Front Stationary Sunroof Panel with a panoramic sunroof, the stationary panel located between the windshield and the panoramic sunroof cracked and ultimately shattered. Needed removal of the bonded panel and installation of a new front panel. There was a RECALL CAMPAIGN BULLETIN 2021070010 issued August 2021 but did NOT identify problems for SUV's having later year models such as 2022 GLE. The panel is not available for inspection as it has been replaced Friday, February 13, 2026, by Safe Tech Auto Glass with costs born by owner. There are photos before replacement on my phone, but not on desktop computer. Star Motor Cars, Houston, had identified the problem saying it was the same as the RECALL for earlier year models. Spoke with Mercedes Benz Customer Service on February 09 and 10, 2026. No satisfaction for 2022 GLE model.

While driving at night all error light showed up. I slowed down to the side of the road and while I was slowing down the engine died. I tried to start the car which worked but when I pressed the gas the engine died again. Tried it two more times with the same results. Then turned the car and waited a bit with the engine running. slowly started driving and was able to get home driving 20 mph. The next day took it to a shop that said that the battery was weak and they replaced the battery. Drove out of the shop and started hearing nosies from the engine. Immediately came back and was advised to take it to the dealer. Towed it to the dealer that checked it and said that they found metal in the oil filter and that I need to install a new engine. I read online and found many complains about the same engine issue with 2021 Mercedes GLE 350. Mercedes refuses to take responsibility that they built a faulty engine.

This has happened twice. They “fixed” it and returned it to me and it did it again. I was about to pull out into traffic, once on the interstate and another time on a 2 lane highway… right as I hit the gas to pull out the car lurches forward and dies. Comes to a complete stop. It won’t crank back up, it won’t go into neutral or drive or reverse. The electoral system goes crazy and all lights start going off. One car had to go in the median to avoid colliding with me. I’m waiting on a police report but this was so scary I’m terrified to drive my car. The first time 4 weeks ago they said total electrical failure and fixed it. I drove it another few weeks and it did it again. The cop told me that I could have killed aomeone because when it stopped it didn’t even roll. The break was locked. We couldn’t push it out of traffic. We had to call a wrecker.

The vehicle has repeatedly experienced a sudden loss of acceleration, entering a reduced-power state while driving. Most recently, this occurred less than one week after I was advised that the issue had been fully resolved through a relay replacement. Critically, these incidents have occurred while my [XXX] child was in the vehicle, creating an unsafe and unacceptable situation. Below is a summary of the work that was done to resolve the safety concern. October: Drivetrain/Powertrain control unit internal fault Replacement of gateway/powertrain control module Wiring, grounding, and software inspections November: Active Brake Assist, ESP, and voltage supply faults Failure of both rear wheel speed sensors Replacement of left and right rear wheel speed sensors December: Dealership identified a faulty relay as the root cause Relay replaced and vehicle returned to service January, the vehicle again lost acceleration. And now, again in February. The same loss in acceleration incident. At this point, the vehicle has demonstrated a pattern of unresolved, safety-critical electrical failures. Given the repeated nature of the issue, the prior replacement of major components, and the involvement of braking and drivetrain systems, I no longer feel confident that additional part replacement without corporate oversight will result in a safe or permanent resolution. I am submitting this complaint regarding my Mercedes-Benz GLE350 with VIN [XXX] . I have brought the vehicle in for service on multiple occasions—October, January, March, May, and November—due to recurring transmission-related issues. These issues include jerking, delayed acceleration, and irregular shifting. Each time, the dealer did not confirm a definitive fault but performed software updates or adaptations. While the symptoms temporarily disappeared, they repeatedly returned. I am concerned that the root cause remains unresolved, and I seek a proper resolution. Supporting documentation is attached. Car took off after going over railroad track, and accelerated without driver being able to control it. The breaks and steering went out as well. It’s like car was being driven remotely. Crashed into fence, and there was no warning. The car accelerated. The car bounces back and forth when brakes are on, and again last year stopped in the middle of traffic. Water damage was leaking in as well after 8 months having this car. First major incident was December 2024, but rocking and began one month after purchasing vehicle in August of 2024. Acceleration incident; December 2024: 4 months after purchase; vehicle stopping in traffic: April 2025 8 months after purchase. Apparently new tires were put on. Almost had a blow out within 1 year and 4 months of purchase and found out when getting oil changed this past December 2025. Lights and radio randomly shut off, and gas’s tank is often locked or will not close. This car is scary, and has had problems that someone has covered up for a very long time. I have papers claiming everything was checked upon delivery; However; two incidences alone could have ended in multiple fatalities. Someone is responsible for hiding something something here, and this needs to be reported before someone or multiple people die that is due to a defect in the car. MCC 478-877-5740 478-737-2010

