2025-2026 Jeep AC Not Cooling TSB 24-003-25

This bulletin, which supersedes the earlier TSB 24-003-25 issued on August 23, 2025, also corresponds to Rapid Service Update (RSU) 25-173. It applies to vehicles manufactured on or after August 19, 2024 (MDH 0819XX) and on or before June 18, 2025 (MDH 0618XX) for North and South American markets.

Symptoms

Owners of affected 2025-2026 Jeep Compass and Renegade vehicles may notice that their air conditioning system is not performing as expected. The primary symptom is that the "Air conditioning provides insufficient cabin cooling." This means the vehicle's interior does not cool down adequately, even when the AC is set to its lowest temperature and highest fan speed. Cause

The root cause of the insufficient cabin cooling is identified as an air conditioning refrigerant leak. This leak typically occurs at the evaporator piping to intermediate connection within the vehicle's heating and air conditioning system.

Diagnosis

To diagnose this issue, technicians will first check if the vehicle's VIN is listed in VIP or the RSU VIN list for RSU 25-173. If the vehicle is on the list, the repair procedure should be performed. Even if a vehicle is not explicitly on the VIN list but exhibits the symptom of "Air conditioning provides insufficient cabin cooling," the repair procedure outlined in TSB 24-003-25 should still be followed.

Repair Procedure Summary

The repair process involves an inspection of the evaporator piping and, if necessary, its replacement. Technicians are required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including heat protection gloves, safety glasses, safety footwear, and appropriate clothing. The procedure begins by starting the vehicle and activating the air conditioning system at minimum temperature and maximum fan speed, allowing the engine to run for at least 20 minutes with the hood open. After this, the ignition is turned off, and the evaporator piping to intermediate connection is inspected for evidence of ice or excessive condensation. If ice or excessive condensation is found, indicating a leak, the evaporator pipe is replaced. If no such evidence is present, the RSU is closed using Labor Operation Number 24-45-21-90.
