Acura Prepares for Sahlen's Six Hours at Watkins Glen

Acura is set to return to Watkins Glen International for the Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen on June 28, 2026, aiming to defend its title as reigning champions of the endurance race. The manufacturer will field two hybrid-powered Acura ARX-06 machines, continuing its pursuit of success in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship at the circuit, which has seen significant Acura Watkins Glen race victories.

Acura's 2026 Entry and Driver Lineup

Acura Meyer Shank Racing will enter two hybrid-powered Acura ARX-06 cars in the upcoming Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen. The #60 machine will be piloted by Tom Blomqvist and Colin Braun, the duo who secured victory for Acura in the 2025 edition of the race.

The #93 car will be driven by full-season competitors Renger van der Zande and Nick Yelloly, alongside Honda Racing Corporation-backed Japanese driver Kaku Ohta. Ohta previously competed with the #93 team at Daytona this season and participated in three races, including the Acura Watkins Glen race, in 2025. He currently leads the Super Formula championship with Docomo Team Dandelion Racing, having swept both races of the opening weekend, and also competes full-time in the Super GT championship with Honda.

Historical Performance at Watkins Glen

Acura holds a strong record at Watkins Glen International, with seven previous wins in IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship competition. This includes a 1-2 finish in 2022, achieved by the Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti and Meyer Shank Racing ARX-05s.

Individual drivers competing for Acura have also demonstrated consistent performance at the track. Colin Braun has earned five podium finishes (2018, 2021 twice, 2022, 2023) and two victories (2014, 2025). Renger van der Zande secured back-to-back wins in 2015 and 2016, along with three additional podiums (2021, 2022, 2024). Tom Blomqvist has two podiums (2022, 2023) in addition to his 2025 victory, and Nick Yelloly claimed a win in 2023. The #93 team has already secured a victory this season at the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, adding to the anticipation for their performance in the upcoming Acura Watkins Glen race.
