FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS, ENGINE
Acceleration felt weird when is performed from full stop or moderate speed to a “chase” speed (high revolutions), it doesn’t respond according to the action taken to the gas pedal. Also the crash sensor went off from time to time.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
It is UNKNOWN what was actually causing this, this is my assessment from how my car handled. I was ready to turn from a shopping center lot onto a road with 2 lanes of traffic, both lanes going the same direction. The traffic was heavy but a car left a gap for me to pull out into the lane closest to me. I stepped on the gas but I believe my car detected the cars in the far lane and applied the brakes? limited control of my acceleration? to prevent me from “striking a vehicle in the next lane broadside”. My vehicle rolled partially into the nearest lane but seemed to be fighting my efforts to accelerate and pull fully into my lane. The car that had left a gap for me to pull out had caught up at this point and laid on their horn in irritation. This could have caused an accident as no one in that lane would be expecting stopped traffic. My car continued to barely creep along until I was able to steer the nose around where it was not pointed at the far lane of traffic, then it detected I was “in a clear lane” and allowed me to accelerate. When driving in a high traffic urban area where the street is never completely empty of cars, you do not want your vehicle fighting you for control when you pull out into a break in traffic. My car allowed me to roll out into oncoming traffic and then took away my acceleration!

The contact owns a 2018 Toyota Camry. The contact stated while his wife driving 75 mph, the vehicle's speed began to decelerate to 10 mph. The contact stated the "See Dealer Immediately" warning light was illuminated. The driver was able to drive at 10 mph to their residence. The contact took the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed with "bad fuel". The contact stated they continued to experience a failure. The contact took the vehicle back to the local dealer, but they were unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact experienced the failure for the third time and took the vehicle back to the local dealer. The dealer diagnosed the failure with needing an ignition coil to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the wife experienced the failure for the fourth time. The driver took the vehicle back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing all the ignition coils to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 48,000.

I currently a 2009 toyota camry I was financed a year ago not even a year ago. from TKP autos in eastlake, ohio. this car consumes too much oil, so I use marvel mystery oil so every 2300-3k miles I have to change the oil.. also my key fob stopped working, i changed the batteries and they still dont work also the o2 sensors went as well and replaced them twice and they still keep stop working also i found a lot of information on consumer reports that the years 2007-2009 toyota camrys are highly unreliable cars to own or lease. ive seen a lot of complaints and other owners who had the engine sieze on them as well.. these cars are a lemon and not safe to drive also my dash board is very sticky as well from the sun and it turns out that is a melting affect that is dangerous as well also i see the accelerator pedal can give away and that is dangerous as well there should be recalls for the oil consumption and everything else.

The contact owns a 2014 Toyota Camry. The contact stated while driving 35-40 MPH, the vehicle started shuddering. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact was able to continue driving; however, the failure reoccurred several times. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it diagnosed that the torque converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 149,000. The consumer stated the car does not downshift when the accelerator is lightly depressed at any speed to maintain that speed, even on cruise control.

The dashboard of my Camry gets a sticky gloss when the sun is shining. The reflection from the glossy dashboard is reflected onto my windshield making driving hazardous whenever the sun is shining or if the weather is hot. I have to cover the dashboard with a towel to keep myself and other drivers safe because it is very difficult to see through the glared windshield. Dealer was contacted and I was told a recall was sent (about six years ago) but it never arrived to my home. You report regarding recalls, which I accessed today, says there are no unrepaired recalls for my vehicle. I am at risk, my passengers are at risk and every other driver on the road are at risk due to this well known, documented flaw in the 2007 Toyota Camrys.

The contact stated that the oil level was extremely low. The contact stated that 2 to 3 quarts of engine oil were added to the vehicle. The dealer was notified of the failure however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that a voicemail was left for the manufacturer however, the contact had not yet received a callback. The approximate failure mileage was 145,000.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
While stopped at a red light with my foot on the brake pedal only, the power switched from the battery of this hybrid vehicle to gas and started racing, causing the vehicle to accelerate and move through the crosswalk and into the intersection.? Had there been pedestrians in the crosswalk or traffic at the intersection, the outcome could have been tragic. I applied pressure to the brake which did not readily stop the vehicle until it had crossed into the intersection. Once the engine stopped racing and the car has come to a halt, I pulled the vehicle to the side of the road and tested it to determine if I could still drive it. I reported the problem to the dealer and they kept the vehicle for 2 days. I could feel the difference in the way the loaner vehicle performed. They indicated the problem was fixed although no other information was disclosed. Without reading the receipt, I drove the vehicle again, constantly alert to the problem and when the engine started racing and the vehicle started moving forward. I lifted my foot off the brake and kept slamming it against the brake pedal to stop the vehicle. I was recovering from an ulcer on the bottom of the second toe of my right foot which started bleeding leaving a wide hole on the underside of my toe. I reported this to my podiatrist who scheduled me for an emergency appointment. The phalanges in that toe were had been demolished by the force applied. The tendons had separated and the toe could not be salvaged. I was sent to the hospital to have the toe amputated and to see if the metatarsals could be spared. I went back to the dealership and the only work they did during the course of the week was to tint the windows that I begged them not to do. I have been unable to drive the vehicle.

Fuel pump failure 1st. Car immediately stopped while driving on main road almost causing collision, engine light appeared only. Car had been inspected by local repair codes identify fuel pump malfunction. Fuel pump was replaced . Car was driven less than 5 minutes and overheated. Overheating light on dashboard , exclamation light and engine light appeared. reason is still yet unknown.

The hood doesn't stay open. The hood uses two gas struts to be opened and they failed causing the hood to slam into my head and neck. The hood doesn't have a prop up bar which can keep the hood propped open. My car is a 2018 Toyota Camry Hybrid with 70,000 miles on it. The hood was opened all the way for 5 minutes before it slammed shut on me.

Transmission downshifts and accelerates without pressing the pedal. At times difficulty pressing pedals and then abruptly accelerates. Also, downshifts and slows down without breaking making it dangerous on the highway. Happens all the time. Everyday. Reading all the complaints about transmission. Criminal!!! it has not been recalled.
