Summary
Complaint The "Ambient Light Warning Assistance Inoperative" warning message is displayed in the instrument cluster and the light-emitting diode strips are not working. This message is set by the active ambient lighting control unit (N162/1), when a light-emitting diode strip is missing or where a fault is detected in the light-emitting diode strip. Cause The following causes are possible: 1. Rework in active ambient lighting area. The ambient lighting is switched on and the connectors are disconnected from the wiring harness.NO fault code is stored. 2. Fault code 123X87 (communication error) is stored in the active ambient lighting control unit (N162/1) and an lightemitting diode strip (E34/1-6) is displayed in the quick test with ! (exclamation mark).. 3. Fault code 186X00 (malfunction) stored in the light-emitting diode strips (E34/1-6). 4. Fault code 186x98 (overtemperature) stored in light-emitting diode strips (E34/1-6). 5. There are no fault codes stored in the active ambient lighting control unit (N162/1) and in the light-emitting diode strips (E34/1-6). Remedy 1. Lock and unlock vehicle to reset the active ambient lighting control unit (N162/1). IMPORTANT: When locking, the visual locking verification signal must be visible. Make sure that all the doors are shut. After locking, wait until the instrument cluster switches to OFF, then press unlock. 2. Run guided test as per XENTRY Diagnosis (check electric lines and connectors).

Complaint Tailgate opens unintentionally. Cause Accidental or unnoticed activation of the button to open the tailgate on the vehicle key. E.g. when stored in trouser pocket, handbag etc. Remedy As of the 6th generation, the vehicle key can be recoded so that the tailgate no longer opens as a result of a long press on the button, but by double-clicking on the button instead.

Complaint â¢ The flush-mounted door handle could jam when it is pulled out and may move in a jerky manner when doing so. â¢ In the area of the paneling section of the door, paint damage could be present (picture 1) and/or an abrasion point could be present at the door handle (picture 2) Cause The door handle could be misaligned in the y direction and/or the z direction (picture 3); as a result, the door handle could brush the door at the paneling section of the door. Remedy 1.) Loosen screws from bearing bracket (picture 4, step 1). 2.) Remove bearing bracket (see picture 4, step 2) from door. 31.10.2022 11:14:46 RROWELL Â© Copyright Mercedes-Benz AG Page 2 / 6 â¢ The door handle must be in pulled-in position. â¢ Open the affected door and push the door lock's rotary tumbler into the main catch. â¢ Lock the vehicle using the transmitter key so that the door handle is pulled in. â¢ Detach plug connector from bearing bracket (center slot). 3.) Paint over paint damage at door paneling (see picture 1) according to manufacturer specifications, using spot repair procedure if necessary. 4.) Loosen old assembly frame (picture 5, step 3). â¢ The assembly frame is bonded. â¢ Remove adhesive residue at front door. â¢ Bonding surfaces must be free of dust, oil, grease, wax, dirt residues and other adhesive components. Otherwise, this can lead to bonding problems. â¢ See "Parts" for part number of cleaning agent. 5.) Position new assembly frame (picture 5, step 3) at door. â¢ Remove protective film of tape at assembly frame beforehand. â¢ The assembly frame (picture 5, step 3) must have the same clearance all around the flange. 6.) Replace door handle, if an abrasion point (picture 2) is present.

Complaint The surface-flush door handle sometimes does not retract when the vehicle is locked. It is only after repeated locking operation that the door handle retracts. Cause Motor fault detection (FC B18D96) is triggered in the bearing bracket electronics of the surface-flush door handle (A17/x) during the retracting movement and an adjustment for this cycle is prevented.
