SummaryThis NCU supersedes the prior NCUs issued on December 1, 2023 and February 06, 2024 and includes additional MY 2019 AMG G63 vehicles. In our continuing efforts to assure the proper performance of Mercedes-Benz products and to enhance the satisfaction of our customers, Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (“MBUSA”) is extending the warranty coverage on the engine thermostat (including software update) installed in certain Model Year (“MY”) vehicles (with engines M176, M177, M178) listed below from the original New Vehicle Limited Warranty of 4 years/50,000 miles to 15 years/150,000 miles (whichever occurs first), due to the following condition In the affected vehicles, the sealing ring in the engine thermostat could detach, causing a delay in the heating of the engine coolant. This may also cause the check engine Malfunction Indicator Lamp (‘MIL’) to illuminate.

SummaryComplaint For the potentially affected vehicles, excessively high aging of the battery was calculated at cold battery temperatures (<50°F) and the MIL activated accordingly, even though there is no corresponding high level of aging physically. In this regard, the fault code P0A7F00 "The age limit of the hybrid/high-voltage battery module has been reached" is displayed in the N127 PTCU control unit and/or A66 battery module control unit (48 V battery). Cause Faulty computation of the age limit of the 48 V battery. Remedy Do not replace any parts!! Step 1: Perform the software update of A66 battery module (48 V battery) After SW has been updated, perform the following reset procedure: Step 1: Read the State of Health Resistance - (SOH-R) Step 2: If SOH-R <=125%: Clear fault memory in PTCU(N127) and 48V battery (A66). Procedure finished. If SOH > 125%: Drive for a duration of 60 minutes to retrain the SOH-R value. Step 3: Read the State of Health Resistance - (SOH-R) If SOH-R <=125%: Clear fault memory in PTCU(N127) and 48V battery (A66). Procedure finished. If SOH > 125%: Park vehicle in Workshop for >12 hours in warm ambient temperature >60F, afterwards drive for a duration of 60 minutes. Step 4: Read the State of Health Resistance - (SOH-R) If SOH-R <=125%: Clear fault memory in PTCU(N127) and 48V battery (A66). Procedure finished. If SOH-R is still >125%, open a TIPS case.

SummaryComplaint Customer states that the CEL is lit in the instrument cluster Cause Debris in the coolant system Remedy Please refer to the specific repair instructions for the vehicle you are working on in the attachments section of this LI. Before beginning the flushing procedure, remove the thermostat and inspect it for debris. Pay close attention to the gap between the inner sleeve and the body of the thermostat. Then open a TIPS case and request the tool you will need. Document and upload pictures from the thermostat inspection along with a CUL and IQT. In your request include a contact name, phone number, and shipping address for the tool to be sent. Before the tool arrives: • Remove and replace the coolant expansion tank (reservoir) and the main radiator. • Without removing the components: flush the heater core and changeover valve (located in the right front wheel arch) in the opposite direction of flow until no debris remains. Once the tool arrives, proceed with flushing the vehicle per the instructions attached in this LI. A picture of the filter after each flush must be taken. If after the prescribed number of flushing attempts debris is still being collected in the filter, upload all the pictures to the TIPS case and wait for next steps. A scale of not-acceptable to acceptable debris level in the filter is in the attachments for you to make an assessment as well.

SummaryComplaint Fuel door may require several attempts to open. Please note that if the complaint "Fuel filler flap not opening" occurs, it is important to check the fuel filler flap before replacing the central locking actuator. For gasoline hybrid vehicles where the fuel filler flap fails to open or does so but slowly, observe the document "Fuel filler flap fails to open or does so but slowly on plug-in HYBRID gasoline vehicles"! Cause Central locking actuator may have an electrical fault and may not open. Remedy 1. Car locked: To rule out incorrect operation, operate the fuel filler flap in the area shown in Fig. 1 and listen out for the clicking noise of the microswitch in the central locking actuator. If no clicking can be heard, continue with point 4. 2. Car unlocked: Press area on flap to start the microswitch clicking. Flap opens - show the customer the area to press. 3. Car unlocked: Flap cannot be opened regardless of which area you press. Open the flap by operating the emergency release for the CL actuator (through trunk, fender gap cover, etc, depending on specific vehicle) 4. Central locking actuator pressed directly, no clicking of microswitch, no electrical release of central locking actuator => Clicking of microswitch, electrical release of central locking actuator => Tank filler recess/charging recess not OK; report results via a TIPS case to B/C/E Inbox. 5. Replace central locking actuator; check function of new part before installing it: Do not dispose of damaged part. New central locking actuator does not release: More detailed examination of connector coupling, wiring harness, electrics required.

