Received over OTA UPDATE ON FRIDAY October 10th and Saturday the car was not drivable.. the car would start but shut off and lose power and the message was To shift into park and restart car.. this happened several times till I was able to drive the less than a mile to get home..thankfully this happened very close to my as there was no warning... and because the car just shut off if I was on a highway this would have caused an accident..

This morning my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe check engine light came on and had a loss of power. I had to pull over onto a highway to restart the vehicle. The dealership stated that there was an over the air update that was faulty and that they had no way to fix it, but they stated to bring it into the dealership service department even though vehicle is currently not drivable or unsafe to operate.

When driving at full speed vehicle shuts off and says to put into park. You cannot accelerate. Warning lights come on saying Antilock system failure, Hybrid system issues along with many other lights. You can be going 70 and it just turns off. We were driving from Sandusky Ohio home to Indiana and this happened. Our safety was put at risk fue to being on highways and out of nowhere our vehicle would lose acceleration and you would have to pull over and restart the car.

I performed a software update on my 2024 Jeep Wrangler as prompted by the Uconnect system. Immediately after performing that update the next time I turned the car on the engine completely shut off, and the dashboard blinked shift to park and then drive. The engine continued intermittently, completely shutting off while driving. It became clear after an online search that this was a common issue happening to Jeep Wrangler users who had performed this software update. This was terrifying. Supposedly there is a fix in the form of a new software update, being pushed out, but I have not been able to power cycle. The vehicle into performing that software update to fix the car.

I was driving down the street and my car turned off in the middle of the road with an electrical stability control failure and brought me to a stop in the middle of the road of busy traffic. I turned the car off and back on, and it was able to get me to a parking lot before shutting off again. From there, I had to get it towed to the dealership out of concern for my safety. Looking into the issue online, looks like a software update I had installed the night before caused the failure and resulted in my car shutting off. This is a major safety concern for me.

10 minutes after a software update. My vehicle lost propulsion and would engage a gear unless the vehicle was shut off/on and would repeat the loss after less than a half mile. Vehicle was towed to dealer.

In early October 2025 (specifically around October 10), Jeep/Stellantis pushed an over-the-air (OTA) software update via Uconnect to 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe models. This update, intended for system improvements or recalls (e.g., related to hybrid battery management or telematics), instead caused widespread failures in the vehicle's computer systems, particularly the telematics control module (TCM) and powertrain control module (PCM). After the update I experienced the following. - Sudden loss of motive power while driving (e.g., the vehicle shutting off mid-drive, refusing to accelerate, or entering limp mode). - Check Engine Light (CEL) illumination. - Inability to shift gears or recognize transmission states, rendering the vehicle undrivable. - Vehicle stalling multiple times in short distances, leading to to the need for a tow. In my instance I was on a two lane road with no shoulder and no way to drive my vehicle. I was able to move to a parking lot and wait for a tow.

On 10/11/25 I was driving and the vehicle cut off. Most lights on the dash lit up and message in the screen by the odometer said stop vehicle and put it in park. I did, waited a few minutes and it started up, but the engine light remained on. Third time I got going and home which was a few miles. Next morning g engine light still on. Followed some advice from a jeep forum and did a soft reset and then shut it off and turned it back on and let it sit for 20-30 minutes. The engine light went off when I restarted and remained off for the balance of Sunday 10/12/25. Not sure of any damage this might have done and am I fixed?

A serious safety issue that occurred earlier today. While driving with my family on the highway, my 2024 Wrangler 4xe suddenly shut down completely without warning. I was fortunate to pull over safely, but it could have resulted in a serious accident. A complete shutdown with no warning is extremely dangerous and there was no recall.

After an update on 10/10/2025 when arriving home, the next morning 10/11/2025 while driving the check engine light came on and I lost all power less than a mile from home. I turned off the jeep, turned it back on and proceeded to try and drive to the next drive way to turn around and go home. In under a half mile, I lost power again (at 55mph). Got it restarted and turned into the drive way to turn around. When turning left out of the driveway, I lost power a third time and my jeep would not restart. I was across two lanes of traffic and we needed to push the jeep back into the driveway, but the auto brake kept engaging. Had Jeep towed to a dealership.

