At first oil change in 2025, reported to dealer loud rear noise (boom) followed by poor bouncy driving afterward that continued. Told they couldn’t get the boom sound to reoccur on test drive. (It had only occurred once for me followed by car’s ride feeling looser and more bouncy after that. No repairs made. On third oil change (approx 25,000 miles) I was informed shocks had totally failed and needed replacing and that this premature failure of the shock absorbers was “common” on Tuscons and other Hyundai models. Other models recalled, but not 2024 Tuscon’s yet. Warranty covered it. But was warned some of these models needed shocks replaced every 20,000 miles of even sooner. After repair, the car’s suspension was more stable, less bounce and sway while driving. A few thousand miles later, heard another “boom” while driving after which the suspension felt bouncy and swayed more. Brought back and again told they couldn’t not the boom sound to reoccur during test drive. Told shocks were ok. At 30,000+ miles, guests riding with me agree car’s ride seems bad, doesn’t hold the road well on turns and every little bump is felt and the car takes several moments to rebound after a bump and stop bouncing. I fear there is a safety issue with the shocks or other parts of my car’s suspension system. On-line reviews/reports and chat rooms confirm other owners of this model of car are experiencing similar issues. Please investigate whether a recall is needed.

I am filing a safety complaint regarding my 2024 Hyundai Tucson N Line Hybrid (VIN: [XXX]), purchased as a Hyundai Certified Pre-Owned vehicle from Balise Hyundai in XXX. Since purchasing the vehicle, I have experienced a persistent grinding noise that continued despite multiple dealership visits. Initially, I was told a pebble lodged in the rotor was causing the noise. Further evaluation by the dealership’s General Manager and Service Manager led to additional investigation and proposed repairs. On XXX, I was informed that a factory-welded nut was not attached to anything on the vehicle’s floor support structure. The dealership advised that the vehicle was unsafe to drive and had to be moved to the collision department for further assessment. On XXX, the Service Manager informed me that the proposed repair would require removal and replacement of the entire floor pan. This raises serious concerns about a potential manufacturing or assembly defect in a structural component of the vehicle. My primary safety concerns include: An apparent factory-related defect involving an unattached welded nut on the floor support structure. The dealership’s determination that the vehicle was unsafe to drive. Potential risks to structural integrity, crashworthiness, and occupant protection. The need for extensive structural repairs on a relatively new vehicle. Whether similar defects may exist in other vehicles of the same make and model. The persistent grinding noise and multiple service visits preceded the discovery of this structural issue. I am concerned that this defect may have safety implications beyond my individual vehicle. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate this condition, determine its potential safety implications, and assess whether similar manufacturing or assembly defects may affect other vehicles. Dealership service records and documentation of the diagnosis are available. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

- #11771428October 15, 2026VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
I am submitting this complaint to report a potential safety concern involving the Forward Safety (Collision-Avoidance) System and Smart Cruise Control System in my Hyundai vehicle. I am concerned that these warnings may indicate a problem with safety-related driver-assistance systems, and I want to bring this issue to NHTSA's attention so it can be evaluated for potential risks to other vehicle owners. Vehicle and diagnostic information as - Make: Hyundai - Model: Hyundai Tucson SEL FWD - Model year: 2024 - Purchase date: March 2024 - Odometer reading: 24,359 miles - Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC): C174181 - System identified in Bluelink: Chassis - Date the code originated: October 13, 2026 Description of the problem My vehicle's dashboard displayed the following warning messages: - Check Forward Safety System (Collision-Avoidance System) - Check Smart Cruise Control System On my Hyundai Bluelink account also displayed an “Attention Needed” notification identifying one chassis diagnostic trouble code, C174181, originating on October 13, 2026. These warnings concern systems intended to assist with collision avoidance and vehicle following distance. I am concerned that their malfunction or unavailability could reduce the vehicle's driver-assistance capabilities and potentially create a safety risk while driving. I am reporting the symptoms and diagnostic code for NHTSA's evaluation; I do not yet know the underlying technical cause. My primary concern in filing this report is vehicle safety. I request that NHTSA record and evaluate this complaint and determine whether similar reports involving Hyundai vehicles indicate a potential safety-related defect that warrants further investigation. I am submitting this information to help identify any possible recurring problem that could affect other drivers, passengers, and road users. I can provide screenshots from Bluelink, warning-message photographs, repair orders and additional diagnostic information if needed. Thanks

