  Issue: complaint of rattle from exhaust Before replacement: Check for loose exhaust Aluminum isolator brackets (check if the bracket is movable by hand/bolts not fully fastened to the vehicle). If loose, tighten and check to see if the rattle is still present. Check clearances between exhaust components and Aluminum isolator brackets, as well as other parts of the vehicle. If physical metal-to-metal contact is identified, loosen the clamps joining the catalytic-side and muffler-side systems and slide the muffler side exhaust back until the 4 small M&M sized bulges can be seen on the driver-side cat-side pipes. Take care not to damage the system, do not use a hammer to break the muffler side free. The muffler side exhaust should be pushed towards the front of the vehicle until the rim of the muffler side inlet pipe meets the edge of the bulges. Re-tighten and check for rattles again. If the rattle is still present, replace the system.
