Important Warranty Claim Instructions

Dealers are advised of updated procedures for selecting the Technician Identification during claim submission. It is now explicitly stated that dealers can "NO LONGER select 'NONE'" from the dropdown menu for technician identification. This ensures proper accountability for warranty work.

For in-house Body Shop repairs, which include those addressing Filiform Corrosion, a valid Body Shop Technician MUST be selected from the Technician Identification dropdown. If repairs are completed outside of the dealership's location or at an Independent Repair Facility (IRF), "SUBLET” MUST be chosen. All other repairs require a valid Technician from the dealership to be selected for accurate claim processing. These changes are vital for correct warranty claim administration.

Recall Collateral Damage Claim Process

Owners and technicians should be aware of specific guidelines for submitting collateral damage requests related to recalls. New buttons for "Recall Collateral Damage" have been added to the DealerCONNECT Service tab and the Warranty Information Center (WIC). It is crucial to note that these buttons are "ONLY to be used for Recall Collateral Damage."

For collateral damage requests pertaining to a standard Warranty or Warranty Extension repair, the "LOP Related Inquiry" button should be used instead. To prevent confusion, the button names are being updated from a generic "Collateral Damage" to the more specific "Recall Collateral Damage." This helps ensure claims are routed correctly and processed efficiently.

Door Hem Corrosion Repair Update

There has been a significant change in the recommended procedure for addressing Filiform corrosion and refinishing the Hem Flange area on the front and rear inner doors of 2021-2026 Jeep Wrangler (JL) and 2021-2026 Jeep Gladiator (JT) vehicles. Previously, these doors might have been replaced. However, the updated guidance states that "These doors should no longer be replaced. They can be repaired." This change aims to streamline repair processes and reduce costs. For detailed repair instructions, technicians should refer to Collision TSB 31-001-26.

Gasket Claim Adjustments for OE Engines

Existing warranty claim procedures for OE engines used in repairs, when a remanufactured engine is available, often result in claims being returned to dealers for price difference adjustments in the Totals tab. This is due to discrepancies in part pricing. Starting March 2, 2026, this adjustment process will extend to "gasket kits and or other parts included with reman engine." This change is being implemented because "gaskets ARE included with reman engines," ensuring that claims accurately reflect the components provided with remanufactured units and preventing overbilling for parts already supplied.
