I can’t charge the car. I live in a city without a garage. I 100% need level 3 ChadEMO charging to use this car. Please pressure the automaker to fix it or buy back the vehicle as I cannot use the car. This is unacceptable from Nissan. Lemon!

Nissan announced recall R24B2 on September 19, 2024. The vehicle is at risk of overheating/fire when FAST CHARGING. Nissan has not provided ANY solution to this issue in the 14 months the recall has been open. Dealers have no information, Nissan says they are "working" on a software fix but give no date or schedule for repair. The official response from Nissan Corporation has been to tell us that they believe the recall solution of "DO NOT FAST CHARGE" is sufficient and they do not need to provide us any further assistance or compensation. The vehicle cannot be driven further than a single charge will allow because major EV charging station companies have now BANNED Nissan Leaf's from using their stations because of fire risk. This means outside of my HOME, I cannot charge the Leaf AT ALL. There is no usability of a vehicle that cannot be charged or powered outside of the home for risk of fire or damage to the battery. I was charged MORE money to have fast charging and a larger battery in this vehicle to be able to utilize it for ALL of my driving needs, including the ability to fast charge to increase range of the vehicle. Our vehicle had swollen battery modules that had bent or damaged the stacks and required a new battery to be installed due to the swelling of the modules leaving the vehicle unable to power on. Nissan replaced the battery in October 2025, but informed us despite a NEW battery the vehicle STILL CANNOT BE FAST CHARGED, as they are still unsure of how to fix the rapid heating of the cells. The vehicle will likely see the same swelling and degradation of the batteries without a PROPER solution from Nissan, leaving me to minimize any driving of a vehicle I am actively paying for, to avoid risk to my family, home and vehicle.

My 2019 Nissan Leaf SV (VIN [XXX] ) is affected by Recall 24V-700 / Nissan R24B2, a critical battery defect with no available fix since September 2024. Nissan has acknowledged the defect but has not provided any remedy. Despite repeated follow-ups with Nissan Consumer Affairs and their Arbitration Specialist, I have received no updates or resolution. The vehicle’s charging performance and safety are materially impaired. This defect has persisted for over one year, violating Nissan’s federal recall obligations. Nissan has a safety recall with no resolution. You cannot travel in this vehicle if you cannot use a fast charger. I have family emergency. I called Nissan consumer affairs. Case XXX. customer service said maybe a loaner car can be an option. MARSHAY a consumer affairs representative said this is not an option. There is nothing they can do. There is no resolution at this time or eta. Nissan should take all of these cars back if they are this dangerous and they don't know how to fix. Nissan mechanics dont know what to say and just refer you to Nissan Comsumer Affairs who dont have an answer. Slow charging is 8 hours or more, you can't go anywhere. Charging is 30 to 45 minutes at each station even if is called fast charging.

In fall 2024 we noticed our Nissan Leaf starting to no longer be able to hold a charge. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms prior to this problem. It would go from fully charged to zero with no warning (including when driving on the highway) and would stop accelerating above 35mph. This was stressful and unsafe. It took 5+ months to "repair" the battery at the dealership, only to have the same issue occur again a few months later. This time the dealership "fixed" the issue in a little over a month, only for us to drive it home and immediately have the issue occur again (on a busy highway - thankfully no one in my family was injured or killed). The car is currently at the dealership for a third time. Combine this issue with an active recall on the charging system for over a year with no known fix, this vehicle no longer feels safe for my family. The car battery is still well within it's warranty period. I do not feel safe driving this car any longer and have experienced dangerous situations three times in this vehicle in the past year (for myself, my family, and potentially others on the road). I do not trust any "fixes" by the dealership at this point - as we've been assured it has been fixed twice now only to find out it has not. Nissan acknowledges there is an issue, and I have copies of all the service records.

Vehicle was taken to Nissan to perform "initial remedy" recall P5A22 on 10/24/25 to address recall R24B2. Vehicle was taken from dealer and was driving on 10/27/2025 and experienced a dramatic slow down/turtle mode with "Service EV System Power Reduced" error message.

My 2022 Nissan Leaf is part of recall R25C8 involving a battery fire risk during DC fast charging. Nissan has advised not to use Level 3 charging, which prevents normal operation of the vehicle. The dealership refuses to provide a rental or loaner while I wait for the remedy. I am currently unable to use the vehicle safely for transportation. This recall has made the vehicle unusable and Nissan is denying transportation assistance. I am requesting NHTSA intervention.

I own a 2022 Nissan Leaf (VIN [XXX] ) affected by Recall 25V-655. This recall prohibits use of Level 3 DC fast-charging due to a potential battery-fire risk, leaving the car unsuitable for long-distance use. My dealer’s service manager told me Nissan may have a fix “in spring 2026 or not.” That means no remedy is available for at least 6–12 months. I purchased this car only days before Nissan filed the recall (signed 9/30/25, posted 10/1/25). My salesperson specifically told me that the 2019–2020 Leafs had a battery recall with no fix, but the 2022 was unaffected. The timing suggests Nissan may have known the 2022 recall was imminent but had not disclosed it to dealers or buyers. I am requesting NHTSA ensure Nissan provides a timely, safe remedy or compensates affected owners for loss of functionality and value. Nissan has failed to remedy this major defect in the functionality of this vehicle, for which I purchased it, and as of today, the local dealer, Empire Nissan of Lakewood, CO has not projected date for remedy. This is in direct relation to recall 24V-700/R24B2

No fix for Nissan Leaf level 3 charger issue: While an affected vehicle is Level 3 quick charging, the increased electrical resistance could result in rapid heating of the battery. If quick charging continues, a battery fire may occur increasing the risk of injury. Customers are instructed not to use Level 3 quick charging via the CHAdeMO connector until the remedy is completed.

From time to time the BCM (body control module) is stuck in a mode which disables the electric door locking and unlocking as well as the electric window lifters. This state can be fixed by disconnecting and reconnecting the vehicle battery. This issue happened two times recently. It appears to be a SW related issue as other functions of the BCM are still operational. E.g., the electric rear view mirror adjustment was still operational. The risk of this issue is that the door locks will not be unlocked automatically in case of a crash. Also the windows cannot be opened as an alternative escape opening in case the doors are blocked after an accident.

After the dealership has checked the rear view camera after manufacturer recall R23D7, the camera image is sometimes not displayed. Sometimes it helps to open and close the rear tailgate to reactivate the display of the rear view camera. The issue also seems to be dependent on ambient temperature. The manufacturer has failed or is unable to remedy this safety recall permanently. Before the recall was checked by the dealership, the vehicle never had an issue with the rear view mirror image not being displayed. When asking the dealership to fix it they told me that I need to pay for the repair of the wiring harness and it is not covered anymore by the recall.

Nissan initiated a recall for its stage three fast charging (R24B2). This was initiated in September 2024, with an initial completion date of November 2024. It was updated after that deadline passed to March 2025. As of today there is still no solution to the issue. This severely limits the use of the vehicle since it cannot be fast charged Nissan has failed to remedy the issue after multiple times going to a dealer. Nissan also will not offer any sort of compensation or other solution to the issue i.e. car rental, which was positioned. My last attempt to contact Was on 9/25 in which I spoke with a regional Nissan, customer relations manager, who stated that there was nothing they could do until a resolution is reached.
