We paid cash upfront for our vehicle and we no longer feel safe driving it because my wife is pregnant and her safety is extremely important to me. We reached out to Toyota but unfortunately they are ignoring our calls and so far there's no remedy for the defective airbag.

Coolant bypass valve not functioning and needs to be repaired. Car can overheat or cause other electrical issues. Dealer stated this is a frequent issue for a lot of models. Not covered under warranty.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
Only one incident almost caused an accident (there are a total of 5 different incidents that have happened however). I was pulling out of a parking lot into traffic. The light was green in the direction I was trying to travel, and there was traffic coming but they were far enough away that I could have safely turned into the lane and moved with traffic if the car would have accelerated as was expected. Instead, the collision system deemed that there was an impending collision about to happen and would not allow me to accelerate. On coming traffic had to swerve to avoid hitting me, which thankfully there was no car in the second lane and they were safely able to avoid hitting me. The car was taken to the dealer and the form that is included was supplied to the dealer and subsequently to Toyota engineers. After 4 weeks, the dealer returned the car because Toyota engineers stated that the PCS system is acting as intended, and there is nothing wrong with the system

Toyota Camry se 2013 When accelerating at a stop light or when slowing down to make a turn, it hesitates when stepping on it to go or when accelerating at a turn,. It will go about 5 - 10 feet and hesitate, It happens more several times in one day! It scares me and I’m worried about getting into an accident. No check engine light and does not throw any codes.

Car in reverse and going forward when foot on gas the car will take off at a high speed. Need to hit brakes quick to stop the car. Could cause an accident if other cars are around or pedestrians walking. I nearly hit a building.

I have notice for the past year when I’m driving the car around the city around 15-30mph the emergency auto braking system alarm sounds and shows on my dash board when I have nobody in front of me luckily the car doesn’t brake at all but is not normal for it to do that it just happens randomly maybe this year alone it happen 5 times. Nobody safety was put at risk the car doesn’t brake or anything but it just sounds the alarm to brake, like 100% of the time is a low speeds. I haven’t taken it to the dealer, and I have no warning lights nothing at all is just random.

Driving down [XXX] in Ohio, electrical components in the car started flashing and the check engine light came on. "Charging malfunction" something or other and it also said "steering power low". Then the car completely shutoff and I had to coast to the shoulder. It was then towed and is at a local shop. It's a 2019 with 75,000 miles - this should not have happened. I saw the 2020 Camry 2.5 liter recall for a crack in the engine, it would not surprise me if that is also what happened to my car. I was driving my car and out of nowhere my brakes stopped working I was really scared because I didn’t know what was going on thanks God I didn’t have an accident when the car stopped I check the cluster and it said “ breaking power low stop in a safe place” I look it up on the internet and it said that the problem is that the vacuum pump assembly isn’t working and that the Toyota Camry 2018 thro 2023 they all have that problem “recall” I was wondering if my car qualifies to get that part for free

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
Occasionally engine revs up while braking. The most incident was when braking for a stop sign. I took my foot off the accelerator and depressed the brake pedal. The engine speed increased and I had to step harder on the brake. Briefly a message appeared warning the brake and accelerator pedals were both depressed. I looked down and I could see nothing was touching the accelerator peddle. My foot was clearly only on the brake. This has also happened when trying to park, though I did not look at the gas pedal those times. Instead I shifted to neutral an turned of the engine. I have reported this to the dealer several times with no resolution. With the latest report the service manager was "not available" and has not returned phone calls. They claim to have never heard of the problem. By the way, there are no extra mats in the car. The only mat is the one installed by the manufacturer and it is secured by clips.

STEERING
I keep getting Steering Power Low. Visit your Dealer message. There no mechanical issues such as engine getting stopped or steering getting locked. But this is scary situation while you are driving in the highway. I went to the dealer there was no code that they could find related to this issue. I am just afraid that if something happens while I am driving and sterring suddenly locks or engines stops in the middle of busy highway. I got this message around 3 times.

With the car on, and wanting to take off, I pressed the accelerator pedal and there was a several second delayed reaction in throttle response/car movement. The car eventually started to move. This is the 3rd time I have went to push the gas pedal and the car did not immediately respond. There are no check engine or other warning lights on the dashboard. This is a huge safety issue as one time I went to pull out and the car acceleration did not respond almost causing an accident. I have not yet taken the car to the dealership but plan to soon. The last time I took the car to the dealer they said they would charge me, even if the vehicle is in warranty period, if they did not find anything therefore discouraging such items from being reported/further investigated. The first event was quite some time ago but the last 2 have happended in the last 30 days with the 3rd being 4.13.24.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
The instrument panel goes black while driving in daylight. Seems to be a non issue at night. You can not tell what speed you are traveling, if the car is running hot or how much gas is in the tank. Appears to be a major problem by searching for solutions. Many solutions have already been tried but seems to not fix the issue. Could be dangerous not knowing how fast / slow you are traveling. If you search this issue on [XXX] , you will see many owners have this same issue. I just purchased this car so do not know how long it has been an issue. Previous owner did not disclose this issue to me. I reached out to him but he has not contacted me back. I did buy it as is so there's that. The contact owns a 2014 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that the rear passenger’s side and rear driver's side exterior door handles had dislodged from the doors, making it difficult to open the doors from outside the vehicle. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 145,000.

VISIBILITY/WIPER
My Camry has the reflection from the dashboard causing vision issues looking out of the front windshield. Also the dash is very sticky and peels off if your finger nail hits it. I know Toyota had a TSB on this issue but when I reach out to them they said they knew about the issue but my car is out of the timeframe. If it is a safety issue it should not have a time limit, you need to be able to see out of the front windshield clearly? I have reach out to other dashboard repair companies and they will not touch this car due the TSB that was issued on the car. They say it is not repairable and I need a new dashboard.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The 12-volt battery has gone totally dead twice. Replaced the battery 2 times. Both batteries were fairly new. I believe there is some sort of drain on the battery that the test doesn't show. at a Toyota dealership, they said I didn't drive the car enough. When the battery failed the last time, I had driven the car over 1000 miles in the previous days before letting the car sit for 2 days. No way should the battery die this quickly.