This is regarding a 2021 gle 350. The car was parked overnight and in the morning was unable to start or crank . I had to tow the vehicle to the service center that has maintained the car since purchased date and they told Me there’s a problem with the engine and I will need a new engine costing $28,000 dollars., the car has 42,000 miles and has an impeccable service history with Mercedes Benz. They did not tell me any specific engine part that’s faulty. There was no warning lights, check engine lights. Had I been driving this car and it happened it could have been catastrophic.

Cooling system failure due to cracked coolant line beneath intake manifold at 57,000 miles. Part # 264-200-42-01. Sudden coolant loss can cause engine overheating and potential engine stall while driving, posing safety risks. The original part was plastic and has been superseded by manufacturer to metal, suggesting design inadequacy. This was confirmed by Mercedes Benz dealership and also by MB USA. There have been multiple reports by other owners online, indicating this has been a common problem on a 2020 GLE 350. There was also an article in Jan 2022 stating that Mercedes had sent a letter to 800,000 owners informing them of a defect, but no there was no recall due to part shortage. https://www.insurancejournal.com/news/international/2022/01/05/648140.htm Yes, dealership has diagnosed it and confirmed this is the problem. There was a warning lamp/message stating low coolant level, which prompted me to take the vehicle to the dealership. Car has been serviced regularly at the Mercedes dealership. Strong risk of overheating.

The contact owns a 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE450 4-Matic. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the heads-up display was continuously flashing and failed to operate as designed. The contact stated that the failure had occurred two days after purchasing the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with a dashboard mat coating failure. The dealer informed the contact that the failure was an engineering failure, and only the engineers could repair the vehicle. The dealer met with the engineers and was informed that the vehicle could be repaired in the first quarter of 2026. The contact stated that the failure persisted for a year. The contact had previously purchased a similar vehicle that the manufacturer had repurchased under the Lemon Law due to the same failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 75.

Radiator started leaking in <3000 miles of driving the brand new GLE 580 Mercedes Benz. Twice I got errors in the car that stated check coolant level I could hear liquid moving in the front of the car when I parked it. Once while driving, the AC totally stopped working and on the entire drive, I couldn't feel the cool air. I also got 48V battery issue during this drive. I called the dealer and they said not to worry and that they will top off coolant. A few weeks later, I got another error and this time I took the car in and the dealer said that the radiator was impact by an "unidentified debris", had developed a leak and coolant was leaking. They refused to cover this under warranty and I had to pay out of pocket despite multiple requests to cover under warranty. This was a brand new car, no accident, this happened under normal driving conditions. The dealer and the manufacturer have failed to provide any documentation or engineering review. I believe this was a problem that existed in the vehicle prior to my purchase, i was sold a defective vehicle and Mercedes Benz didn't have proper protection in place for the radiator. I request NHTSA to do a thorough review.

- #11712886January 23, 2026FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
While driving on a limited-access highway at 65 mph with cruise control engaged, the vehicle unexpectedly reduced speed to 50 mph without any driver input under steady traffic and road conditions. No braking was applied by the driver, and no warnings or alerts were displayed prior to or during the speed reduction. Separately, the vehicle’s displayed speed-limit information was unstable during highway driving. The display repeatedly changed between the correct posted speed limit, a blank display, and “---” under consistent conditions, without changes in roadway, signage, or map context. This behavior was observed multiple times and was captured on video recording. The unexpected reduction in speed created a safety risk due to loss of speed relative to surrounding traffic.

Transmission. Transmission has very rough, "jerky" shifting when downshifting and upshifting. There was a bad 'jerk" when downshifting from 5 to 4th gear. Dealer acknowledged the problem and provided a transmission software upgrade. The problem was somewhat alleviated but the transmission still exhibited rough shifting, both down and up shifting. More concerning occasionally, when turning a corner and coasting, sometimes the vehicle would surge ahead moderately because of shifting. Some criticism state that the brakes will "grab' occasionally. I originally assumed that this problem was the brakes, but after some experience realized that the rough and "jerky" shifting was responsible. I've owned many cars over my 80 years, and this is, by far, the worse performing transmission that I've experienced.

