Lexus Reports Strong June 2026 Sales, Electrified Growth
Lexus achieved an all-time best-ever June for sales in 2026, with 29,166 vehicles sold, marking a 3.9% increase. This performance contributed to Toyota Motor North America's significant growth in electrified vehicle sales across both Toyota and Lexus brands for the month and quarter.

Lexus recorded an all-time best-ever June for sales in 2026, moving 29,166 vehicles and marking a 3.9% increase in volume compared to June 2025. This strong performance contributed to Toyota Motor North America's (TMNA) overall growth, particularly in the electrified vehicle segment, which saw significant expansion across both the Toyota and Lexus brands during the month.
Toyota Motor North America's Quarterly and Monthly Performance
Toyota Motor North America reported total U.S. sales of 212,793 vehicles in June 2026, an increase of 10.1% on a volume basis compared to the previous year. Sales of electrified vehicles were a major driver, reaching 122,063 units, which is a 35.0% volume increase and accounted for 57.4% of TMNA's total sales for the month.
For the second quarter of 2026, TMNA's sales totaled 673,971 vehicles, representing a 1.1% increase in volume over the second quarter of 2025. Electrified vehicles continued their upward trend, with 383,091 units sold during the quarter, reflecting a 19.5% increase and making up 56.8% of the total sales volume. Andrew Gilleland, senior vice president of Automotive Operations Group at TMNA, noted that strong demand and careful inventory management were key factors in these consistent gains.
Lexus Division Sales Trends
The Lexus division achieved its best-ever June sales, with 29,166 vehicles sold. This represented a 3.9% increase in volume compared to June 2025, though the daily selling rate saw a slight decrease of 0.3%. Electrified Lexus models also performed well in June, with 11,436 units sold, an 11.7% increase over the prior year.
Despite the strong June, Lexus's second-quarter sales showed a decline. The division reported 88,760 vehicles sold for the quarter, down 7.5% in both volume and daily selling rate compared to the second quarter of 2025. However, electrified vehicle sales within the Lexus division for the second quarter still saw positive growth, totaling 37,300 units, an increase of 6.5%.
Electrified Vehicle Strategy and Market Position
Toyota Motor North America's strategy emphasizes a diverse range of powertrain options, with 33 electrified vehicle choices currently available across Toyota and Lexus dealerships. This approach aims to broaden access to electrification for consumers. The company also maintains some of the lowest incentive levels among full-line manufacturers, indicating sustained demand for its products.
The Toyota division also contributed significantly to the overall electrified growth, with its RAV4 Hybrid achieving an all-time best-ever sales month. The Toyota division's electrification mix reached an all-time best-ever 61.4% in June. This collective performance underscores TMNA's focus on expanding its electrified offerings and delivering value across various powertrain technologies, including hybrid electric, plug-in hybrid, and battery electric vehicles.
The latest sales figures highlight Lexus's strong individual monthly performance within a broader trend of increasing electrified vehicle adoption for Toyota Motor North America. While quarterly results for Lexus showed some contraction, the consistent growth in electrified sales across both brands signals a clear direction for the company's future product offerings and market strategy.
