BMW has issued a critical advisory regarding vehicles affected by this Delivery Stop. Owners and dealers should be aware of the following:

"Do not deliver to a customer, a New, Certified Pre-Owned or Used vehicle subject to a Delivery Stop, until the vehicle is repaired. Do not use or sell replacement equipment/parts subject to a Delivery Stop."

This means that any new, certified pre-owned, or used 2024 BMW 330i (G20) vehicle impacted by SIB 61 26 24 cannot be sold or delivered to a customer until the necessary repair is completed.

First, technicians must remove the center underbody protection and the rear engine undercover assemblies. Specific repair instructions for these steps are referenced as REP-REP-P-5147491-G20 - V.8 for the rear engine undercover and REP-REP-P-5147492-G20 - V.8 for the center underbody protection.

Next, both the 12V and 48V ground terminals must be torqued to the correct specification. The 12V transmission grounding strap/grounding cable body ground (typically identified by a purple circle in technical diagrams) needs to be torqued to 19 Nm. Similarly, the 48V Transmission EME 48 body ground, specifically location Z50*10B (identified by a yellow circle), also requires a torque of 19 Nm. These connections must be secured without any gaps.

Finally, the center underbody protection and the rear engine undercover assemblies are re-installed following the reverse of the removal instructions.

  • Work Package #1 (Labor Operation 00 77 710): Used for vehicles where the repair is completed before the first customer delivery. This has a labor allowance of 5 FRU.
  • Work Package #2 (Labor Operation 00 77 148): Used if the vehicle is already in the workshop and the Delivery Stop action is open. This has a labor allowance of 6 FRU.

Only one main work flat rate labor operation code can be claimed per workshop visit.
