My vehicle experiences violent front end steering and suspension oscillation ('death wobble') at highway speeds approaching 70 mph, I hit any road bump and it is triggered (bridge seams, potholes, uneven graded patches). It forces me to immediately let off of the accelerator, grip the wheel and slow way down so that it can stabilize again. Creating a potentially life threatening traffic hazard. I bought the jeep brand new with 10 miles on it from the Jeep dealership, I have maintained it solely through the dealership, and have not added any aftermarket upgrades. My first experience was around 23,000 miles. I brought it to the same authorized dealership where they replaced the stabilizer and sold me 4 new tires. 10,000 miles later the exact problem is back.

The transmission on this 2022 Jeep Wrangler Sport 2-door (3.6L) has twice failed to shift / provide motive power, requiring a tow each time. First incident: XXX, about 20,812 miles. A transmission warning appeared and the vehicle would not shift out of Park. It was towed to Stevens Creek Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, [XXX], Repair Order XXX. The dealer found DTC U11C2, replaced a new OEM Mopar valve body and a new Transmission Control Module, programmed them and road-tested the vehicle. It was picked up XXX. Second incident: XXX, about 21,209 miles. The transmission again would not go into gear and the vehicle could not move. It was towed XXX to the same dealer, Repair Order XXX, opened XXX and still open. The dealer says Jeep wants another valve-body replacement before condemning the transmission. Safety concern: loss of motive power / inability to shift, twice, without warning, can leave the vehicle unable to move and creates crash and stranding risk. No crash, fire, injury or fatality is reported for these incidents. The owner considers this a serious safety concern impairing use, value and safety. Prior damage: only a comprehensive insurance claim for rodent damage, not an accident. Vehicle background: purchased new in [XXX], delivered XXX (negotiated XXXX) from Sam Leman Chrysler Jeep Dodge of [XXX], listed sale price $43,875, no discount, under a 5-year / 60,000-mile powertrain warranty, and registered in [XXX]. My 2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara has experienced a recurring steering-wobble condition when traveling at highway speeds and hitting bumps or irregularities in the road. The steering wheel and vehicle shake violently, creating a safety concern because it can be difficult to maintain control of the vehicle during the event. In December 2023, an authorized Jeep dealership documented highway-speed shaking after hitting bumps, verified the concern, found the steering damper weak, and replaced it. In December 2024, the same dealership again verified highway-speed shaking over bumps and replaced the steering damper a second time. In August 2026, the problem returned, with approximately three wobble episodes occurring within a couple of weeks. I brought the vehicle to the dealership specifically for this steering concern. The repair order states: “CUSTOMER STATES STEERING WOBBLING MAYBE THE DEATH WOBBLE.” The dealership again identified the steering damper as needing replacement, and the damper was replaced. The recurring nature of this problem despite repeated steering-damper replacements concerns me because a sudden, violent steering wobble at highway speed may compromise the driver's ability to control the vehicle and create a risk of a crash. I have a video documenting the steering-wheel wobble and repair records from the dealership. The issue has been documented by the authorized dealer on multiple visits. I am reporting this condition because it has recurred after repairs and raises an ongoing safety concern.

Today is 10/19/2026. I have a 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4Xe Rubicon that has completed all of its safety recalls and recall notices. Each recall notice has been completed and each was marked as having no issues found. After completion of recall notice 68C (NHTSA 25V-741), we began to experience a complete change in how the car operates based on the vehicle mode selected on the 3 button panel (Hybrid, Electric, E-Save). We are now experiencing a consistent inappropriate kicking in of the gasoline engine when selecting and driving in the "Electric" only mode. Our normal driving of this car has occurred on the same roadways since we purchased the car from dealer stock. Prior to the Safety recall notice referred to as "68C/NHTSA 25V-741), we could select the "Electric" mode button on the 3 button panel selection and our 4Xe would run exclusively in the electric mode until it approached or reached the 1% mark. Now, the vehicle will kick in the gasoline engine even when the electric charge is above 50% ( I have actually had it kick in at the 75% mark). In addition, when this happens, the engine will rev to the 3000-4000rpm range unlike when the selection mode is chosen for "Hybrid". Today, while driving in the "Electric" mode and with the battery in excess of 50%, the gasoline engine kicked in about 10x. I finally had to press the "E-save" button to prevent the excessive engine kicking in and revving. Please initiate an investigation on what Chrysler did to change the software that now is rendering my vehicle useless in some respects and in most respects defeats the exact purpose of wishing to run in electric mode if I KNOW my trips will be under 20 miles. The excessive wear, tear, and strain on the engine due to the high revving can NOT in any fathomable way be deemed normal behavior! A review of some Jeep forums and Youtube channels can confirm that other owners are experiencing the same exact issues.

