STEERING
October 2022 at 19000 miles the vehicle started getting steering wheel wobble after crossing bridge seams at 70mph. It gradually got worse until we'd almost loose control so in November I contacted the dealer and FCA. They have had it back in the shop, replaced the steering dampener, track bar, and are now waiting on more parts to replace because they are unable to find the root cause of this steering issue. I see a lot of people reporting the same issue and having the same experience. Since the vehicle randomly causes loss of control, I am looking at arbitration to get it replaced via the lemon law. Jeep needs to be forced to recall these vehicles and either fix or remove ALL of them from the road.

POWER TRAIN
The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Gladiator. The contact stated that while driving in stop-and-go traffic, the clutch plate overheated. The clutch hot, fully release clutch and reduce clutch use message was displayed. There was a strong burning odor detected. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that a clutch replacement was needed. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where the clutch was replaced but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the same dealer, but the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure was like NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V028000 (Power Train). The manufacturer was contacted but provided no additional assistance. The failure mileage occurred at approximately 6,000.

My 2021 Gladiator frequently experiences the Death Wobble at Highway speeds when I hit bumps in the road. We received a postcard in the mail references the problem with 2018 - 2020 Jeep Wranglers and Jeep Gladiators but not 2021 and this same problem is happening. It is very scary when you hit a bump and the steering wheel just starts shaking like crazy or as referenced above a Death Wobble.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL:ACCELERATOR PEDAL, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:PEDALS AND LINKAGES
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Gladiator. The contact stated while approaching a stop sign and attempting to place his foot on the brake pedal, the contact’s foot became caught between the brake pedal and the accelerator pedal. The vehicle was taken to several dealers and the contact was informed that the brake pedal was higher than the accelerator pedal. The vehicle was not repaired because the dealers refused to repair the vehicle. The manufacturer was contacted, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was 135.

This is to file a former complaint against jeep for the “death wobble” I experience every time I get on the highway and hit a bump. I lose control over the vehicle. The dealership said the parts to fix the problem are on back order and cannot even be order for up to 6 months.

The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V767000 (Fuel System, Gasoline, Engine) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

POWER TRAIN
Transmission exploded while driving the highway creating a large hole on the side and sending shrapnel out which damaged further components. Transmission fluid was dumped all over the highway and vehicle lost power. It is available and I have photos and a video of when the failure accured. There are mutliple others who have had the same issue onFacebook group called Jeep Clutch Recal, related to a clutch recall that came out just before my Jeep was manufcatured. The failure occured with no other warnings available to me, Jeep told me that there was a fault code but would not give me a printout of the code or when it appeared saying the information was propriatery. 12-30-2022 When driving truck on interstate going over a bridge the bump caused a death wobble and wouldn't stop until brake pushed. Did this twice in about 2 miles while driving 65 miles an hour. Took it to the shop and was told replacing front end parts after they experienced it also. Shop called said Chrysler said to turn steering wheel to left and right 25 times, then they test drove it again and said it quit. We picked it up and still doing it.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING
When driving in snowy conditions at night the LED headlights and driving lights do not put off enough heat to keep the headlights cleared of snow. This results in the snow packing in the headlight area disbursing light in every direction but straight ahead. The snow coming at you as you drive is thus lit up but there is not enough light emitted forward to light the road. Driving around 30 mph yields a light only a couple of feet in front of the vehicle. This creates a very dangerous condition.

Steering wheel shaking wile driving around 65 MPH, specially on cold weather around 30 to 40 degrees. Death wobble is the term I found been coming on jeep wranglers and gladiators. But not understand how this issue is not a recall from the FCA company. I bring my vehicle one time to the dealership the entire front suspension was replaced and the issue was ok for 11 months, now is happening again.

The contact stated while driving approximately 30 MPH, the driver's side front tire kicked up a stone from the street which entered the cabin and struck the contact on the left side of his forehead. The contact stated that he understood that inadequate fender coverage allowed road debris to be picked up by the wheels and thrown into the cabin of the vehicle. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that there was no repair needed. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. My 2021 Jeep Gladiator Sport is very unsafe to drive specially at Highway speeds or speeds above 45 mph and multiple dealerships service departments are refusing to fix or even acknowledge the issue after not being able to fix the problem already due to no major recalls being offered by Jeep only a bulletin. Steering is very loose, and I cant drive my Jeep Gladiator Sport straight specially on a windy day. I have to constantly adjust my Jeep Gladiator Sport from side to side to keep it in my lane specially if being passed by a semitruck. My Jeep Gladiator Sport sways at speeds as low as 45 mph, but the problem increases at higher speeds. Most of the pulls on highway speeds or windy days are to the left and I have to hang on to the steering wheel for dear life or constantly correcting the wheel.

My 2022 Gladiator with only 2700 miles on it locked up at a stop light. Every light on the dash was blinking, and the wipers came on. I couldn’t move the shifter, or turn the Jeep back on. Hazard lights would not come on initially. Not being able to move the vehicle or turn on hazard lights on a busy 6 lane road was extremely scary. I have never had a vehicle do anything like this before. I had it towed to the dealership. I explained what happened and they had never heard of this before. I have read of it happening on social sites and forums. I feel uncomfortable driving it even if they repair it. I bought this vehicle less than 60 days ago as of this message.

driving on I495 in Alexandria Virginia, on 26-dec-2022 at 1746 hrs est, north bound, at 55 mph, I drove over a series if raised areas on the roadway and suddenly the steering wheel started shaking violently and then the entire jeep was shaking back and forth like it was going to come apart. i slowed down as much as I could and moved over to a more or less vacant lane. this action made NO difference at all, until the other traffic got out of our way as we slowed down (at rush hour) and then when we were at 35 mph the shaking stopped just as fast as it started. on the way home about 3 hours later, we hit some of the same raised strips (bumps) and had the same issue again at 45 mph. My research found "JEEP DEATH WOBBLE" as a possible failure point.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING
During show fall the snow gathers in the head lamp dishes causing them to fill and block out the light. This causes me to pull over and clear the head lamps so I can see about every mile or two. This is a known problem due to not having heat to melt the snow from the head light. Jeep knows this since there are companies out there selling heated head lamps. I was almost hit last week during the big snow fall we had in Western Washing ton Dec 2022. also in the mountains in CA. Where I lived. in 2021 in Tehachapi CA. This is a major safety hazard for driving and having to pull over to clean headlamps while driving on highways opening up personal safety out of the vehicle in inclement weather. There are multiple articals on the internet discussing this problem of driving in cold weather with Jeeps with factory headlamps on how the fill with snow.