NHTSA VEHICLE SAFETY COMPLAINT Vehicle Information: * Year: 2024 * Make: Hyundai * Model: Tucson * VIN: [XXX] * Mileage: Approximately 65,000 * Dealership: Hyundai of [XXX] Complaint Description: I am filing this formal safety complaint regarding my 2024 Hyundai Tucson, which is experiencing recurring water intrusion and electrical malfunctions. Every time it rains, water enters the interior of my vehicle, causing flooding. This is not an isolated incident. The flooding occurs repeatedly during rainfall, and I am extremely concerned that there may be an underlying manufacturing, assembly, sealing, or drainage defect. In addition to the flooding, my vehicle’s electronic systems have begun malfunctioning. My radio operates on its own without my input, my touchscreen becomes unresponsive, and the buttons do not function when needed. I am concerned that water may be reaching electrical components and contributing to these malfunctions, although the exact cause has not been determined. I have not been involved in an accident or caused any known damage to the vehicle that would explain the recurring water intrusion. I reported my concerns to Hyundai of Orange Park in [XXX]. However, I was informed that because my vehicle is outside its warranty coverage, I would be responsible for the diagnostic and repair expenses. When I escalated my concerns to a Hyundai supervisor, I was presented with two options: pay thousands of dollars to have the vehicle disassembled to investigate the problem or purchase another vehicle. My concerns about the possible safety implications of the flooding and electrical malfunctions remain unresolved. I am particularly worried about moisture-related electrical failures, corrosion, and the possibility that additional vehicle systems could malfunction. I am concerned about the safety of myself, my passengers, and others on the road. This vehicle is a 2024 model with approximately 6 INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I was notified about a recall for the tow hitch wiring harness. I took it to the dealer to have it repaired. Instead of repairing it, they just removed the wiring harness from the vehicle. When I asked them when the actual repair would be completed they said they had no idea. The service manager at the Hyundai dealership told me that some of his customers were mad about not having a safe and working tow hitch package that they had paid for, after they removed the wiring harness, that they were taking their cars to U-Haul dealers to have tow hitch wiring harnesses installed. He also told me to call the Hyundai customer service hotline which I did. The hotline told me that they could not even tell me if they were even working on a permanent repair for my car. The recall for my car now states "COMPLETED", which is totally wrong. They simply removed the wiring harness, without doing any actual repairs, leaving the tow system completely inoperable and VERY unsafe to use. I am now left with a car that is now unsafe when towing a trailer due to it no longer having a wiring harness installed for it, so I now have no trailer lights.

Vehicle Information: 2024 Hyundai TucsonComponent: Service Brakes, Hydraulic: Foundation Components: Disc: RotorComplaint Text:I am writing to report a severe, premature manufacturing defect regarding the braking system on my 2024 Hyundai Tucson. At approximately [Insert Your Mileage, e.g., 12,000] miles, the vehicle began experiencing violent shaking and vibration in the steering wheel and brake pedal when applying the brakes.Upon inspection, it was determined that all four factory brake rotors had warped. Shaking of this magnitude during braking compromises vehicle control and poses a distinct safety hazard, especially during high-speed or emergency braking maneuvers.Hyundai is fully aware of this defect. They previously issued Technical Service Bulletin TSB 23-BR-004H detailing an identical "brake judder" engineering flaw for 2022–2023 models. Despite the 2024 model utilizing the exact same braking architecture, Hyundai has not extended the TSB coverage to the 2024 model year. As a result, the dealership classified this premature failure as normal "wear and tear" and forced me to pay out of pocket for resurfacing all four rotors.A vehicle should not suffer total, four-wheel rotor warping at this low mileage. This is a systemic material defect that Hyundai is actively forcing consumers to pay for. I am requesting a formal safety investigation.

- #11764536September 15, 2026FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
On Monday, 09/14/2026 at approximately 10:15am Mountain Time Utah State Route 36, North-bound. -- I was driving straight, approximately 60mph on dry road on a sunny day. There was no other traffic on the road either ahead, alongside, or behind me and no oncomming traffic. The Automatic Emergency Braking engaged, the emergency braking indicator flashed on the dashboard and the car slowed way down and then it just stopped engaging and the car rolled freely. I believe that the forward collision warning also sounded. NOTE-- this is not the first time this has happened to me. It has happened at least 3 to 4 times over the past two years since we leased the vehicle. I have asked the dealership service department to look at it, but they state that they can find no indication of any problem and that they have been unable to reproduce the event.

The contact owns a 2024 Hyundai Tucson. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V893000 (Trailer Hitches); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the remedy to be available. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the trailer wiring harness was removed, and a dust cap was installed over the wiring receptacle. The dealer had not replaced the tow hitch electrical harness. The contact stated that because the tow hitch electrical harness was not replaced, the vehicle was no longer able to be used for towing. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue, and a case had been opened. The manufacturer confirmed that the tow hitch electrical harness would be replaced but could not provide a time frame for when the part would be available. The failure mileage was approximately 68,000.

