Repair Procedure Summary

1. Preparation: Disconnect the negative battery terminal and disable the 48V system. This involves following Repair Instruction 61 20 900, which details the process for disconnecting and connecting the battery ground lead.
2. Access: Remove the rear underbody protection to gain access to the affected components. This step refers to Repair Instruction 51 47 491, which covers removing, refitting, or replacing the rear engine undercover.
3. Component Removal: Loosen specific screws and remove the heat shield to expose the power electronics (MHEV) area.
4. Screw Plug Removal: Remove the screw plug for the power electronics (MHEV).
5. Retighten Connection: Retighten the threaded connection of the MHEV supply line to a torque of 19 Nm.
6. Screw Plug Replacement: Replace the screw plug for the power electronics (MHEV), torquing it to 35 Nm.
7. Reassembly: Install the heat shield and retaining plate on the tunnel, tightening them to 2.5 Nm. Reinstall the rear underbody protection as per Repair Instruction 51 47 491.
8. Final Steps: Reconnect the negative battery cable, including the 48V vehicle electrical system, following Repair Instruction 61 20 900.
