This bulletin provides information related to extracting "in use performance tracking" emissions data from the Engine Control Unit (ECU) of certain vehicles sold in California. The California Air Resources Board (CARB) requires the emissions data from vehicles with a minimum of 3,000 accumulated miles without reprogramming or resetting. To facilitate collection of this data at the dealer level, KDS screenshots will allow the capture of relevant parameters.

SummaryTECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: OIL LIFE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (OLMS) AND MAINTENANCE REMINDER FEATURE - This bulletin provides information regarding the new Oil Life Management System (OLMS) Maintenance Reminder Setting feature available on some 2023MY~ and later vehicles. Kia is advising that the new OLMS maintenance reminder feature be enabled on all applicable 2023MY and later vehicles. The OLMS monitors deterioration data factors such as engine rpm, engine load, engine oil temperature and evaluates conditions such as short distance driving in cold weather, high-temperature uphill driving, and long-term idle. The 'Service Interval' (Time and Mileage) option in the Cluster settings may still be available on vehicles equipped with the new OLMS feature for customer use. During vehicle PDI, OLMS is set (100%) from the factory and not required to be reset.
