Important Warnings for Owners
Owners should be aware that the Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) for this program are currently "VINS are NOT searchable in TIS for applicability." This means you cannot use Toyota's Technical Information System (TIS) to check your vehicle's eligibility directly. Dealers can identify which models were produced with one smart key and determine which phase a vehicle belongs to by referencing the detailed chart. For example, if a customer has a 4Runner produced in December 2022, dealers would confirm the production date against the start and end production dates in the table. If the vehicle was produced with one smart key, they would then check the color-coded box corresponding to the model and production month in the chart to match it with the phase summary table. For a 4Runner produced in December, a dark green box indicates it is part of Phase 1.
