Audi has issued Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 00 23 68 2066297/2, which details the Audi e-tron Vin-4-Pin program. This program is designed to gather comprehensive technical data from dealership technicians regarding various product issues encountered in 2022-2024 Audi vehicles. The goal is to facilitate a more efficient fault-solving process and drive continuous product improvements.

This TSB, dated May 8, 2023, supersedes an earlier bulletin, Group 00 number 22-56, issued on June 7, 2022. The revision includes updates to the header, the addition of Model Year 2024 vehicles, and a change in the bonus reward for eligible cases to $50.

Purpose of the Vin-4-Pin Program

During a vehicle's lifecycle, product issues are reported to the manufacturer, leading to necessary product improvements. To ensure the long-term quality of Audi vehicles, the Vin-4-Pin program serves as a critical tool for collecting vital technical information from dealerships. This data is essential for resolving specific topics and improving the fault-solving process.

The program aims to assist in accurately defining and locating the root cause of issues. By providing detailed information, technicians help reduce handling time for implementing repairs and production solutions. The Audi e-tron Vin-4-Pin program is a proactive measure to enhance vehicle reliability and customer satisfaction.

How the Vin-4-Pin Program Works for Technicians

For each eligible case reported through the Vin-4-Pin program, a $50 bonus is awarded on top of any other necessary diagnostic work. Technicians must follow specific requirements and steps to ensure their submissions qualify for the bonus:

Requirements for Reporting a Case:

  • The technician must use their own login credentials when submitting a Technical Assistance Center (TAC) case. If another technician's credentials are used, that individual will receive the bonus.
  • All fields in the topic worksheet must be filled out with as much detail as possible.
  • All requested documentation, such as videos, sound recordings, photos, MVBs (Measured Value Blocks), etc., must be attached to the initial TAC contact.
  • A clear complaint, cause, and correction must be documented in the TAC case.
  • A good contact phone number for the technician must be included in the TAC case.
  • The case must be closed promptly after TAC review.

Steps to Report a Vin-4-Pin Case:

  1. Ensure the customer concern is listed on ServiceNet under 'Technician references >> Vin-4-Pin Topics'.
  2. Fill out the associated worksheet located at ServiceNet under 'Technician references >> Vin-4-Pin >> worksheets'.
  3. Create a TAC Web ticket. The first sentence of the ticket should state: "Submitting Vin-4-Pin topic (then state the topic)". Include customer concern, diagnosis, worksheets, and any requested media for the topic. Individual file sizes for attachments must be less than 10MB.
  4. After a TAC consultant reviews and confirms all necessary information is present, close the TAC case.

Payment Details for Technicians

Eligible TAC cases are submitted for payment at the end of each month, with bonus payments sent out monthly. The technician will receive a debit card for initial payments, which should be kept for future payments as it will be reloaded monthly for any new reported cases. The initial debit card takes approximately two weeks to arrive at the dealership and must be activated following the included instructions. For questions regarding the debit card, payments, or lost cards, technicians can contact [email protected] or call 1-888-777-9336 option 1.

Important Considerations

It is important to note that the topic list and associated worksheets for the Audi e-tron Vin-4-Pin program can change frequently. Technicians are advised not to print these documents for later use, as the information may become outdated. This TSB is informational only and does not apply to any Audi warranty.
