This software defect prevents the component protection in the short-range radars from deactivating properly, leading to functional issues with the driver assist systems.

Important Warnings for Owners

Audi advises that a permanent solution is under development. Owners should be aware of the following:

• "Do not replace any components for this condition since this will not resolve the customer's concern."
• "A solution is expected to be available by the end of the 4th quarter of 2025 (subject to change) and that no repairs are necessary at this point."

This means that replacing parts like radar sensors or control units will not fix the underlying software problem and could result in unnecessary costs.

Immediate Workshop Measures

While a permanent fix is pending, Audi has provided a temporary measure for workshops to address the 2025 Audi A5 driver assist messages and clear the DTC U110100. This involves performing a terminal 30 reset of the Electronic Central Electrical (BCM) control unit J519. There are two options for this procedure:

1. Fuse Removal: Technicians can use the current flow diagram to identify and remove all fuses for the Electronic Central Electrical (BCM) control unit J519. These fuses must remain removed for at least 10 minutes.
2. Battery Disconnection: Alternatively, the vehicle battery can be disconnected for a minimum of 10 minutes.

After either of these steps, and following a bus sleep cycle, the event memory can be cleared. This temporary measure will resolve the complaint until a permanent software update is released.

Production Solution

Audi plans to implement a production change to address this software issue in new vehicles. This change is expected to be introduced in the fourth quarter of 2025.

For vehicles still under warranty, this Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) provides guidance for repairs. However, if the vehicle is outside of any warranty, the TSB is for informational purposes only.
