The 2026 Toyota USATF Outdoor & Para National Championships will be held in New York City from July 23 to July 26, 2026. This year's event commemorates the 150th anniversary of the first U.S. National Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which took place in New York in 1876. Toyota will continue its role as the title sponsor, providing support for athletes, officials, and event attendees.

Event Details and Historical Significance

The championships will take place at Icahn Stadium on Randall’s Island in New York City. Running from July 23 to July 26, 2026, the event commemorates a significant milestone in American track and field history. The inaugural U.S. National Outdoor Track & Field Championships were hosted in New York 150 years prior, in 1876.

Toyota's sponsorship extends to various aspects of the championships, ensuring support for participants and enhancing the experience for fans. The company's involvement includes interactive fan experiences and on-site activations throughout the event.

Toyota's Athlete Ambassadors

Toyota maintains a roster of athlete ambassadors who represent the brand, including several track and field and para track and field competitors. These athletes drive various Toyota models. Gabby Thomas, a track and field athlete, drives a Toyota 4Runner, while Michael Norman drives a Toyota Land Cruiser.

Para track and field athlete Jarryd Wallace uses a Toyota Tundra, and guide runner Jerome Avery drives a Toyota Sequoia. Other ambassadors include Anna Cockrell, who drives a Toyota Crown Signia, and Ryan Crouser and Grant Holloway, both of whom drive Toyota 4Runners. Roderick Townsend, a para track and field athlete, drives a Toyota Land Cruiser.

Fan Engagement and On-Site Activations

Attendees at the 2026 Toyota USATF Outdoor & Para National Championships can engage with several Toyota-sponsored activities. The "Toyota Field Support Vehicle" will feature a remote-controlled Toyota Tacoma on the field. This vehicle will transport implements like discus, hammer, and javelin back to the throwing area during field events, aiming to improve efficiency and reduce personnel needs.

The "Reaction Lane" offers an interactive challenge where fans can test their reaction times, comparing their results to those of Team Toyota athletes. Additionally, "The Claw" provides an interactive claw machine experience, housed within the bed of a Toyota Tundra, offering participants a chance to win prizes. The "Champion’s Chill" activation allows fans to take a personality quiz to identify their Team Toyota athlete counterpart and receive a frozen treat with a corresponding flavor.

Toyota's continued title sponsorship of the USATF Outdoor & Para National Championships underscores its engagement with track and field sports. The New York City event will offer both competitive athletics and interactive experiences for spectators, highlighting the brand's presence at major sporting events.
