ENGINE
The contact owns a 2011 Toyota Camry. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, there was a knocking sound coming from the engine compartment. The contact also stated that the vehicle was consuming an excessive amount of oil requiring the contact to add a quart of oil every 3,000 miles. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed with the exhaust and the brakes needing to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The contact then took the vehicle back to the dealer where it was diagnosed with the torque converter needing to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure persisted. The contact then took the vehicle back to the dealer for the third time where it was diagnosed with needing a tune up and an oil change. The vehicle was repaired and the failure persisted. The contact wanted a second opinion so she took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with the engine needing to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure and a complaint was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 149,255.

SERVICE BRAKES
I was driving 75 mph on I-10 East going into Houston when I received a low braking power warning. My brakes were useless and I had to use the slow down gradually and slowly used the emergency brake. There is a safety recall on the vaccum pump for this year and model but my car did not qualify for this.

AIR BAGS, SERVICE BRAKES
I had a rollover accident in my Camry on 5/13/2021. My brakes locked up which sent me into a spin and then eventually flipping over an embankment. Only one of my airbags deployed and it was the passenger door airbag. The rest of the airbags did not go off. Yes the vehicle is still available for inspection. My safety was put at risk because of the brake malfunction and subsequently because of the airbags not deploying in the manner they are aupoosed to. I rolled the vehicle I'm sure the manner in which h I wrecked would have caused all airbags to deploy. No I never seen a brake or a airbag light on my dashboard. No one else has inspected the vehicle components other than an insurance claims rep to determine my vehicle is a total loss. I'm unsure on who I could have look at it without compromising the integrity of the findings. The brakes however were worked on by jd byrider a week and a half before the accident. They changed my rotors.

POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
The contact owns a 2012 Toyota Camry. The contact stated while attempting to accelerate at any speed, the vehicle shuddered and hesitated. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who confirmed that there was a recall regarding the transmission however, the recall had since expired. The failure continued and the contact learned that the failure may be due to a defective torque converter. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the recall had expired. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000. The car continues to get worse, terrible vibration/shaking & hesitates while driving & accelerating. In fear of being hit from behind or being stranded on the road. Please assist. Thank you.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ENGINE, WHEELS
I got my 150,000 tune, which included a computer refresh and alignment as well...well I asked for a replacement battery for my key fog and they gave a me a hard time about the battery...I just the need the battery changed on it and they said they would take care of it free of charge...when I got there they tried charging me $165 to change the battery in my key fog...which uses a round standard battery...and then they threaten me to take out the battery and then put the old one back in if I didn't comply. I ask to speak to the manager and he went ahead and did it for me like he originally had said....my dashboard after the computer refresh and key battery change my dashboard lights up with errors messages. And the car glitches and starts and shuts off when it wants to...and my alinement I got just before closing time and they reassuried me that it was good to go...and when I started driving it off the lot...it have another tire alignment on the opposite side of the car now....I've called them multiple times over and over and I've never heard anything back from them....

The contact owns a 2012 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that when the accelerator pedal was depressed the vehicle would shudder. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer several times and the failure was not diagnosed correctly. The contact then took the vehicle to Putnam Toyota (50 California Dr. Burlingame, CA 94010) where the failure was diagnosed as the torque converter. The contact stated that he was informed by the dealer and the manufacturer that the vehicle was outside of the extended warranty coverage mileage of 150,000. The contact was upset that the vehicle was no longer covered under the torque converter extended warranty since he had taken the vehicle to One Toyota of Oakland several times for the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 91,000.

My dash on my Toyota Camry has become sticky and shiny with a chemical smell. The visibility is blinding from a glare in bright days and also night driving makes visibility difficult. The chemical cannot be cleaned off and nothing helps with the glare the dash is causing

The contact owns a 2018 Toyota Camry. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle jerked while the accelerator pedal depressed. The “Low Braking Power” message was displayed on the instrument panel. The contact then received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V682000 (Fuel System, Gasoline), and the vehicle was taken to a local dealer to be repaired. Upon return of the vehicle, the contact stated that the failure persisted. The contact's mother had accelerated at a stoplight and the brake pedal had failed to operate as needed upon depression. The same “Low Braking Power" warning light was illuminated. Her mother also stated that the "stop in a safe place" and "maintenance required" messages also appeared on the instrument panel. The vehicle was driven to the contact's home without the proper braking functionality. The same dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was provided a diagnostic fee. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 8. Consumer would like to add after picking up the car from dealer there has been excessive amount of oil leak which dealer has not mentioned.

There was a previous recall on this vehicle for the dash melting and becoming sticky. I learned of this recall after purchasing it and would appreciate it if the recall was still honored. At least if half the expences covered for the manufacturer mistake.

SERVICE BRAKES
I was driving in downtown and a sudden loss of braking power. My speed was 20 mile/ hr and I push down brake strongly to stop the car. I was at the highest risk even stopped the car. The Toyota dealer said that I must replace booster vacuum pump while Toyota has recall to replace this part for certain camry 2018 but my car is not included.I had a warning lump at the same time of losing the brake power.

The car hesitates while driving different speeds and kicks in almost like the transmission is slipping I have taken it in to the local dealership and they continue to tell me that everything is fine, they have done what they call a software update stating that it should fix it but it has not, there are no open recalls for the vin number but its an on going issue.

my vehicle dashpad has suddenly begun to slowly melt and has become very sticky and shinny, the shininess causes a constant glare on the windshield, making it difficult and dangerous to drive especially during daylight hrs. I learned that there was a recall for this issues and contacted Toyota on 5/24/2021, and was told the recall for this issue expired in 2017, and there is nothing they will do for it now. I like to express that i purchased my vehicle in April of 2016, and was never notified of the recall, Toyota never sent me a letter informing me of the issue and i have taken my vehicle several time to the Dealer for other repair/maintenance prior to 2017 and was not informed of the recall by by them during that time. My case # with Toyota is 210524000564. i have searched the internet and also found that is a concerned issued with many other Toyota car owners. My vehicle is a 2008 Toyota Camry Hybrid.

THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PARK THE VEHICLE, THE DRIVER DEPRESSED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL BUT THE VEHICLE DID NOT STOP WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO CRASH AND HIT THREE OTHER VEHICLES.