On 6 occasions over the last 2 months when coming to a stop the engine will increase rpm to 1600 forcing much extra brake pressure to stop, forcing me to shutoff the engine. No codes or indicators and the dealer can't duplicate. I mentioned to the dealer that the car will accelerate while holding down the brake thinking that as a clue as to what's wrong and the service tech told me that is normal but as far as I know it isn't normal. I don't know what to do.

Rear, middle seat belt will not latch. Upon the first need, June 2026, of having to have five people in the 2024 Tucson we discovered that the rear, middle seat belt would not latch. This created an unsafe situation of driving in downtown Houston with an occupant being unable to be safely restrained in the rear, middle seat. Dealer has confirmed a defective rear, middle seat belt, but will not repair under warranty. Dealer claims the seat belt was damaged by the folding down rear seat.

I was driving at a low speed (10-15mph) with a safe distance between me and the vehicle in front of me when the semi truck in front came to an abrupt stop. I reacted appropriately by pressing on the brake, however, my car accelerated into the vehicle instead. None of the emergency brake systems activated including the automatic emergency braking and front collision warning, which lead to my car driving into the semi-truck.

2024 Hyundai Tucson SEL Convenience Hybrid Recall:Hyundai Campaign 290/NHSTA 23V-187 (subsequent Tucson tow harness fire recalls) My vehicle was brought into an authorized Hyundai dealership to address the safety hazard associated with the accessory tow hitch wiring harness recall. The dealership resolved the immediate fire hazard by completely disconnecting and removing the functional trailer wiring harness from my vehicle. My physical repair invoice explicitly states: "repair complete-disconnected the positive connector and removed OEM harness from the vehicle, installing a dust cap." No replacement harness was installed. Because this physical removal occurred, Hyundai's internal corporate warranty system has offically marked the safety recall as "Closed" and completed for my VIN. However, the manufacturer has failed to provide a safe, functional remedy to restore the vehicle's advertised and purchased towing utility. When checking with Hyundai Customer Care, I am told the redesigned waterproof harness (Part #CWF61-AU100) cannot be ordered or allocated to my vehicle because the computer systems views the safety risk as resolved and the recall closed. I called Findlay Hyundai in St. George to see if they had the part number CWF61-AU100, he said he did not but Ontario had some & could get the part in a few days. The manufacturer's remedy is inadequate. By permanently removing a functional utility to satisfy a safety metric, without providing a safe, operating replacement part. Hyundai has effectively disabled the towing capabilities of my vehicle without offering a true remedy. I am requesting that NHSTA compel Hyundai to reopen or provide a distinct parts-allocation path for vehicles that had their wiring harness removed rather than replaced. A previous case opened 11751274

I have a 2024 Hyundai Tuscon SLE that I purchased new and several months ago there was a recall on the trailer hitch wiring. I took the car to Hyundai and they removed the wiring harness hitch due to a fire danager. Todate I have not received a replacement hiring harness, so my vehicle is now useless for pulling a trailer for several months. (The spring and summer months are when I use this the most and have not been able to.) All I hear from Hyundai is that they do not have a cure for this. I notice that the 2025 and 2026 models have a wiring harness on them that do not need replacing. I need something done ASAP regarding this matter. Why has NOTHING been done regarding this replacement? It has been MUCH TOO LONG! Is there ANYONE at your organization that can help me with this matter ASAP!!!! Thank you.

The air conditioning system in my 2024 Hyundai Tucson has never adequately cooled the cabin during high outdoor temperatures, since I purchased the vehicle. The vehicle is parked outdoors in direct sunlight daily, as I have no garage or carport access, and the issue is most severe and consistent during hot weather. This creates a heat exposure risk while driving, particularly on hot days when cabin temperatures remain uncomfortably high despite the AC running and set to the coldest setting. Prolonged exposure to excessive cabin heat can pose a safety risk, including impaired driver alertness and general heat-related discomfort/health risk. I brought the vehicle to CMA's Hyundai of Lynchburg on July 9, 2025 to report this issue; the dealership found no fault and stated the AC was working correctly. I brought the vehicle in again on August 11, 2026 with the same complaint; the dealership again reported the AC was blowing air at the correct temperature, with no fault identified. The vehicle has been inspected and is available for further inspection upon request. There were no dashboard warning lights or messages associated with this issue. The problem has been consistent since I've owned the vehicle, and is worse specifically in hot weather.

The contact owns a 2024 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V893000 (Trailer Hitches); and the contact became aware that there was no wiring harness on the vehicle after recall repair. The dealer informed the contact that removing the wiring harness and installing a dust cap was included in the recall remedy as provided by the manufacturer.
