to a sudden and complete stop in the middle of an intersection and slamming my body backwards and causing my head to go forward nearly hitting the steering wheel. A school bus was directly behind me and was able to stop in time before it ran into the back of my vehicle, but it could have caused serious injury or death to multiple people. It caused a considerable amount of pain in my neck the day after and soreness in my ribs. The vehicle gave no prior warning. It did display a message simultaneously when it applied the brakes and locked the seatbelts that the "pre sense" had been engaged. It has happened three times prior to this incident. The vehicle dealer has told me that they see record of the system engaging but it does not appear to be faulty by the manufacturers standards despite numerous complaints and frequent occurrences.

Happens weekly, the car breaks randomly when making a left turn, but it slams on the breaks to where you feel like you’ve made impact. It does this in the middle of the intersection and we could be hit head on or rear ended. It continues to happen, it has been in for service at least 3 times over the past year and Audi continues to say there isn’t a problem. Yet people are complaining about this all over social media, and Audi does have a fix for this on their other models, just not the Q5 which is what we are leasing. Please help! We are in danger and are nervous every time we drive this car!