SummaryComplaint If TRANSMISSION 725.1 (9G TRONIC FACELIFT) exhibits any "shift quality" problem symptoms, various optimized diagnosis procedures are available to you for selected vehicle model series with STAR3 architecture, Cause Various Remedy Despite this, the problem shift mechanism should be verified with XENTRY in the presence of the customer as a preparatory measure. In event of shift quality problems, before the start of any repair or standard adaptation, the latest quick test, the transmission control unit log and the EEPROM data should be read out as a txt file (*.txt). The EEPROM data must be stored separately on a data medium (USB stick) as it can no longer be reproduced after adaptation has been performed. Before creating a TIPS case always check that the engine and transmission control unit as well as the dependent powertrain control units (e.g. CPC3, DCDC48EVO1, ISG48V2, LIB48_223) have the latest software release, and update them, if necessary, then perform another test drive. Note: The latest version of the XENTRY (including all available add-ons) must be used for programming the transmission and engine control unit. Only then can it be ensured that the very latest version of each software is installed. If the problem still persists, the creation of a CAN-FD measurement (successor to SD-SCAN for vehicles with STAR3) may be necessary, when requested. For this, the parts specified in the parts scope and the corresponding XENTRY versions / add-ons are required: • W000589002100 Test box 1 • W223589016300 Adapter cable for vehicles with STAR3 • XENTRY 03/2021 with add-on 19516 • XENTRY 06/2021 with add-on 19604 • XENTRY 09/2021

SummaryComplaint Noises/ squealing from the service brake in various driving situations and ambient conditions. Cause Frictional vibrations Remedy AMG brake systems are designed for high loads. This can result in noises under certain operating conditions and driving styles. Please refer to the Operator's Manual for further information such as care and maintenance instructions (washing vehicle directly after heavy use and using approved cleaning agents). These are dependent on speed, brake pressure or ambient conditions such as temperature and air humidity. 1. Beginning Diagnostics: a) Check whether, apart from this document, an additional document exists for the model series in question, and if so, work through it and then continue with1b. b) Check whether the complaint can be reproduced and at which axle or side the noises occur (ideally together with the customer while driving). c) Check the affected system for component wear, mechanical damage or localized overheating damage. 1. Replace damaged components as necessary and re-assess noise concern. d) Secure vehicle on a lift. 1. Start the engine and depress the brake pedal 3-4 times. 2. Check each wheel to see if they turn freely by hand. 3. If a wheel is not turning freely by hand, this needs to be addressed prior to re-assessing the noise concern. e) Assess condition of brake rotors and pads per WIS and visually (i.e. long periods of stagnation, etc...). 2. Specific Axle Work: NOTE: If brake pad has a metal backing plate, there is no need to affix the adhesive film. a) If the noises are coming from the front axle => Affix linings with adhesive film (see attachments for front axle). If backing plate is installed on pads, move to step 3. 1. Remove brake linings of front axle. 2. Clean all contact points on brake lining and brake caliper/carrier. 3. Clean bonding surface (where pistons contact back of brake pad). Apply adhesive film to the backplate of the piston-side brake lining. For 6 piston calipers, only in the area of the center piston. For other piston caliper configurations less than 6, apply where the piston(s) makes contact with the back of the pad. 4. After installing the brake linings, actuate the brake for 30 seconds. b) If the noises are coming from the rear axle => Affix linings with adhesive film and grease the lining as per the specification (see attachments for rear axle). 1. Remove brake pads of rear axle. 2. Cleaning all contact points on brake lining and brake caliper/carrier. 3. Grease contact points (red areas) between brake lining and guide of brake caliper with heat-resistant lubricating paste. 4. Clean bonding surface (where pistons contact back of brake pad). Apply adhesive film to the backplate of the piston-side brake lining. IMPORTANT: Be absolutely certain to not allow paste between friction surfaces of the pad and disc! 3. Brake Bedding Process: a) Before trip, the mileage incurred must be clarified with the customer (approx. 30 miles). b) Select a suitable route so speeds of approximately 65 MPH can be achieved. c) Brake the vehicle 15 times with a brake pressure of approx. 30 bar (have the passenger read it out using XENTRY) from 62 MPH to 30 MPH (no emergency stops and no braking in the ESP control range). Maintain a cooling distance of approx. 1 mile between brake applications. d) Finally drive approx. 3 miles to allow the system to cool. e) Reassess noise.

SummaryComplaint Single throttle lift-off clunking noise from the side shaft when moving off (audible at the outboard end). The clunk is heard once when changing from forward to reverse (and vice versa). Cause If the complaint is eliminated by experimentally loosening the outboard collar nut (by 1 turn), the problem is due to micromovement in the connection between the wheel bearing inner race and the joint housing of the side shaft. Note: The collar nut must always be replaced after being loosened and must be tightened to the specified torque. Remedy Coat contact surface of side shaft with wheel bearing with Molykote paint. To do this, proceed as follows: 1. Remove outboard side shafts (extract outer joint gearing from wheel hub) 2. Clean contact surface A (see image file in attachment "Outer joint housing before") before coating with Molykote, using "spirit" (free of dust and grease) 3. Coat contact surface A (see image file in attachment "Outer joint housing after") using Molykote and leave to dry for one hour in removed condition 4. Reinstall side shafts Note: Before using the antifriction coating (Molykote), stir it or shake it thoroughly for (at least 1 minute).

1. Beginning Diagnostics: a) Check whether, apart from this document, an additional document exists for the model series in question, and if so, work through it. b) Check whether the complaint can be reproduced and at which axle or side the noises occur (ideally together with the customer while driving). c) Check the affected system for component wear, mechanical damage or localized overheating damage. 2. Specific Axle Work: a) If the noises are coming from the front axle => Affix linings with adhesive film (see attachments for front axle). 5.
