To thoroughly understand the underlying cause of this condition, AHM is requesting that dealerships identify and report qualifying vehicles. The goal is to inspect these vehicles before any repairs are attempted, which is crucial for data collection.

Symptoms

Owners of affected 2024-2026 Honda Civic, CR-V, or HR-V vehicles may notice the following primary symptom:

• The A/C system is "A/C not blowing cold air", indicating a malfunction.

Technicians diagnosing the issue will likely confirm that the A/C compressor is seized.

Qualifying Conditions for Inspection

Honda is specifically interested in inspecting vehicles that meet a strict set of criteria. Your vehicle must satisfy all of the following requirements to be considered for this special program regarding the Honda A/C compressor seizure:

• Model and Trim Levels:
  • For Civic models, LX, EX, Sport, Sport Touring, Touring, and SI trim levels are accepted.
  • For CR-V models, LX, EX, and EX-L trim levels are accepted.
  • For HR-V models, all trim levels are accepted.
• Hybrid Models Excluded: Hybrid Civic and Hybrid CR-V models are explicitly not accepted.
• Confirmed A/C Compressor Seizure: A technician must confirm that the A/C system is inoperative due to a seized compressor.
• No HVAC Leaks: A technician must verify that there are no leaks in the HVAC system using a leak detector (sniffer).
• No Prior HVAC Repairs: The vehicle must not have had any previous HVAC repairs, including A/C refrigerant evacuation, recharge, or replacement of HVAC components.
• No Repair Attempts During Visit: No repair attempts should be made on the vehicle during the current dealership visit.
• No History of Collisions: The vehicle must not have any history of collisions.
