POWER TRAIN
My vehicle has about 5000 miles and twice now the transmission will not shift past reverse meaning I cannot get it into neutral drive or manual mode after starting. Last time it happened I had to restart the car about a half a dozen times and took over 15 minutes before the vehicle would shift into drive. It is not throwing a code and the dealer does not know what needs to be fixed and is unable to diagnose it, but they told me they have seen this issue on other cameras where it randomly will not go into gear. To be specific the shifter itself will not move past reverse. This represents the safety issue because if I threw it into park at a stoplight and this happened in traffic I would be stuck sitting in a lake. Until it went into gear again. My wife was trying to leave an area with a dangerous individual involved in a domestic violence dispute with another party and could not get the gear to engage or get out of the area. This is the second occurrence I am speaking of and put her in a danger situation while she tried to get the car to go into gear to be able to leave the area. Unacceptable with a new vehicle And with a dealer, not knowing what to do and no fix from the manufacturer. I am at a loss as to what I can do to get this corrected.

Bought 2025 Toyota Camry LE on 2025 January. Started noticing some movement on driver seat backrest just after few days of owning it. It makes big crunchy/creaking sound when I lean into the seat back and then lean forward again. Because of this, it doesn't provide stable driver position when turning the vehicle, accelerating from a stop and when sudden braking. it feels like it is not going to provide enough support in an unfortunate event of an accident. Took the car to the dealership when it had about 1500 miles on it. Dealership said , a technical took a look into and didn't find anything wrong with it and will have to live with it. I am already regretting purchasing a Camry. On [XXX], I was involved in a high-speed T-bone collision with a FedEx truck while driving my 2019 Toyota Camry SE (VIN: [XXX] ). Despite the severity of the crash — which totaled my vehicle, caused the windshield to crack, and resulted in my head slamming into the steering wheel — none of the vehicle’s airbags deployed, including the driver’s front airbag. As a direct result of this failure, I sustained head trauma and neurological symptoms. A CT scan taken immediately after the crash revealed a previously undiagnosed 11–12mm partially thrombosed brain aneurysm, which is now causing ongoing vision problems, speech issues, memory loss, and loss of balance. Upon researching known defects, I discovered that my vehicle had a recall for an improperly calibrated Occupant Classification System (OCS) that may prevent airbag deployment — recall #K0M, issued in 2019. I never received any notification of this defect from Toyota. The fact that no airbags deployed in a crash this severe clearly points to a critical safety system failure. I believe this failure greatly worsened my injuries and created long-term health risks that would not exist had the safety systems worked as designed. I am requesting a full investigation and am pursuing a claim for product liability and manufacturer negligence. This complaint is part of a formal record to hold Toyota accountable and protect other drivers from similar harm. The transmission producing whining noise. The noise starts from about 5-10MPH and continually increases in pitch as the speed increases. The noise is constant and doesn’t break throughout the hear shifts. The noise stops the moment the accelerator is let go. The noise continues with any amount of the accelerator being pressed. The contact stated that the vehicle was shuddering abnormally. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to the Limited-Service Campaign: (LSC) LSCE03. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided contact with the diagnostic trouble code: P2109 that was retrieved when the vehicle was taken to the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 105,000.

Vehicle became extremely hard to steer on curves and when taking turns nearly causing an accident as it wouldn’t return to center without a lot of effort the part that malfunctioned is the Steering Intermediate Shaft, problem has been identified but dealer said only covers vehicles year 2018 and NOT the 2019 models, THE PART IS THE SAME AND THE PROBLEM IS THE SAME yet they only fix one model and not the other , No lights comes up on the dash but the problem is very dangerous and it can Kill someone if problem is identified and noticed

The transmission malfunctioned and is available for inspection upon request. The transmission failing while driving is a safety hazard and has put my safety and others on the road at risk. The problem has not yet been inspected by a dealer or third party. There were no warning lights or engine lights prompted during this malfunction. Please confirm that the dealership will take ownership of this malfunction and is obligated to perform an inspection and repair. The 2012-2014 Toyota Camry U760 ATM ECM Software update recall is related to a potential transmission shudder issue that can occur in these model years, particularly when accelerating; this shudder is caused by a combination of factors within the transmission system, and the recall aims to address this by updating the car's Engine Control Module (ECM) software to mitigate the problem. Key points about this recall: •Affected vehicles: 2012-2014 Toyota Camry models with the U760 transmission.   •Issue: The car may experience a brief shuddering sensation when accelerating under light load, especially between 25-50 mph.   •Solution: Toyota dealers will update the ECM software through a recall service to address the shuddering issue.

SERVICE BRAKES
I was going down the road and suddenly my brakes locked up. I had no control of my car and I hit a telephone pole at 60 mph. I had the car towed to a Toyota repair shop and days later the guy told me it had been wrecked before. I was not told this by the dealership and nothing showed up on the car through CARFAX. The dealership had replaced 2 batteries within 7 months and I had taken it to the dealership because of the noise in the front end, later to be told it was due to the wreckage that was not fixed previously. I am now being told my Camry is being totaled.

POWER TRAIN, STRUCTURE:BODY, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
My Camry has received two professional transmission services as per the manufacturer recommendation, within suggested timeframes as it is now 176k. The transmission ( surely this is not something new to hear) Has FAILED. No prior sign or code. THIS VEHICLE DIED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY! It stopped automatically shifting and would not accelerate. There have been other owners of this same car, year ect. THAT HAVE LOST TRANSMISSION WHILE DRIVING!!!! Want to get to the bottom? HOW MANY 18CAMRYS MAKE IT TO 300k or even 200k without a new transmission. Most die 65k !! Lemon Come on. Toyota mechanics, YouTube, Toyota nation, dealerships, it is a well known fact that the 18 Camrys being that they cheaper out on so many parts, and added this new transmission, they’re known for failure! [XXX]. This company is [XXX] people. With jobs, kids, and now you’ve got to fork out minimum 6k and wait for 3-6 months to have car back??? How many people have been homeless due to this? 👋 I had a job and a home, boss wouldn’t let me work from home! I’ve rode a bicycle to work, in Florida to the next town over. Even with a loan, I’m out a car for months, so how many loans offer a no pay for 6 months? I’m hungry. Most people trans died in the 65k This is a rip off. The car can give back its safety award. The brakes gave out on me. The oil pan The brakes The trans The fuel pump. And the NOTORIOUS front bumpers. They come un snapped in every newer body style Carolla and Camry. Wing out beside fenders. And collision syste I’ve had people beside me in the same model car take a pic of my quick release snaps that I used to safely secure the bumper. This car is a lemon! Mine is a unicorn with trans failure despite the maintained by a local aamco owner (transmission specialist) trans dying at 178k “wow that is impressive!” Are you guys going to do anything? Just bought this car on 3/12/2025 Was assured nothing wrong. When taking off it goes about 8 ft then hesitates causing the car behind to almost hit me. Twice it's happened. Pulling out of busy intersections is dangerous. Also it will down shift while driving regularly. Causing cars to run up on you. It also almost died at.a stop sign. Could be tranmission. Not sure exactly.