My Jeep Wrangler recently developed a noticeable steering shimmy/shaking at highway speeds. I hit a bump in the road and almost caused a loss of control. Three Rivers Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram (Pittsburgh, PA) documented the concern as “steering shimmy highway speeds” and diagnosed the steering damper as the problem and repaired the problem.

The check engine light was on and it said to service the battery charging components. When driving in hybrid mode it doesn’t switch to use the battery. When I was trying to pull off after stopping, the jeep hesitated and would not move and then all of a sudden jerked and took off almost making me crash and people crash into me.

i PURCHASED MY 2022 JEEP RUBICON 4XE USED ON MARCH 31, 2026. IN APRIL, I HAD A RECALL NOTICE FOR RECALL 68C. I TOOK IT TO MY JEEP DEALER AND HAD THE RECALL DONE. IMMEDATELY, I NOTICED THAT MY ACCELERATION IN ELECTRIC MODE & HYBRID MODE IS DRASTICALLY REDUCED TO THE POINT OF BEING UNSAFE. ATTEMPTING TO MERGE OR PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC, THE VEHICLE NO LONGER ACCELERATES LIKE IT DID BEFORE THE RECALL 68C WAS DONE. IT FELLS LIKE I AM DRIVING WIHT MY EMERGENCY BREAK ENGAGED, AS THE VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE NORMALLY. THE DEALER ADVISED THAT EVERYTHING IS NORMAL, HOWEVER IT IS VERY DIFFERENT. I WOULD NOT HAVE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE IF IT HAD A HESITATION WHEN ACCELARATING. LOOKING ONLINE FOR SUGGESTIONS, I DISCOVERED THAT THOUSANDS OF JEEP WRANGLER 4XE OWNERS WHO HAD THE 68C RECALL DONE, HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS ISSUE. I AM SURPRISED THAT NO ONE HAS BEEN KILLED OR SERIOSLY INJURED DUE TO THE HESITATION, CAUSED BY THE RECAL. I WOULD RATHER DEAL WITH THE POSSIBLE RISK OF FIRE THAN HESITATION CAUSED BY THE RECALL "FIX", IN THIS CASE THE CURE IS FAR WORSE AND MORE DANERIOUS THAN THE DISEASE/ISSUE JEEP WAS TRYING TO FIX WITH 68C.

I’ve had an ongoing issue with my car since earlier this year, 2026, and the code says “electric coolant heater” and i have a solid check engine light. they replaced the coolant heater a few months ago and now it’s doing the same thing again. There’s also another recall for the power steering and i’ve recently started to notice that when i start my car (which i normally will sit there for a few minutes before i drive to let everything “wake up”) there is a delay in the steering ability. my steering wheel will remain stiff unless i jerk the wheel to “wake it up” in a sense. this just started happening this week. the dealership that i got this thing at is being no help whatsoever and i’m getting tired of this!!! they don’t have a loaner car available to me so they’ve been telling me to wait to make a service appointment until they have a car available but i cannot wait on this issue any longer. matter of fact, this is absolutely ridiculous considering how much i pay for this thing every month and how lack of help the dealership has been!!!! I need a solution for this now

On October 8, 2026, at about 7:20 AM, my 2022 Jeep Wrangler (VIN [VIN]) lost gear selection while I was driving on highway 20 at highway speed. The check engine light came on, followed by a "Service Electronic Stability Control" warning, and then the transmission displayed "Shift to P then Desired Gear." Mileage was 23,816 to 23,819. This happened the day after I picked the vehicle up from a warranty repair for the same problem. It is the fifth repair attempt since I bought the vehicle on April 1, 2026: April 8 (valve body replaced), June 22 (TCM voltage codes P1DB9, P1614, U0402), August 25 (stability control warning), and October 6 (control module going offline intermittently, cause not found). The defect remains unresolved and creates a serious risk of a crash.

