Diagnosis

For technicians, the diagnostic process for the "Jeep turn signal lever does not cancel" issue begins by checking if the customer's vehicle VIN is listed in the VIP system or the Rapid Service Update (RSU) VIN list. If the VIN is on the list, the repair procedure should be followed. If the vehicle is not on the list but exhibits the symptom, the repair procedure can still be performed.

To confirm the issue, the technician will activate both the left and right turn signals and turn the steering wheel to its respective stop, then back to the center. They will observe if the turn signal lever automatically returns or cancels. If the turn signal lever does not return or cancel, the TSB's repair steps are necessary.

4. Steering Wheel Left Turn: Turn the steering wheel fully to the left stop, then return it to the center position. Observe if the turn signal lever automatically returns.
5. Right Turn Signal Test: Activate the right turn signal.
6. Steering Wheel Right Turn: Turn the steering wheel fully to the right stop, then return it to the center position. Observe if the turn signal lever automatically returns.

8. Lever Replacement: If the turn signal lever did not return, it should be replaced.
