Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Volkswagen) is recalling 2024-2026 Atlas Cross Sport and Atlas vehicles. The vehicles may experience a low-voltage electrical event that affects display screen functions. As a result, the rearview camera image may fail to display as intended.
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Atlas, Atlas Cross Sport and 2023-2024 ID.4 vehicles. Certain bolts on the chassis, brake system and/or suspension (such as bolts for certain cross member, engine mount, control arm, subframe, rear brake carrier, etc.) of affected vehicles may not have been correctly tightened during the manufacturing process.
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Atlas Cross Sport and Atlas vehicles. A software error may cause the rearview camera image to become distorted when the vehicle is in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport vehicles. The engine cover may have been improperly installed after vehicle service, allowing it to come loose and contact hot engine surfaces.
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain 2024 Atlas and 2024 Atlas Cross Sport vehicles. The brake master cylinder may have been assembled with an incorrect secondary piston spring retainer, which can block the brake fluid port.
My foot was completely on the brake pedal during a low-speed parking maneuver, and the vehicle, un-commanded, surged forward, causing the crash. The vehicle actively fought my braking. Also the crash assist did not engage nor stop the vehicle either , I was directly in front of the car I collided with.

I purchased my 2024 Volkswagen Atlas new on January 25, 2025. Since purchase, the infotainment/touchscreen system has repeatedly failed, sometimes while driving. The screen becomes completely black and nonfunctional, causing loss of the rearview backup camera, windshield defroster controls, and temperature adjustment functions as well as Car play issues and anything that the infotainment center handles such as the radio, auto start stop system or any warnings that may need to be seen before driving the vehicle. The system has also repeatedly shut off and restarted while driving. At times I have pulled over and restarted the vehicle to attempt to restore operation, but this does not consistently work. The screen is currently completely inoperative, and I cannot activate the windshield defroster, backup camera or change the temperature. The vehicle has been taken to Volkswagen of Inver Grove Heights multiple times for related problems, including visits during 2025 and 2026. The failures continue despite attempted repairs. I am concerned about the risk of impaired visibility when windshield defrosting is unavailable and the loss of the rearview camera when reversing. I have video documentation of the recurring malfunctions.

My wife was operating the vehicle when the check engine light suddenly came on and alerts on the dash stating that the car was overheating. She was unable to pull over as she was in the road, the car then flashed more alerts and limited her speed to under 20 mph only operating in first gear and limiting rpm to 4000. She was thankfully able to pull over as she was on a city road not a highway whilst driving with my [XXX] in the vehicle. The car was towed to a VW dealership where they stated it was a known software issue with the cooling system not operating properly. They referenced TSB XXX which was first posted in 2024. This information was not provided to the customers and only VW technicians through the TSB. If this were to happen at a high rate of speed there could have been a serious issue and my wife and daughter could not be with me today. COMPONENT: Engine In XXX at 35,750 miles, the check engine light illuminated. Fault codes P0301 (Cylinder 1 misfire) and P130A (ECM "hide cylinder" — fuel injector shut off due to severe misfire) were stored. The dealer ([XXX] Volkswagen, [XXX]) diagnosed the concern per VW TSB #XXX, added a fuel additive, cleared the codes, and returned the vehicle as repaired under warranty. Approximately 2,093 miles later, at 37,843 miles, the check engine light returned with the same P0301 cylinder 1 misfire. The dealer then attributed the misfire to carbon buildup on the intake valves — a known characteristic of the direct-injection 2.0L TSI engine — and refused warranty coverage, quoting $695.40 for intake-valve cleaning as a "maintenance" item, although carbon cleaning does not appear in Volkswagen's official maintenance schedule for this vehicle. Safety concern: A misfiring cylinder causes rough running and loss of engine power. The P130A code indicates the misfire was severe enough for the engine computer to shut off fuel delivery to the cylinder to protect the catalytic converter. An engine that misfires unpredictably can hesitate or lose power while driving, creating a hazard when merging, passing, or traveling at highway speed. COMPONENT: Electrical System / Visibility 1) The Apple CarPlay/infotainment display intermittently goes black (blanks out) while driving. When the screen is black, the rearview backup camera image — required safety equipment — is unavailable, along with navigation and other vehicle functions displayed on the screen. 2) The passenger-side rear dome light turns on and off by itself while driving, including at night. An interior light illuminating unexpectedly during nighttime driving distracts the driver and degrades forward night visibility. Both electrical concerns were reported to the dealer in XXX at 37,843 miles and documented on the repair order (RO# 230128).
