Lexus Highlights GX and LX Overtrail Off-Road Capabilities

Lexus has released a three-part video series demonstrating the off-road capabilities of its GX Overtrail and LX Overtrail models. Filmed in Palo Duro Canyon, the series highlights the engineering and technology integrated into these vehicles for navigating challenging terrain. Core Drivetrain and Suspension Technologies

These include a full-time four-wheel drive system and a Torsen Limited-Slip Differential, which work together to distribute power effectively across varying surfaces, helping maintain traction.

For enhanced grip and control in extreme situations, both the GX and LX Overtrail models feature selectable front and rear lockers. These allow drivers to mechanically lock the differentials, ensuring power is sent equally to both wheels on an axle, even if one wheel loses traction.

Additional electronic features include Downhill Assist Control, which automatically maintains a slow, controlled speed during steep descents, and Multi-Terrain Select, which allows drivers to optimize vehicle settings for different surfaces like mud, sand, or rocks.

The Multi-Terrain Monitor provides a comprehensive view of the vehicle's surroundings, including underbody views, aiding navigation and obstacle avoidance. Complementing these systems, the vehicles are equipped with specially co-developed Toyo all-terrain tires, engineered to enhance the grip and durability required for the Lexus Overtrail off-road capabilities of the GX and LX Overtrail models.