Our daughter (who is a student at the University of Virginia) had been having issues with her Jeep and the instrument panel. In addition to the "death rattle" which terrified her regularly when driving it on the highway, she had been complaining to us over the months preceding this accident that the car was doing odd things, the instrument panel was glitchy, would often have flashing lights and sometimes the steering wheel would feel tight or heavy. The day of the accident- she was driving to class on the UVA campus, going slowly (under 25mph) - and in the moments before the accident, while she was driving, the instrument panel started flashing lights, the fuel gage started going up and down, seeming to be having an electrical issue, so she pulled off the road going 22mph to get out of the way of pedestrians- there was actually a campus police officer directing traffic at the intersection she was going through. So, she quickly pulled off the road to a side parking area next to a campus building - and then suddenly the car accelerated rapidly at 40mph into the side of a building. The car was totaled, driver (our daughter) could have been killed as the jeep drove up a stairway and over an iron hand railing which could have impaled her - and at no point did the airbags deploy. The fact that the airbag didn't deploy during this address is crazy. Something was not right with this vehicle. We had just had it in the shop at Jeep Charlottesville where it was there for a week two weeks before this accident.

I own a 2022 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4xe. My vehicle underwent Recall 68C and related high-voltage battery evaluation/software work. The high-voltage battery was later replaced by Jeep under warranty. Immediately after that battery replacement, I noticed a significant change in the vehicle’s propulsion behavior that I had not experienced before. Prior to the replacement, when Electric mode was selected and sufficient battery charge was available, the vehicle normally remained on electric propulsion. Since the warranty battery replacement, the gasoline engine can engage unexpectedly even though Electric mode is selected and usable battery charge remains. I have also experienced hesitation during acceleration, including a delay or change in propulsion response before the gasoline engine engages. This has occurred repeatedly since the battery replacement and was not characteristic of the vehicle beforehand. I am concerned that the battery replacement, Recall 68C-related software, or associated battery/propulsion-control calibration may have altered the vehicle’s electric-mode operation. I consider this a safety concern because predictable acceleration is important when entering traffic, crossing intersections, making turns, or merging. Unexpected hesitation or a sudden transition from electric to gasoline propulsion can cause the vehicle to respond differently or more slowly than the driver anticipates. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether Recall 68C, subsequent high-voltage battery replacements performed under warranty, or associated software/calibration changes have introduced hesitation or unpredictable propulsion behavior in Jeep Wrangler 4xe vehicles.

I would like to report a safety concern with my 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4xe that began after Recall 68C was performed in January 2026. Prior to this recall, my Jeep did not exhibit the behavior I am now experiencing. Since the recall was completed, the vehicle has repeatedly showed unpredictable transitions between the electric motor and gasoline engine, delayed acceleration, loss of expected power, and unusually high engine RPM immediately upon the gasoline engine starting. When driving in electric mode the gasoline engine will sometimes start unexpectedly without what appears to be any normal engine warm-up period. When this happens, the Jeep does not accelerate normally. There is a noticeable lag and loss of expected acceleration. Because I am concerned about both engine damage and the safety implications of the delayed acceleration, I have essentially stopped using Electric mode. Unfortunately, I have discovered that the problem can also occur while driving in Hybrid mode. When the battery charge is below approximately 50%, the gasoline engine may start unexpectedly. When this occurs, the vehicle can repeatedly switch between gasoline and electric propulsion several times within approximately one minute. The result is a jumpy, inconsistent driving experience along with hesitation and delayed acceleration. I have experienced situations where I press the accelerator, there is a noticeable delay before the vehicle accelerates. In an emergency situation such as attempting to avoid another vehicle or accelerate out of a dangerous situation that delay could contribute to a collision. The vehicle also does not perform the way it did before Recall 68C was completed. It has less responsive power, the gasoline engine operates more frequently, and the engine can be started immediately, without warmup. This is particularly frustrating because I owned and drove this vehicle before the recall and know how the 4xe powertrain previously behaved. I attached photos in electric mode.

