ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
An electrical keyless part in the vehicle drains the battery causing it to stall wherever or whenever you are on the road. It has been confirmed by the dealer(Courtesy Acura) that the vehicle needs a new part that they are unable to manufacture in a timely manner. It has been almost a year since the incident, and Honda is still not supporting a product that was faulty the day the car rolled off the assembly line. I was told by a representative of Honda that my car, 2015 Acura RDX, is the only vehicle with that VIN number to have this problem, and I know that not to be true.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING
The headlights on my car have dimmed substantially in the last couple of years, to the point I don't feel comfortable driving at night or in unclear conditions. When I do drive at night I am forced to put my hi-beams on to see in front of me. Oncoming cars will flash their lights at me trying to tell me I don't have my headlights on when I do. I have asked Acura about but they say there is nothing that can be done. This is very disappointing and will make me question ever buying another Acura in the future. I can't, in good conscience, pass this car on to my child.

My sunroof exploded for no reason while traveling at highway speeds. Fortunately my sunshade was closed preventing shattered glass from entering the cabin which could have injured me. Shattered glass also damaged the paint on top of my vehicle which will require repainting. The noise made by the glass exploding startled me and could have caused an accident in addition to the glass that flew off of the vehicle endangering vehicles behind me.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING
Headlight low beams have gradually became so dim that the car is unsafe to drive at night or in adverse weather conditions. The bulbs were replaced at an Honda dealership despite the dealership technicians stating there was nothing wrong with the existing bulbs' lumination. The new bulbs did not improve visibility and the headlights are getting worse. The last time the car was driven at night, the lights were so dim that I had to use the light from passing cars on the highway to make it home. This is extremely dangerous for the driver and passengers and other people on the road. It seems the headlight housings will need to be fully replaced to make the car drivable.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING
Headlights a very dim when on. This was not an issue at first but has become noticeable as I’ve driven it more. It is almost impossible to drive at night on a non-city road unless it is empty enough that I can use my brights instead. Very dangerous. If you look online, many people have had this same issue and it’s a known problem with this car. Acura should replace these headlights for these cars

The headlights were getting dimmer and dimmer after a few years and they are so dim now it’s not even safe to drive at night in low beam. I tried to clean the glass many times but the cause in fact is the reflector. I was advised to change the housing which could cost up to $1k for parts and labor

Low beam headlights on my 2015 Acura RDX are extremely dim, despite the bulbs being replaced within the past few years. It is absolutely dangerous to be driving at night with the low beams on; I'm fearful that others may not see me coming or I may not see obstacles ahead, potentially leading to major injury or death to me and others. It is ridiculous that they hasn't been a recall yet for these.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
The contact owns a 2023 Acura RDX. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 35 MPH, the Forward Collision Avoidance: Emergency Automatic Braking inadvertently activated, and the vehicle stopped. The contact was able to regain control of the vehicle, veer to the shoulder, and contacted the dealer to have the feature deactivated. The vehicle was not repaired. Spontaneous Shattering of 2019 Acura Back Windshield On June 3, 2023, while our 2019 RDX was parked with the back hatch open as we were packing to return home from a weekend away, we heard a loud noise. To our shock, we discovered the rear windshield had shattered, scattering thick black glass both inside and outside the vehicle. Fortunately, no one was near the car at the time, including our toddler and infant grandchildren, whom we transport in this vehicle twice a week. A quick search revealed that there have been reported defects and incidents of shattering windshields in 2019-2023 Acura RDX models. We were dismayed to learn that Honda has been aware of this issue since 2020 and has only notified its dealers in 2023. We understand that American Honda is currently facing legal action for not addressing this defect adequately. We were shocked and concerned that we had not been made aware of this issue, given the safety risks involved. We immediately contacted the dealership from which we purchased the car, seeking guidance on how to safely get the vehicle to them for repair. We assumed that Honda would take responsibility for this known defect. However, we were informed by two managers, that Honda is not taking responsibility for this issue. The thick black glass exploded with a loud and startling sound. The broken glass surrounded inside and outside of the car and continued to fall as we researched what to do. The danger was to my husband packing the car, to my toddler and infant grandchildren had this occurred any Tuesday or Thursday we transportation in this car, to us had it happened while driving as the sound was like a gunshot or crash, and other drivers had we reacted.

The infotainment screen went blank 4 times. It works intermittently and reset itself. The dealer performed service bulletin S/B 24-004 on May 21, 2024. Since then it has gone out twice. I taking the vehicle in again. I seen there are issues with that system draining the battery and the car not starting. That had to me this morning.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING
Low beam headlights gradually became dim to the point of not illuminating the road. Replacement halogen bulbs made no difference. The reflective coating inside the low beam projector housing delaminates to the point that no light illuminates the road. You literally have to drive with high beams on as those are in another housing. Acura dealer said only solution was to replace the entire headlight unit. I spent about $500 on replacement headlight housing from eBay and paid a body shop to install them. Acura refuses to recall the 2013-2014-2015 RDX that all have this same issue.

The contact owns a 2020 Acura RDX. The contact stated that while driving on several occasions at various speeds, the brakes were unintendedly activated. Additionally, the contact observed an orange warning light which stated “Brakes” illuminated and then went off. The vehicle was taken to a dealer twice however, the dealer was unable to replicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.

VISIBILITY/WIPER
Low beam halogen headlight are dangerously dim. New bulbs haven’t helped, and no, my headlight housings aren’t chalky nor crazed. I’ve found myself in many scenarios, even one dark roads, where I get very little light.