Vehicle lost power transfer while in Drive and dash instructed to press brake to shift into Park. Check Engine light came on. Dash said something about fuel transfer issue. Happened 5 times in .25 mile. Had to turn car off and restart to drive and it happened again. This all happened after a UConnect update

Vehicle received a UConnect update on 10/10/25. The next morning the vehicle was only able to drive 2-3 blocks before the engine lost power, check engine light turned on, and the board directed me to shift the car into park and start the car. I was able to restart the car and it did the exact same thing within 200-300 feet. I was able to get the car to the dealership so they can look into how to resolve. There are a lot of postings online with others experiencing the same thing (some losing power when they were driving down the highway). All appear to be related to the UConnect update. Don’t feel safe driving the car not knowing when it will lose power again.

I went for a short drive yesterday and my jeep stalled twice (once on my way to the store, and then again on the way home). It completely stopped working both times and I had to put it in Park and then back to Drive. I would get a warning message telling me to "Shift to P and then Shift to Gear". The check engine light is now on. I am afraid to drive it now. What if I am on the highway and it stalls? I am taking it to the dealership for inspection tomorrow, hopefully I can get there safely. I picked up a rental car to drive in the meantime.

- #11692987October 12, 2025ENGINE, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS, POWER TRAIN
The vehicle shuts itself off randomly after having installed an over the air update to the UConnect system. In a span of one hour my vehicle shut itself off without warning, while driving, eight times. This is apparently happening with several Wrangle 4Xe models nationwide. Per Jeep customer care, there are "hundreds of thousands of vehicles being affected" and for now owners are being instructed to take them to the dealership. Per the customer service rep, no communication is being sent out by Jeep to any customers or through local media as they are choosing to handle it internally.

Coming out of our driveway, the Jeep randomly flashed D at us and told us to put the car in park to restart. We thought that was weird as it was, but it only got worse from there. Well over 30 minutes later, while driving northbound I35 in the left lane, we experienced full power failure. We had to make it across three lanes of traffic in the midst of a busy highway with 18-wheelers all around using the only energy left over from our 70mph drive. Once we were on the side of the highway, we were finally able to get the Jeep on and moving again. At this point, the check engine light is on. We were just trying to make it to the next city so we could make a plan, and everything was fine for about 2 more miles. We got onto a bridge and the power failed again. Now, even though we opted to stay in the right lane out of fear for our safety, we have nowhere to go, no shoulder, just guard rail and whatever was below, and still have traffic all around us going at speed. We took the access roads where we could, but the car continued to lose power at a faster rate. Finally, at the Jeep Dealership in Hillsboro, the service team plugged the jeep in and said a code was thrown but they would not look at it until Monday.

Vehicle stated to put car in park while Vehicle was still in motion. Vehicle restarted but then the same thing happened. This occured 4 more times. I was able to make it to the dealership near by. I had young children in the car at the time.

Used 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4XE on 10/11/25 and stalled 8 times in 2 miles. had to come to complete stop put in park and restart . I circled back home and used my husbands car to run errand. I tried calling my Dealer and they were closed. My husband tried the Jeep the next day and engine light was on but jeep ran fine. I learned from a Jeep forum today that there was an update released on uconnect on Friday 10/10/25 and it affected lots of Jeep owners with the same symptoms . I did see the notification on Saturday and delayed it the 1st time and Jeep ran fine but the accepted it later and it happened after that. Thank God i was in my quiet neighborhood and returned the Jeep home safely that day. We will report this to our dealer on Monday when they open as this was scary and the engine light is still on.

While driving in town, this vehicle lost power 3 times in 2 blocks. I had to put it in park and restart it each time. It resembles the problem reported as being recalled on 2021-2023 Wranglers, this one is a 2024. I drive on the highway an hour to and from work and am very concerned this could cause a major accident resulting in injury and/or death.