While driving my Jeep 4xe, the vehicle suddenly loses motive power without warning. The vehicle emits a chime, the "D" gear indicator flashes on the shifter and instrument cluster, the check engine light illuminates, and a message displays instructing me to shift the vehicle into Park. At that point, the vehicle will no longer accelerate, forcing me to coast and maneuver across traffic lanes to reach a safe location. This failure has occurred multiple times, including at highway speeds, creating an immediate safety hazard and increasing the risk of a crash. During several incidents, I narrowly avoided being struck by surrounding vehicles due to the sudden and unexpected loss of propulsion. The vehicle is currently at the dealership, and the dealership has confirmed the condition. A sudden loss of motive power while driving is a serious safety defect that requires immediate corrective action.

2022 Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid. The hybrid high-voltage system failed the first time it was used, in April 2026 at about 35,000 miles. I had not charged or used hybrid mode before that because of the manufacturer's high-voltage battery fire-risk recall guidance (recalls 23V-787, 24V-720, 25V-741) not to charge and to park away from structures. The check engine light came on at first use and has not stayed off except when cleared by the dealer. The vehicle was taken to an authorized Jeep dealer for the same hybrid high-voltage system concern on 4/19/2026, 6/17/2026 and 7/5/2026 without a fix. On 8/4/2026 the vehicle would not start at all and had to be towed. It stayed at the dealer 29 days (8/6 to 9/4/2026). The dealer replaced the main battery and found DTC P0E15-00 (electric coolant heater performance) with the high-voltage coolant heater in a 'locked permanent' unrecoverable state, and replaced the HV heater. The three earlier visits never identified this high-voltage thermal-management failure. Safety risk: a sudden no-start / loss of propulsion, and a failed cooling component in the high-voltage system of a vehicle population already under repeated battery thermal-runaway / fire recalls, where the manufacturer has acknowledged fires in vehicles that had received earlier remedies. The failures were confirmed and documented by the dealer on repair orders. The manufacturer (Stellantis) has been notified in writing and has declined to repurchase the vehicle. Repair orders are available on request.

The vehicle experiences a severe, violent, and sudden side-to-side shaking of the front suspension and steering wheel (commonly known as "death wobble"). This dangerous oscillation typically occurs at highway speeds (approx. 55–70 mph) immediately after the vehicle strikes a normal highway bump, expansion joint, or pothole. Note: As a 4xe plug-in hybrid model, the vehicle carries substantially more curb weight than a standard internal combustion engine Wrangler due to the heavy battery pack and electric drivetrain components. This increased mass significantly magnifies the physical forces and wear placed on the front suspension and steering linkage during impact. Despite having less than 30,000 original miles and no history of accidents, the vehicle exhibits rapid component failure. Front-end steering and suspension components—including the inner drag link and tie rod ends—were previously replaced and aligned on March 17, 2026. However, the exact same dangerous steering instability and component wear reoccurred by September 17, 2026, indicating a persistent, underlying design or durability defect that standard parts replacement fails to resolve. When this failure occurs, vehicle control is severely compromised, requiring the driver to abruptly decelerate in active traffic to regain control of the steering mechanism. This poses an extreme safety hazard to the occupant and surrounding motorists, creating a high risk of a collision or loss of vehicle control.

After recall 68C on this vehicle, my power output has noticeably altered. I did have a HV battery replaced due to failure as well. Yes, they have extended warranty for that HV battery, but also down scaled its original abilities so it is not the vehicle that we originally bought. It does not feel safe on the road, and is constantly under do not park in structures warnings from Stellantis.

After the 68C software recall the vehicle no longer operates the same as prior update in electric mode! While driving in electric mode and on a flat to fairly flat road and with a 50% or less battery the gas engine suddenly starts!! Revs to 3000+rpms then drops to 1500, back up to 2500, back to 1500 then shuts off! The gas engine isn't needed at that time!! When this happens it sort of confuses the drive train and may experience a loss of power. This may happen one or two more times before the battery runs out and it switches to hybrid mode. Hybrid mode works normally! This abnormality only occurs in the electric mode! This is scary when it happens and it started right after the 68C recall. I talked to the Jeep dealership service department and they checked for fault codes and there were none. I asked if they would open a STAR report and they said they did Although it's next to impossible to duplicate it for them as there's no way to tell when it will happen and it doesn't last more than a minute or two. I don't know what to do about this and neither does the service department Calling Jeep Customer Support does nothing as there is no way to talk to the technical department. I'm at a loss other than to report it here. I have heard from other 4xe owners having the exact same issues after the 68C recall. Please help.