When I got gas the estimated range indicated 308 Miles. We traveled approximately 134 Miles the estimated range was at 86 Miles it was dropping rapidly but average miles indicated 26.5 MPG. The next day we added fuel again and we were at 382 Miles. Then we drove 70 miles and the fuel indicator was showing that our range only decreased 15 Miles. During the trip the range increased multiple times and between the two days we traveled we did not know how much fuel was left in the car. The first trip it showed that we burned half a tank and the second day it showed we hardly burned any gas. This particular model has Open Recall for fuel pump system issues and display software. We were afraid that we were running out out of gas and would not be able to complete our trip or run out of gas in the middle of the highway.

Owners of affected Mercedes-Benz vehicles were given no meaningful advance warning that core, built-in safety and emergency communication systems would be permanently disabled. No replacement system has been offered, no retrofit path exists, and no alternative emergency solution has been provided. The manufacturer has instead unilaterally orphaned these vehicles by discontinuing backend support required for functionality that was present at the time of sale. These vehicles were manufactured and sold with non-paywalled, standard safety features, including automatic emergency call (E-Call/SOS), crash notification, and airbag deployment communication designed to contact emergency services when a driver may be incapacitated. With the discontinuation of backend services, these safety-critical functions will no longer operate, meaning there will be no automatic communication of airbag deployment, crash events, or emergency assistance requests, despite the physical hardware remaining installed in the vehicle. In addition, connected vehicle functions that support vehicle location, tracking, and remote access—features that can materially assist in emergency response, theft recovery, and post-collision assistance—were removed without explanation, compensation, or transition plan. These systems simply ceased to function, leaving owners without clarity, notice, or recourse. As a result of these actions by Mercedes-Benz, affected vehicles are now materially less safe than when purchased, through no fault or action of the driver or owner. A vehicle originally marketed and sold with integrated emergency response capability has been degraded after sale, creating a safety risk in precisely the situations these systems were designed to address. This issue concerns the post-sale removal of safety-critical functionality, not optional convenience features, subscriptions, or infotainment services.

There is a known issue with the Cylinder Heads on specific models of Mercedes vehicles. Symptoms of M264 Cylinder Head Failure If your GLE 350 is experiencing these symptoms, it may be covered under the extension: Check Engine Light (MIL): Often triggered by misfire codes. Rough Idle: Noticeable shaking or uneven idling when stopped. Loss of Power: Potential stalling or significant power reduction during acceleration. Low Compression: Diagnostic tests often reveal low pressure in one or more cylinders. This is not being addressed my Mercedes USA where Mercedes Canada has offered an extended warranty. Using social media I have comprised a list of over a hundred impacted owners. Many more exist. What this does is cost catastrophic failure of the engine leaving the driver stranded in whatever lanes they were traveling in. I am disabled and for me this created a life threatening situation. When reaching out to MBUSA the answer is simply "not warranty exists" where MB Canada has extended the warranty to an additional 15k miles from notice. My engine blew. The replacement cost is near $20,000 dollars. The mileage on my engine was 65k. Many others are impacted and a class action lawsuit is the only other course of action it seems. We've had this car on lease for 23 months, and it has had an escalating pattern of electronic, mechanical and brake issues. Earlier today, on January 5, the car started to slow down and started shaking on the highway today and when I used the brakes the full body of the car started rattling and the brakes were far less responsive than they should have been taking far longer to decelerate than safe. There was an alarm with a turtle warning me to move over. On January 4, We parked our car in a parking lot and went into a store, when we returned all of the windows were lowered and the moonroof's window was also retracted. The car was beeping and making loud noises and then had issues starting. Prior to both of these issues, the car has taken to Mercedes repeatedly for locking passengers into the vehicle and blaring alarms, not allowing passengers to leave and the seatbelts will not retract. The airbag system has also malfunctioned during these periods. Mercedes has repeatedly been informed of these issues and has claimed that there were bugs in the car's code that they had fixed; however, each time they have fixed the issue a new issue has arisen. In late November 2025, a representative from Mercedes corporate asked for us to take the vehicle back to dealer for further inspection after which the dealership said they had carried out major updates and returned the car in early December. After that the car had been hardly driven until this week. This was the first major drive of over 60 miles.
