Next, approximately 5 ml of Permatex Windshield and Glass Sealant is loaded into a syringe. The syringe plunger is reinstalled, and sealant is pushed through until it begins to flow. The syringe is then inserted underneath the windshield glass, following the body panel seam to a specified depth. A barrier tube is inserted parallel to the syringe.

Sealant is injected in 1 ml increments, with a 5-second wait between each injection, until the entire amount has been applied. After injection, the syringe is removed, but the barrier tube remains in place for 10 minutes. The sealant will set in 1 hour and fully cure within 24 hours. Technicians must take repair validation photos, including the last 6 digits of the VIN and the repair date, and upload them.
