On several occasions I have a dead pedal situation on acceleration from a brief stop. When you press the accelerator, the truck does not accelerate immediately. Instead there is a second or two pause before truck responds to accelerator input. When crossing traffic, this hesitation has caused several situations in which i have almost been t-boned.

My 2024 tundra with 33000 miles is part of the latest recall, I called the dealership and was told I got to wait ( wait for what a XXX accident to happen) until Toyota sends me a letter and then dealerships get the parts! My truck is ticking, and not even running rite and no parts to fix it? Does anybody know how dangerous this is? XXX I drive myself and family in a $70000 truck that can literally blow up and cause a severe deadly situation especially living in southern Maine, and instead of fixing it rite away I gotta wait months from the sound of it.. no letter, no parts, no loaner, just prayers that God is with us until this XXX is fixed.. sad thing people with a brain know how dangerous it but nobody offers XXX. Ever since I got this truck, I’ve experienced intermittent hesitation/lag when accelerating from a stop. I’ve reported it to the dealer several times and am always told they cannot reproduce. The problem was NOT improved after the engine replacement. This is dangerous - when pulling into traffic I cannot always count on my truck actually MOVING when I press the accelerator.

The vehicle hesitates when starting from a stop. It feels like the engine dies. This was a previous “recall”. Vehicle was “fixed” but still happening. I’ve informed Toyota of issue. No resolution. I’ve almost been hit twice at an intersection because of this.

The throttle lag is a major safety concern. When pulling way from a stop there is a huge delay in throttle response. This is consistent and has caused me to have several close incidents and nearly an accident. This is a programming issue that Toyota needs to address.

When accelerating from a stop, on occasion there is a multi second delay before the vehicle accelerates. I have had a few close calls with oncoming traffic when entering a new road from a stop due to these delays. It is quite worrisome. This has happened since new and after a software flash on the transmission.

I was at a tea intersection and I needed to pull into traffic. This is the second time it’s happened by the way. And the traffic was pretty heavy, but if I really put on the grass, I’d be able to get into my lane no problem and as I was going to get into the lane and merge in the traffic, the gas shut off the brake warning went on because cars were coming at me to my left. I believe it’s the Toyota safety sense that stopped the gas into my car. The throttle was nonresponsive for a second or so, and it almost caused an accident the dealership has been made aware and the shop foreman says it’s a problem with Toyota safety sense and they told me they documented it when I brought my car in.

The truck has a hesitation to start from stop/slow state. This is concerning because when I start to accelerate, sometimes it doesn’t want to go for a 1-2 second time period making it unsafe to pull into traffic. It is sporadic and seems to happen more when I start and stop in quick succession.

I own a 2024 Toyota Tundra 1794 Edition equipped with Falken Wildpeak A/T 265/60R20 112H tires (original equipment). The vehicle currently has 17,000 miles, and the tires have been rotated at regular intervals according to Toyota’s maintenance schedule. Despite proper care, the right front tire has shown excessive wear on the outer edge. This issue first appeared at 5,000 miles and was noted by my Toyota dealer, who performed an alignment and rotation at that time. The same wear pattern has now reappeared and worsened.

intermitantly, there is a severe power lag when accelerating from stop. When stopped (stop sign or light), and I hit the accelerator, there is no immediate power, then the vehicle will "rocket" from the stop position. This is creating a very dangerous situation, as the lag sometimes puts me in position of pulling out in front of oncoming traffic, or spins the tires and I lose control. This situation happens about 30% of the time from stop. I have not taken it in for service yet, but from researching, this is a known problem throughout the Tundra community. There are no warnings prior to this happening.

Vehicle experiences electronic throttle lag that causes the vehicle to not accelerate when pressing on the accelerator pedal. Then it accelerates excessively and nearly uncontrollably before coming under control.
