  ECM Reprogram Dealer Inventory *****Dealer Announcement***** Nissan is conducting a dealer inventory service action to update Electronic Control Module (ECM) software on 7,719 specific 2017 Titan and 4,759 Armada vehicles identified in Service Comm. On the affected vehicles, the ECM software is being updated to refine the MIL illumination logic for the exhaust gas temperature sensor. Affected vehicles are not subject to stop sale and are either currently in dealer inventory or assigned and in transit to the dealer. Nissan requests dealers to complete this software update prior to sale to ensure customer satisfaction. *****What Dealers Should Do***** PLEASE FOLLOW THE ATTACHED REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Verify if vehicles currently in new dealer inventory are affected by this service action using Service Comm I.D. PC522 for Titan or P6334 for Armada. - New vehicles in dealer inventory can also be identified using DCS (Sales-> Vehicle Inventory, and filter by Open Campaign). - Refer to NPSB 15-460 for additional information - Please continue to check newly arriving inventory for campaign applicability. 2. Use the attached procedure to install the updated software. 3. The service department should submit the applicable warranty claim for the action performed so it can be closed on Service Comm and release the vehicle. ***** Dealer Responsibility ***** It is the dealer?s responsibility to check Service Comm using the appropriate campaign I.D for the inspection status on each affected vehicle currently in new vehicle inventory. Nissan requests dealers to perform this repair on new vehicles in inventory prior to being retailed to ensure customer satisfaction.

  BLUETOOTH, USB, AND AUX FUNCTION DIAGNOSTIC TOOL SERVICE INFORMATION The Enhanced Multi-Media Interface Tester (EMMIT) J-51922 is a new special tool that tests the functionality of the following features: Bluetooth o Pairing/Connecting o Phonebook Access Profile o Hands Free Profile (for calls) o Bluetooth Audio test o Message Access Profile (for text messages, if so equipped) USB o Tests USB music playback o Tests USB music browsing capability AUX o Tests AUX Jack playback Use EMMIT to diagnose symptoms related to Bluetooth, USB, and AUX. If EMMIT passes diagnostic tests, the symptom is caused by the customer?s phone and not caused by the AV control unit. DO NOT replace the AV control unit. NOTE: If an AV control unit is replaced for multi-media issues that can be tested with EMMIT, a printed copy of the EMMIT diagnostic results must be included with the returned unit. See page 2 for more information about the EMMIT tool.

  2017 ARMADA; HEADLAMP AIMING SERVICE INFORMATION When adjusting the headlamps on an Applied Vehicle, make sure to follow the procedures in the Electronic Service Manual (ESM). - Warranty claims for headlamp adjustment are subject to audit. - Claims must have the measurements for dimension H and A (shown in this bulletin) listed on the repair order and on the Technician Comments line of the claim. - Claims submitted without these measurements may be denied. If a customer reports their headlamps are not aimed correctly: 1. Make sure the manual headlamp aiming control is set to '0' (see page 2). 2. Follow the exact procedure in the ESM for headlight adjustment. CAUTION: Do not deviate from the adjustment procedure in the ESM. 3. Refer to the Clarifications of the ESM Vertical Headlamp Adjustment Procedures in this bulletin.

  PLASTIC INTERIOR TRIM PROTECTIVE COVERING REMOVAL SERVICE INFORMATION Vehicles are delivered with plastic interior trim protective covering on the front and rear seats, front and rear door panel finishers, steering wheel, and sun visors (see examples on page 2). When removing the protective covering, care must be used to avoid scuffs, scrapes, cuts, and other abrasive contact to interior trim components. DO NOT use sharp objects like razor blades, box cutters, knives, etc. when removing the plastic interior trim protective covering. IMPORTANT All soft trim described in this bulletin is on automatic return to NNA. Any trim found damaged in the way described in this bulletin will be charged back to the dealer.

  SERVICE INFORMATION Temporary tire Flat Spotting is common on New Dealer In-Stock vehicles that have not been occasionally moved. Flat Spotting can occur after the vehicle has been parked (not moved) for a few days, or longer. In most cases it is temporary. In extreme cases it can be permanent. Vehicles should be moved every 30 days, in one direction only, enough to rotate the tires 90° (see Figure 1). Moving vehicles as shown will prevent tire Flat Spotting.   SERVICE INFORMATION Occasionally customers may notice water vapor or fog in the headlamps. The information, illustrations, and flow chart in this bulletin are provided to help you in determining if an incident for water/condensation in the headlamps is normal or not. Nissan?s new vehicle limited warranty does not cover physically damaged (cracked or broken) headlamps. All current headlamp assemblies are vented to the atmosphere (not sealed). - This is necessary to allow for expansion and contraction of air from temperature "variations" (warmer or colder) without damage to the headlamp. - Moisture in the air sometimes "travels" into and out of the headlamp assembly through these vents. - Certain environmental conditions may cause moisture to condense. - The fogging/cloudiness should disappear over time when the headlamp is in a dry environment.   IF YOU CONFIRM The MIL is "ON" with DTC P0603 (ECM BACK UP/CIRCUIT). ACTION 1. Confirm that the battery voltage is 11 volts, or more, with the ignition ON (engine OFF, not running). 2. Erase DTC 3. Perform DTC confirmation steps in the Service Procedure. 4. Confirm 1st trip DTC P0603 is not stored. NOTE: P0603 is often the result of low battery voltage, discharged battery or battery terminal disconnections. Please see this bulletin for furtner details.
