Once the HV system is disabled (indicated by the “Blitz” lightning bolt icon in the instrument cluster), a technician without HV Certification may remove certain HV components, but not the High Voltage Battery.
- High Voltage Battery removal and rework can only be performed by a HV Specialist Technician (certified by Technical Training Course ST1825 – Alternative Drive Part 2) with a HV Battery Certification level specific to the electric or hybrid vehicle. Performing this SIB requires GEN5 battery Certification from Technical Training Course "ST2205 Generation 5 High-voltage" class.

The manufacturer's remedy for this issue involves replacing the faulty BMW iX Combined Charging Unit. This repair is to be performed by authorized BMW service centers. The procedure is detailed in repair instructions REP 61 42 501.
